Just received another DM via Yelp app from a "witness" who wants to discredit and criticize me and my family and our experience here. DO NOT COME HERE EVER. If you have a bad experience you will be threatened and harassed by "loyal customers." What is this? The mafia?? You will get a hair cut and like it...or else. Give me a break. There is no way this is normal behavior. I don't scroll through House of Prime Rib's yelp page looking for 1-star reviews so I can defend my love for HOPR by harassing and attacking reviewers. "Do you not have a tongue? Did your tastebuds burn off? You must eat garbage for a living because clearly you don't know excellent beef when you taste it." Who does that? No one. It's painfully clear the stylist who did my daughter's hair (Jessica) is talking and riling people up. I find it extremely humorous that these people feel the need to righteously defend this barbershop and tell me I'm wrong for sharing my experience when it's really none of their business. It's clear that Annie and her staff are saying things to create a sob story so these people feel the need to correct some injustice. That's really sad. How petty do you have to be to continue to complain and slander customers who give negative yet honest feedback even WEEKS later. You're not even the one that has to deal with the bad haircut for the next 3-4 months. My husband has gone here a few times and has liked his haircut - a high fade, starting with a zero. A haircut costs $30 and they only accept cash (ATM inside shop though). The only complaint is that they are not the best with appointments. On average, he gets to the chair 10-15 minutes after his original appointment time. read more

This place is a goldmine! I decided to grow my beard out and was terrified to have it shaped since it took about 3 months to start looking ultra full. When I called Annie, she explained to me she would do exactly what I wanted and that she has shaped beards before. I was very skeptical of any barber that I hadn't been to before/could trust, but I cannot keep trekking over to Oakland to have my hair and beard needs met. All I can say is that after how she took care of me, I'm going to be a forever customer. She did everything perfectly and took it slow to do exactly what I wanted. While I was getting my beard done, I also saw another barber there (don't know her name) turn a guys lackluster head of hair into a masterpiece. Edit: Annie reached out to me and fixed my haircut. She did a phenomenal job and I highly appreciate it. I'm still leaving my previous review below since I truly did have a subpar first experience. -- Previous review: I received what I can only describe as a COVID DIY haircut from this place last week. I would be surprised if this person has actual professional training. To be clear, the barber was not Annie but I expected a reasonable haircut from her associate and this was not it. She charged me the same amount as Annie (Annie took the appointment) and I expect Annie to uphold her standard if she decides to hire others. I asked for a simple haircut with #2 on the side but she insisted on using scissors. It was way too long and uneven when she was done (as in the cut is not straight and the left side looks different from the right). When I pointed this out, she literally told me it's uneven due to the shape of head and due to the "fact" that I have more hair on one side of my head than another. ...okay? I've never had this problem at any other barbershop and I don't think my head is misshapen. Even if it were, certainly not misshapen to the point you can't give me a straight side cut lol. I gave up trying to get this fixed from her and decided to just take the L as her attempt at fixing it was literally gaslighting me into believing I'm deformed rather than actually fixing the haircut. Just got a haircut today from Annie herself. I walked in and waited a few minutes before Annie took seated me on the barber chair. There is another hair stylist working for her whom is also very good from what I saw. I told her what I wanted: 1 on the sides and just a little bit off the top. She showed me what a 1 looked like before continuing and asked if I wanted the top of my sides blended or kept at 1. I said blended, but I should have asked what that would look like. Nonetheless my hair looks great! It took 15 minutes to cut and she was very nice asking me about myself. She finished by taking a picture of my new hair for reference and asked for my name at the counter. She asked how to spell it and wrote it down on a list of names.
