Getting ready for an upcoming trip, means a fresh cut and fade. So i hopped on the Booksy app, and unfortunately my regular barber was out of town, but I was able to grab an appointment with Smart. Smart is an amazing barber. He's personable, easy to chat with, and delivered on exactly what I was looking for my haircut. A proper fade is hard to find, but that's never been a problem coming to CutRight Normally if my barber isn't available, I'd just wait but since time was of the essence. I've been coming here for years and it's easy to tell that this shop in general has a lot of talented barbers. Which made me comfortable booking Smart bc I've seen his talents on display. If you are looking for a new barbershop, CutRight is easily one of the best I've been to living in the Peninsula. Called for an appointment this morning. I was fortunate enough that Justin had an opening. Justin was very meticulous with by bald/fade comb over with a part line. Great barbershop in my town. I found them on Yelp and after reading all of the positive reviews, decided to give them a try. I had been going to a place in the City, but my patience had waning over the past several years. They do a great cut, but are very disorganized. Even with an appointment, I usually waited an hour and a half to get into the chair. I had to give up on them. The fellas at Cut Right are young, but really know what they are doing. Best of all, a 9:00 am appointment starts at 9:00 am. My barber Justin has cut my hair three times now (fade 2-1-0) and I have been very satisfied. Originally my review was 3 stars due to long wait times and overall being meh with the service at Cut Right. That changed significantly, I always get my hair cut by Smart, he knows me by now, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to haircuts. I just let him do what he thinks is best. He goes above and beyond every time, using razors, trimmers and clippers, also uses hot towels. He gives you a real gentleman's cut as anyone of the barbers at Cut Right would do I suppose. The wait times for me have changed, I usually am seated and have my Cut going within five minutes of being there. The atmosphere is really great, music always playing. Sometimes they have movies going, and or espn. Always a real light attitude, it's easy to relax there. My new favorite thing is they have an old school Coca Cola fridge with a bottle opener on the side, and they have the old school Coca Cola bottles complimentary! After reading the positive reviews here on Yelp, I was really looking forward to great haircut and experience. Well, the good news was, I had a very nice experience, but a terrible haircut. I've never left a bad review for a barber, but for the price (over $40 with cost + tip), and the cut received, it is warranted. All was going well through-out the cut and then, when he handed me the mirror, I was shocked. How didn't he notice that my hairline was badly uneven? The random clumps of length? He kindly made adjustments, then I mirror checked again. Still, bad. He fixed it, again. I checked, again and yet even more hair/fade line problems. After the 3rd time, I thought it was finished and went on my way. Later that night, I randomly found a huge spot of uncut hair on the back of my head. HUGE. I understand leaving length on the front of the head, but this was the back top of the head. How bad was it? Sooooo bad, I had to take action. I took scissors from my drawer and did the unthinkable. FINISHED THE JOB MYSELF. I have never needed to cut my own hair hours after a professional tended to my hair. I hope that the establishment uses this review as an opportunity to review the craftsmanship of the barbers they hire and make sure that everyone truly has the skills to deliver the services, especially with the very professional rate they charge. read more

I recently had to find a new barber and came across this establishment and gave it a try. It's a easy place to get to but parking can be tricky depending on what time of the day you go. The shop is clean and vibrant with great decor and music. The staff is friendly, professional and very welcoming. My barber, Christian, knew exactly what I wanted and gave me a great cut. This so-called barber "Smart"... SUPER WHACK! Came 2 minutes before my sons appointment and this "Smart" decides it was the "smart" thing to do to cut a walk-in. WTF? Ernest cuts my 11yr old sons hair and he LOVES it!! He loves the way he looks and the way his head feels after.(A bald fade is what he gets done which I recently learned.) I was very impressed that Ernest even uses some head massaging gadget after he cuts my sons hair considering he's only 11 and why would he need a head massage?? First of all, my Main barber form now on is Jason. I called in and tried to get same day appointment on a Saturday and Jason was kind enough to fit me in his schedule and accommodate my request. The shop is nicely located in San bruno with easy access to all Freeways. Parking isn't a problem either. Decoration is unique and hip, music is loud but that's what you really need when getting a hair cut. Prices are market price and reasonable. I will deff be back and recommend Jason, he is at an expert level at what he does, takes his time and does it right. Will be back soon. read more

I wrote a review before and now it's not here... Finally Yelp. I had not gone to a Barber for about 10 years, I used to just shave my head. I finally let my hair grow out and scoured the areas for a decent Barber. Luckily I came across this gem of a shop. Atmosphere is awesome, employees are all cool, caring and do a fantastic job. The cuts take about 45 minutes (give or take) but the final product is flawless every time. I usual go to Smart's or Terrall and have never had a bad cut. You need to make an appointment as these guys are always busy. (it's a good thing) they will do there best to accommodate your time request as best as possible. The guys at CutRight are all pretty cool. They are also good with their haircuts, and know how to really cut hair. The only qualm I have about this place is the fact that they jacked up their price by a whooping $10. It used to be $20 for a haircut. Now it's $30. Considering this is San Bruno and not the city, that pricing is a little ridiculous to say the least. A barber in the city costs around $25, and some include a hair wash after. CutRight doesn't do hair washes. Since the price raise, I unfortunately had to stop going to them. read more
