I had been coming to this shop for over 10+ years but one day enough was enough. Dom was always awesome to me but Mark not so much, to the point where I just stopped cutting my hair altogether ever since. I'm a pretty easy going guy and I dont really get upset. one day I decided to try a new barber that they had just hired at the time because she had an opening so out of curiosity i gave her a try. There was a miscommunication. I had asked for a Gentleman's cut like I always do with every barber there and they always do a good job. Except this time the new barber there ended up giving me a completely different cut, to me it's just hair, it'll grow back, accidents happen whatever no biggie, another barber tried to salvage my hair the best she could and i still tipped. Mark contacts me to apologize for the inconvenience and offers me a free cut, which in the past i have always declined the free cut. This time though I had decided to take him up on the offer. He cuts my hair and does a good job as usual but then informs me that the cut won't in-fact be free because "I should have known better"... and gave me a small discount instead. "I should have known better" ? "Known better" how exactly? Known better than to trust all the barbers in the shop with my hair that i frequented for over a decade ? Like I always have ? Or to have "known better" to trust that you would honor your word and not charge me for a free haircut that Mark HIMSELF offered? Something I didn't even ASK for. It wasn't the only time either. I was offered another free haircut for a different inconvenience, which i again agreed to. I show up and then he begins to berate me and telling I'm crazy if i think im going to get a free haircut, didnt even say Hi or Goodmorning first or anything. Something once again, that i didn't ASK for, it was OFFERED to me. I still paid after that. Very unprofessional. I decided to stick with Dom for awhile longer but this interaction had left such a bad taste in my mouth that i just stopped going altogether. 5 stars for Dom -1 star for Mark I have always been nothing but polite and kind to everyone. Bad customer service, rude people. Making fun of someone the second they walk in because the shop is full isn't the way to go about business. Who asks "are your shoes heavy? No? Then wait outside." Before the person can even ask (as a walk-in) if there's space for said walk-in. We thought we'd try the Chop Shoppe closer and it was a mistake. We'll be sticking with the Lancaster location. The staff here need more training in customer service. Disgusting attitude here. Take this as a warning before wasting a trip to chop shoppe quartz. read more

Been coming to the chopp shoppe in quartz hill for a few years and always had a great experience up until recently. The last two times I've gone to get cut there's a younger guy hassling me to buy some kinda drawing from him in front of the shop. I'm all for helping the less fortunate but honestly his demeanor tells me he is more than capable of get an actual job, instead of hassling me to "buy a piece of paper". It makes me uncomfortable because I'm already paying for the service provided and it feels like poor taste to try and grab me knowing I have cash on hand since it's cash only. I also may add that his ( bodily odor) is so strong it made me physically sick to my stomach, turning my haircut experience into a sub par experience. I will unfortunately be finding a new shop for myself and my sons. Sorry to go but I get asked everywhere else I go and just want to walk into a business without being asked for money. Took my 5 year old with long hair to get a short haircut. Jen was amazing! She was so personable which made my son feel comfortable. It was our first time there and will return. Luckily for us one of her appointments didn't show up so she was able to cut my son's and my husband's hair which he was a happy customer as well. Next time I will make an appointment and take cash. Words cannot express how awesome these guys are. These guys typically book you by appointment, but the amount of times they've been able to accommodate me or my sons in a pinch without an appointment has been too many. The shop is awesome. Conveniently located just up the street from our house, the decor is excellent, the barbers are top-notch, and they've got drinks and surprises for the kids. Every time my littlest one whose about to turn 5 get his haircut, he gets to pick out a new Hot Wheels of his choosing to take home for being good for the barber during the haircut, now my son finally can get through without complaining or fussing, and getting his haircut used to be an absolute nightmare. Best Barber Shop in the AV. I originally started going to the Sierra Hwy Chop Shoppe back in 07 along with my oldest son. As a new client I always got a clean fade no matter who's chair I sat in. Mark, Bob, Jenny, Dom have all cut my hair over the years and they all get down. I've been taking my youngest son to see Bob at the Sierra Hwy location since he was 2 years old for a "Gentleman's Cut". Always did a great job! Since the new Chop Shoppe opened in Quartz Hill it's closer to home for me and Mark's able to get me in weekly for an appointment. I refer friends, family, colleagues and clients all the time. If you have 3 or more hours to wait for a haircut then this is the place for you .they have a sign in list with a time you got there .go ahead and dissregard your place in line as its not followed .is someone they know just happens to walk by they will automatically get "hey i can gut your hair right now" so if your on the sign in list then prepare to sit for at least 2hours .maybe more . I sat for 2hours and 40 min before i checked to see that i had been just passed up on the so called sign in sheet . After having a recent surgery that was healed but left a fresh scar on the side of my head, I wanted to find a barber I could trust to do a great job and not reopen my scar. Due to their great reputation, all appointments were booked for the day, but I got lucky and got in on a cancellation. Dom was super friendly and gave me the confidence to believe that any of the barbers could handle the job. Jordan had the cancellation and cut my hair, and I couldn't have asked for him to do any better of a job. He was super careful around the scar, and I got a fantastic haircut! I originally tried booking an appointment with the shop on Sierra Hwy but when they were booked, they referred me to this location. I was able to book a same day appointment for my friend. Appointments are $5 extra but they are worth it. Consider it a convenience fee. When we arrived, Anthony was finishing up a customer so we waited briefly before my friend got in the chair. The shop is very small but there was enough seating for everyone waiting, and the family/friends of the haircut recipients. The staff is very laid back and friendly and truly love what they do. They're constantly joking around and having fun so its never quiet or awkward. My friend started off as a shaggy, nerdy, ginger, and came out looking like a handsome young man. The barbers here really know what they are doing. They are great at giving you what you want but if you give them a little leeway, you'll get something way better than you expected. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!! Even if you bring in a photo showing the exact style you're after, you can expect to get nothing close to what you wanted. "M_____a" let me down big time. Being a good stylist is first & foremost having the capacity to listen to your customer and then to give them what they request. Instead I received her vision, not mine. "I guess I got carried away," is NOT what you want to hear at the end. Making matters worse, she even admitted she doesn't allow the customer to face the mirror and monitor the progress while she's at work. WTF??!! I will never give another dime to this place and will gladly steer others from making the mistake of trusting their stylists. PS - If all you want is military-style, high & tight buzz cuts then go for it. The Chop Shoppe is my go-to place for the best haircuts and service in town. They put extra time into ensuring the best cut and look for both the boys. They are great with kids and very patient. I recommend paying the extra $5 for an appointment because it's always very busy. Even with the extra appointment fee it's a great value. A great place to get your hair cut. Old style barber shop with the retrospective chairs. Got a razor fade for no extra charge. They charge $15 as opposed to the $10 next door but you get it all included. I especially like the atmosphere of the rockabilly barbershop. I'm told that if you have to wait in line they will offer you a beverage for the inconvenience. Anthony was my barber and did exactly what I wanted done.
