This was one of the most DISTURBING experiences we've had with a contractor…read more We hired Rigo and his company, ArtLux, to build and landscape the front and back yard of our home, including a pool, outdoor kitchen, driveway, and landscaping. First, the project had serious workmanship issues -- uneven tile installation, incomplete grouting, unfinished lighting, incorrect installation of pergola leading to water damage, and many other things. Second, the billing and accounting was extremely difficult. As the scope of work changed, additional costs kept being added, but when items were removed from the project the price did not appear to decrease accordingly. We asked SEVERAL times for a clear accounting of the work completed versus unfinished items but never received one. Third, when we raised concerns and withheld the final payment until the project could be completed (which is standard practice), the situation escalated in a very alarming way. While we were out of town over the holidays, Rigo and his team entered the property without our authorization and removed installed pool equipment and outdoor kitchen appliances. In a message to us, he stated that he REMOVED the equipment to "GET OUR ATTENTION"! Because the systems were disconnected, flooding occurred and damage resulted in the backyard. Our pool does not circulate, which may lead to further damage. The experience left us feeling extremely violated and unsafe in our own home. Homeowners should expect disputes to be handled professionally and through normal communication. But this was NOT our experience with Rigo and ArtLux.
