This was one of the most DISTURBING experiences we've had with a contractor. We hired Rigo and his company, ArtLux, to build and landscape the front and back yard of our home, including a pool, outdoor kitchen, driveway, and landscaping. First, the project had serious workmanship issues -- uneven tile installation, incomplete grouting, unfinished lighting, incorrect installation of pergola leading to water damage, and many other things. Second, the billing and accounting was extremely difficult. As the scope of work changed, additional costs kept being added, but when items were removed from the project the price did not appear to decrease accordingly. We asked SEVERAL times for a clear accounting of the work completed versus unfinished items but never received one. Third, when we raised concerns and withheld the final payment until the project could be completed (which is standard practice), the situation escalated in a very alarming way. While we were out of town over the holidays, Rigo and his team entered the property without our authorization and removed installed pool equipment and outdoor kitchen appliances. In a message to us, he stated that he REMOVED the equipment to "GET OUR ATTENTION"! Because the systems were disconnected, flooding occurred and damage resulted in the backyard. Our pool does not circulate, which may lead to further damage. The experience left us feeling extremely violated and unsafe in our own home. Homeowners should expect disputes to be handled professionally and through normal communication. But this was NOT our experience with Rigo and ArtLux. read more

We made appointments and they did not show up for a price estimate on two separate occasions. The first time they said they forgot, after I called to see if they were still coming, since I hadn't heard anything. I rescheduled the appointment for a week later and same thing...No call/ no show. I guess he forgot AGAIN! I would give them zero stars but Yelp requires a 1 star minimum. Not a very good business model. read more

Artlux have been a blessing for us. After 2remodels experiencing them was a bliss. I wish I had known about them before. They did my bathrooms, flooring & made us a wine room that's a masterpiece. Their Landscaping is also fantastic I've seen the transformation of our community grounds by them . My husband and I had been looking for a good and reliable landscaper and were having a hard time even getting people to call us back for a quote, or they would come to see the job to give a quote and never get back to us. Wow! Abel, his brothers, and his team are amazing, and do such great work! I can't thank him enough, our yard looks like a whole new yard! Abel is an honest person, who just wants to do great work and give the owner what they envision for their yard. Abel met me so soon after I called and we went over what I wanted to do. He measured and said he'd send me an itemized quote in a few days (it was a holiday weekend so a few days made sense). After the weekend he sent me the breakdown, the quote he gave was very reasonable compared to other contractors and after reading the great reviews on Yelp, I knew I had to use Artlux. Abel then said he'd get me samples so I could choose the artificial grass I'd like (so I could match it with my neighbors grass). He immediately brought the grass over the next day and he and his team started work that Friday (they took out 3 trees, to make our yard look larger, added artificial grass and switched our stepping stones on the side of our home and added really nice pebbles around the stones). It only took 3 days (working 8am-1pm) to have my yard transformed to what I wanted. The crew did an impeccable job and I plan to use Abel and his team again once I choose the tile I'd like for our yard. I'm so happy I have a contractor to contact who takes pride in their work, produces a great result, and doesn't try to charge you an arm and a leg based on where you live. We had been saving for a while to get our hardscaping done and we started meeting with various contractors to find out how much we needed to save and if our ideas were doable. Most of them were pushy and tried to get us to finance our project and get it done sooner than we were ready. Artlux was different - they took their time with us as we needed and gave us numbers to work with and when we were ready they were too. We ended up doing landscape as well as hardscape and a couple other small projects and we have gotten so many compliments from our neighbors...who are now looking to use them as well.
