I was told the Zucchini in my dish was from the cook's grandma's(?) or mom's(?) backyard and noodles were freshly made which sounded nice but I was hoping my "Zucchini Parm" looked more like it. Instead they were pre-formed patties -_-. Price? Moondog's is doing the "pay what you can" model- but I'm not sure how long they'll continue promoting it. Be warned because we were in sticker shock and hubs decided to pay the full $25ea for our hot buttered rolls which were good but...small. Service was pleasant though from everyone! And because we were doing wine samplings just steps away at Hudson-Chatham Winery, the young lady brought our meals all the way to our table- Thank you! This time we brought another couple of friends with us and ordered a full platter. It was served up in a matter of minutes and it incredibly completely filled three platters with assorted barbecue, including a full rack of ribs, pulled pork, sliced turkey, a quarter chicken and bratwurst, not to mention sliced pickles and rolls. Of course we selected three sides to come with it (which were included): a nice smoked potato salad, cider coleslaw, and cider braised sautéed greens. We added two homemade sauces, peach chipotle and applejack. Well the ribs were smoked using applewood and were so tender the meat fell off the bone. Everything was delicious and the sauces were superb which came as no surprise since they were made using fruit from the restaurant's adjoining farm. To wash it down we ordered an apple cider slushy which was thick with flavor. Again, no surprise, as there is an apple orchard on the farm. We were so stuffed that we joyfully took about half of the food home with us! I've enjoyed barbecue for a number of decades, including down in Memphis, and I must say that this no-frills restaurant with outdoor and indoor picnic table seating can play in the same league as some of the more renowned barbecue joints, certainly in the Capital and Hudson Valley regions. We ordered a half rack of ribs to split, waiting about 15-minutes for our name to be called (too long for two people frothing at the mouth for it). The ribs came undressed, but you could help yourself to as much sauce as you like at the counter. We tried both the apple and chipotle sauces, preferring the former, which was sweet and smokey. It paired perfectly with the tender, fatty ribs. When I think back on it as I am right now, I salivate. My husband also ordered their brisket sandwich (available only on Sundays), which looked just as appetizing as the ribs. The meat was cooked wonderfully medium rare with a charred exterior and a slightly pink interior. My husband ate that heartily. It was one of our favorite bites of the trip. I'm envious of my past self for enjoying that meal while I sit here now, craving it but unable to have it again.

It is served on a foccacia roll. The wraps there I usually pass up on; But from time to time when I feel like trying to catch all the delicious goodness that falls out from them I'll get one. I believe they wrap them in a hurry to get the job done but they aren't wrapped so everything doesn't fall out. So bring your forks people! Since I felt like eating healthy today I decided on getting the fruit smoothie (strawberry)which is usually a disappointment in most establishments because they usually sugar coat smoothies and add things to the smoothie that aren't so healthy.
