I was a prospective new patient at The Classic Smile, and after my first visit, I chose to go elsewhere. They lost the online forms I had submitted in advance, with all my medical history and insurance information. They were running behind schedule, and I was seen nearly 30 minutes after my appointment time. During my consultation with Dr. Sharifi, she tried to upsell me on a new mouthguard and Invisalign. And finally, the estimate I received for the procedure I was actually interested in was more than 60% higher than the estimate I received at another office. read more

The Classic Smile has the best dentist, Dr. Short, and the best technicians and administrative staff in the dental business. Dr. Short is a very skilled dentist, endodontist and does amazing work. My teeth have never looked or felt better. He's also hilarious. Katherine my hygienist is the best I've ever had, and Izzy who has made a few crowns for me, is a master at it. Susan the office manager, is so smart, caring and helpful. I like going to the dentist, it's like a spa treatment. An added plus, they play the best music. Scared of the dentist? Pros: clean facility; helpful staff; flexible scheduling--I called to reschedule my appointment during hurricane sandy and they were happy to accommodate even though it was the day before. The hygienist is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They seem to have the latest equipment in all facets of their service. Cons: Parking is limited--2 designated spots behind the building but good luck finding a spot on the street. Also, Dr. Short behaves like a car salesman. I just wanted a cleaning with zero cavities but he tried to sell me on a procedure I didn't necessarily need or asked for. And he'll continue to solicit for these procedures and you just have to keep saying no. It's actually quite annoying. Bottom Line: Dr. Short and his staff are very nice people operating at a clean and modern facility. Just be weary of him selling you things you may not need and good luck finding parking. read more

I've had horrible teeth my whole life and terrible luck with dentists and dentistry before...I still can't believe how lucky I am to have found this place. Super professional, super courteous, do a good job of explaining everything including technical details of actual procedures. You can tell that the staff here constantly keep up with the latest in dentistry, are authoritative experts in their field and fully epitomize that true professionals never stop learning. I highly recommend Dr. Short and Dr. Gonzales, and they have excellent hygienists. I have been very happy with how they had planned out and performed fillings, dental surgery and orthodontic work. Scheduling has been very accommodative. Yes, parking is a problem, but aside from the two assigned spots there is a whole free municipal parking lot right across the road. read more

The Classic Smile is the best dentist office I have ever been in. I decided to get a new dentist after my old office canceled on me the day of a procedure, and looking back now I am glad they canceled on me. My first visit was an overall exam. Dr. Short and his staff were extremely thorough in looking at every single little thing - I thought I had good dentists, until I had this exam done and realized how much stuff my other dentist just glazed over. After the exam everything was explained to me in layman terms and a plan was put in place. I have since brought in 2 family members for oral exams and will continue to recommend the classic smile to anyone who needs a dentist, or anyone who has a dentist and wants to upgrade. read more

Dr. Shariffi & Dr.Gonzalves are first class she is an artist when it comes to the mouth she made me a temp that was so complicated because of my overbite it fit like a glove. My confidence was in gutter until the first class dental crew went to work on my mouth it was life changing my teeth look exactly like my original teeth they fit with the bottom perfect. I went to Aspen dental & spent 7K for nothing they are hacks got a bridge but supporting teeth couldn't hold. I went in embarrassed & ashamed it took a few appointments & a little time but it was worth it I am almost done I got implants (everybody is different) but I HIGHLY recommend these Dentist they are highly professional if you want a full reconstruction the price is competitive w/other dentist in area but the team at classic smile is by far best in state. I looked everywhere because it's a lot of $ to shell out so you may as well do it right once. Dr.Shariffi & Dr.Gonzales work together so well & I appreciate their straight up no B.S. not trying to sell you anything you don't want or need they will tell you what is needed to achieve the smile you deserve. I am 80% thru with my reconstruction & couldn't me happier with the whole team from reception to dental assistants to dentist the best service w/out a doubt don't hesitate make your appointment for a consultation today you won't regret it. Along with his incredible administrative staff and hygienists, they are always very warm and welcoming. They explain things thoroughly and make any procedure or cleaning painless and easy. They make sure you are well-informed, and they maintain a cheerful and pleasant atmosphere. They use only the latest and greatest technology in their procedures and equipment. I've never posted to Yelp before, but this one is worth it. Don't go to the Classic Smile. I do not trust Dr. Short to provide appropriate dental care. He is disrespectful, talked down to me without explaining things clearly ("did you take physics in high school? Do you know anything about physics?" he asked, just to explain to me that my jaw is like a lever; these kinds of out-of-the blue analogies were used to try to explain things, but they were not helpful ), and obviously just wanted to sell cosmetic work and other procedures I didn't really need. One of these included his insistence that even though my teeth don't grind, I should get a guard to wear at night to prevent grinding. This is obviously a waste. And since I haven't been to the dentist in a while, he said that people should really go every 90 days, and that it's insurance companies that will pay for only twice a year. And don't worry, they have payment plans. My wife and I both got appointments here, and after she came home from hers and said she didn't get a cleaning on the first day, and they charged her $73 for "impressions" of her teeth (basically a model of her teeth for the doctor to use to convince her to pay for more unnecessary work), I said I wanted a cleaning and didn't want to pay for impressions. My teeth were in "good enough" shape to not get the impressions (oh, thank goodness I'm so exceptionally healthy) but I did not get the cleaning. And Dr. Short didn't tell me what problems I had and what to do. That was to take place at a "consultation," to be scheduled for later, at which no work would be done either. Maybe you have lots of time to keep going back to the dentist to chit chat about all the problems you have with your teeth, and maybe you have lots of money to spend on dentistry of little utility. I do not have time for these things, and I expect that any kind of doctor would provide me at least a trustworthy assessment of what is necessary, what is cosmetic, and how to get the necessary work done in ways my insurance will cover. Dr. Short is not going to help me with any of these things, and I cannot recommend him to help you. Dr. Short claimed that all his patients say "I've never had such a thorough check-up," and this is true--but it is not necessarily an endorsement. It may be a convenient way to find lots of billable problems and make lots of appointments. And he will defend every procedure as if it's incredibly important. They may even respond to this post to defend their practices and to dismiss my experience. But I will not go back--even though they still haven't done anything more than take X-rays and grope my mouth for an hour--and now I have to start the process of finding a dentist all over again. read more

This star is because the dentist called me back, I was horrified and am completely embarrassed for this dentist! I have high anxiety going to the dentist and was looking for an office that could help by using nitrous oxide to manage my anxiety, since I needed a root canal on two teeth and the dentist stated that he couldn't help me because I have MassHealth. He said "Sorry, I'll never get paid", even though my insurance stated they are now covering root canals. It would be nice if this dentist is really doing his job because he loves what he does and wants to help people!? Instead he just showed his true colors and stated that he only cares about the money, he doesn't care how he makes people feel and clearly wanted to humiliate me because I am a single mother of two little children on MassHealth who can't afford thousands of dollars to have dental work done. So thank you! you did me the favor and showed me that your office is not where I want to have work done at and that you completely are NOT what you claim to be on your website! I highly would NOT recommend anyone to go here! read more

I've been going to the Classic Smile for years and am very happy with my care. Yes, they do offer a lot of treatments and options, but I've never felt pressed into doing one. The staff and Dr Short explain why they are offering or recommending a procedure, but if I say no, or not now, they are fine with that. Also, more than once they have recommended a solution to a problem I did not know could be fixed. I just got some bonding after finishing Invisalign, and I couldn't be happier with my new smile. Can't disagree more with previous post! I am terrified of the dentist and The Classic smile is the only place I trust for top of the line and state of the art care. Once my car was toed and I couldn't make my appointment, another time my child was sick and I have never been charged for rescheduling. Not only that but I love the girls who work there from the front desk to the assistants. If you live in the medford area, you need to have Dr. Short as your dentist, he is the best. I love the Classic Smile! Everyone here is so friendly and very informative. They explain everything they are doing really well and make you feel comfortable. I have Invisalign and I love the outcome thus far. I had to get propel today to speed up the process of moving a certain tooth and their new tool is awesome! It is automatic so no more hand-crank. I couldn't feel a thing and the process was so quick and easy. I didn't even have to use novocaine, just a super topical they have that worked great but didn't leave me numb for hours after. I would recommend this office to anyone in the area, they really take care of you and your needs. read more

So this place is by far the worst place I've ever gone to .. I had a appointment and called to say I wouldn't make it due to me having to stay late at work and I would like to reschedule and they told me to cancel my appointment I was going to be charged $ 90 .. !!!!!!! Are you kidding me .. !! Then I asked if I could reschedule and they said yes but we need a credit card to hold until my appointment .. !! AGAIN are you kidding me .. !! This is what I pay my dental insurance for .. You are so busy you couldn't reschedule me for that day but you want to take my $90 .. !! And to have another appointment you want my credit card .. Never will this place see my face again NO WAY and everyone I know I will tell not to come here either. You would think your first time missing an appointment calling ahead to let them know you won't make it instead of totally blowing them off they would give you a break and tell you next time this is what is going to happen .. EXTREMLY unhappy with this place and will never return .. !! read more
