Short as my dentist because he and his staff are seriously that much better than anyone I've ever experienced.

My dentist also recommended Dr. Turner. I too had a horrible experience. My first tip-off: When I…read morewas scheduled for gum surgery and, after telling them repeated times that I was allergic to penicillin and making sure that it was entered in my chart, I got to the drugstore before the surgery to discover that they had prescribed (you guessed it) penicillin. And it was downhill from there. His office is a nightmare. Check ups with the hygienist to take out stitches that had already been taken out (the doctor was on vacation), etc., etc. Not answering phone calls. That's just his office. In the middle of one gum surgery, he pulled a tooth, not telling me what the consequences would be (and they are expensive and enormous). Right now, after spending thousands and thousands of dollars, I am seeing another periodontist because even the gum surgery was totally ineffective.

**Note: This review is of Dr Turner's North Andover front desk office staff, NOT Dr. Turner…read morehimself. Apparently a visit I made to the North Andover office 11 months ago was not paid for. I confirmed the office had my correct cell phone but incorrect mailing address. They mailed hard copy notifications (to the wrong address) of my balance but made no such effort to call despite a flat lie from their office staff saying they did. I pulled my Verizon incoming call report and no number of theirs is listed! Lazy front desk staff that do not hold themselves accountable.

They have wonderful and cheerful staff. Dr. DerKazarian always explain you your options and give advice. Prices are very reasonable. I feel they guys do not have that many (and presumably) 5-star reviews because they do not keep asking about leaving good feedback like others. I rarely leave feedbacks. But here I did because I felt unfair that such excellent professionals have so few feedbacks.

I don't know why there aren't more reviews for Cambridge Periodontics! I guess because no one ever…read morethinks that writing reviews about the dentist is important and/or pleasant. I saw Dr Mark in June 2014 (I'm shamefully tardy writing this review) for a gum graft and he was amazing. Everyone in the office is very sweet, very helpful and puts you right at ease. I was probably the youngest person in the office and feeling a little defensive because of my dental history (eating disorder and then over-vigorous cleansing of the teeth). Dr Mark talked to me like I had a brain and explained to me how they do these long-term studies of dentists and this is the probability of this, etc. I was put totally at ease and I felt like I was informed and also respected as a patient which is tremendous at putting people at ease. The procedure was great (as great as a gum graft could possibly be!). I didn't feel anything, I remember maybe five minutes of it because of the sedatives, I listened to my iPod the entire time, I was totally chilled with the anxiety drugs they gave me to sedate me. Dr Mark is basically an artist, if you can say that about a Periodontist, he has a real gift. After the procedure, I went home and went to sleep for a few hours and then watched a million episodes of "Call the Midwife" and various shows I stocked-up on to watch while I convalesced. I was back at work a day earlier than anticipated and everything healed really nicely. The only thing that was rubbishy was the two weeks of ice cream, pudding, and soft things (it got old after about two days) and oh, not being able to kiss my fiance. :( During my follow-up, Dr Mark told me that there was one other area that he would probably do and if I decided to have it addressed I could just call and set up the graft, no evaluation necessary, because they had it in my record. (This may be helpful sooner than I want it to be! Ugh.) I thought that was so amazing because it really reduces my anxiety levels (waiting, waiting). They also have a "Call List" that is either automatic or they ask you if you want to be on it or you ask, one of those, and essentially Marie told me that pretty much everyone goes in long before their scheduled date. I went in on my actual date because the alternative time for me was my birthday (!). For some perspective, my evaluation was on April 1st, they had an opening on May 2nd. I don't know if that's on average, but I ended-up going in June 20-something because of scheduling issues. Insurance and everything was processed very quickly and everything but a very small portion was covered and I have pretty basic dental insurance through my employer. The office is located within walking distance of the Porter Square T stop. I walked to my evaluation and follow-up appointments (promising myself a quick detour at the local Paper Source if time permitted!) but my future mother-in-law drove me to the actual procedure.
