we had a horrible experience at Classy Canine. Our Bernadotte was completely shaved when we picked her up. They were unapologetic and nasty. The owner said our dog had knots, ( untrue) and shaved her to her skin. If it was the case they should have called us prior to doing something so drastic. What a wonderful experience my chocolate Labrador Brady and I had at The Classy Canine in Southampton! We stopped in to have his toenails professionally ground down before an AKC dog show and the team did such a phenomenal job. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and they handled Brady with such enthusiasm, care and patience - which my 100lb 'ish' Labrador appreciated as much as I did! Jennifer, the owner, was especially gracious. She shared fantastic advice on keeping Brady's coat looking its best and recommended some great grooming tools and products that I'm excited to try. It's always a pleasure meeting someone who truly understands the breed specific nuances of grooming show dogs and an experienced team that takes such pride in their work. I only wish we could have stayed longer to soak up more invaluable institutional knowledge! My more-handsome-than-ever Brady trotted out of our now-favorite-spa with new-found exuberance, his paws show-ready and looking very pleased with himself. We have been taking our Bichons, Lucy and Sparrow to Classy Canine and we're always pleased with their haircuts. Classy Canine is accommodating, Lucy is older and has a leg injury, they groom her quickly when possible. We like to keep our girls hair short, which isn't the "standard" cut, but Classy Canine cuts them short, like we ask. Always a pleasure to see how nice the girls look when they come back from being groomed. They also smell really good. I love their Canine perfume. read more

This place is a joke. Called to make an appt for our husky to get a bath, and was told that she "doesn't do huskies, because they've got too much hair" and abruptly hung up. Are you kidding? Isn't that the whole point of your business?? I also know other ppl who have been refused service bc their dogs got "long hair". It's like you going to a hair salon and they tell you no we don't deal with people with long hair....... why does your business even exist ?! read more

I had my mini labradoodle groomed here at some point during the pandemic and though he was matted (because I couldn't get him groomed at the height of the pandemic) they gave him an excellent grooming. The grooming took 5-1/2 hours which I felt was too long for my now almost 10 year old dog so I tried somewhere else. I was not as happy so I called Classy Canine back to make an appointment and they refused to groom him again because they can't guarantee it won't be 5+ hours again. I said I was ok taking that risk (knowing that he won't be as matted) but they still wouldn't do it. I asked if there was a problem the last time they groomed him and they said the only notes they have are that he was matted. So basically this "groomer" is not interested in actually grooming, but simply brushing. They should not advertise "de-matting" if they're not willing to do it. read more

Overpriced especially since they told me my dog was "too terrified" to get in the bath so they just wiped him down. No groomer has ever had an issue getting him in the bath before. He also smelled just as bad when he left as when he came in. Do not recommend. read more

Our dogs have never been as clean as after we picked them up from the classy canine. Wonderful and friendly staff. Menu of grooming options with add-ons (facials, happy feet paw soak, special rinses for sensitive skin). Reasonably priced for the services they provide. Only warning would be to book in advance and be prepared to leave your dogs there for a few hours while they get pampered. Our dogs were happy, super clean and with adorable bows when we picked them up - we will definitely be back next time we are in town! read more

This place is amazing! Really nice people. I have a German Shepard and I have trouble finding a place that can groom her the right way. They did it perfectly. I also have a lab mix that came out looking great as well. Both dogs were happy and gorgeous when I picked them up. It's always nerve-racking to drop your dog off and hand them off to complete strangers so I love that you can see right through the store to where all the grooming is happening. Really makes me feel confident that they are doing things the right way. I would recommend this place to everyone no matter what breed they have! read more

Wonderful, talented groomer!! My dog looks like a show dog EVERY time he leaves there. He is also always happy to return -- pulling me down the hall to get to them when we arrive -- which proves his experience is also great and they are kind!!! They moved about a year ago down the road -- lovely new location off montauk highway so also super convenient. May be slightly more expensive than some other places but for the talent, service and kindness - well worth it! Highly recommend! read more

My cockapoo went in for a haircut and he came out with irritated eyes and a huge cut near his rear. His eyes would barely open because of some cologne or spray that they put on his face. Cologne?!? Seriously? We had to rush to the hospital and they said his eyes were burned and irritated and now he had to take eyedrops. Then just now (4 days later) we saw a cut that my dog licked and made raw. Who knows if it's an infection because the owner who cut his hair cut too short. I do NOT recommend this place because of such awful and painful results for my dog. Do not go there. I heard great things about this place but it turned out to be terrible. I will never go here again. read more

Groomers do a beautiful job on my labradoodle, who has very difficult hair. The staff and owner are very accommodating and are always kind to the pets. The dogs are never tethered, an inhumane practice, and this is the only place my dog has ever returned to without a struggle. Prices are fair. read more

Never have i had such a horrible experience with a pet groomer. Not only was my dog there for six hours when they said three, but the staff was incredibly unfriendly when i called to check up on what time i should pick her up. Finally when she is ready i go to pick her up and i am appalled by the horrible job they did grooming her. The "cut" was more like a shave and she smelled similar to an airport bathroom. I will never return there and don't suggest anyone else should either. Luckily her fur will grow back soon and she wasn't hurt- but that seems like a pretty low standard. read more
