Honest and ethical! A different company was repairing a dryer at a rental property. They recommended a dryer vent cleaning and suggested "their guy." Since I wasn't physically at the property I decided to call around for some quotes. As soon as I spoke with someone at the Clean Air Co., I knew they were who I wanted to go with. They got it scheduled and said the technician would call me once he assessed the vent. To my surprise, the technician reported that the vent was already really clean and told me it wasn't necessary. He said he'd of course be happy to do it but he thought I'd rather save the money. I'm so grateful for his honesty. Not only was he awesome, but both of the folks in the office who I spoke with were very friendly and helpful as well. It's difficult to find people you can trust that will do a great job with contracting work. The crawl space of my house was in bad shape when I moved in, and the Clean Air Co. completely sealed off the entire space. It was so meticulously done and looked so clean. This company is wonderful. I almost went with a different one to do our crawl space encapsulation. When I had a couple conversations with Tim who was the project lead at the time and now becoming the owner of the company, I felt completely taken care of whereas the other was through a sales associate. When I told them I was thinking about switching to Clean Air, the owner of the company called me the day he was released from the hospital to let me know they would be honored to earn our business. That's amazing customer service! I much prefer that hands on quality from smaller businesses as I can speak directly to the owners and workers rather than being passed around. They did mold remediation, cleaned out the old vapor barriers and performed the encapsulation with a dehumidifier. The workers were very courteous which is hard to find. And now if ever there is an issue I would like to check, I've been able to reach out to Tim directly and he has someone out almost immediately. Wow - what a difference! The Clean Air Co. was wonderful to work with from start to finish. When we needed someone to clean our air ducts, we weren't sure where to begin. But they returned my call immediately, got me scheduled ASAP (we had a dead animal in an air duct, and were unable to use our AC due to the smell), and provided amazing, courteous service. By the time they left, they felt like family! We could really tell that they would not have left our home until we were 100% satisfied (which we were). The terrible odor was gone immediately, and the next day, we realized our nasal congestion had diminished significantly. Having your air ducts cleaned is one of those things you know you should do, but I didn't know what to expect. Jim and his wife came to my house and not only were they some of the more pleasant people I've dealt with recently, they did an awesome job. They clean all of the air vents and air returns, including all of your register covers. They sanitize the air duct covers, and use a very light freshener. The freshener I probably could have done without, but you walk a fine line between something that's overpowering and something so subtle you don't really notice it at all. As my vents had never been cleaned before, and I have pets in the house, there was quite a bit of dirt and dust. I also had some birds that had gotten into my dryer vent and from there got into my regular ventilation system and built a nest. It left a definite smell in the room. They did an excellent job cleaning that out and again, maybe this is where the freshener came into play, but there's no more lingering animal smell in that room. No mess was left behind from any of the vents, they actually vacuumed up after themselves, honestly probably more than they needed to. And because I'm fairly clueless when it comes to home maintenance, they helped me figure out my damper, identify tears in my ventilation system, and had references for an HVAC guy who could fix them. That makes it easy for me, which is key. As far as cost, I only got a couple of estimates before going with Clean Air, and they were right on target with those other estimates. Jim and his wife Terry(sp?) came over and spent just under 4 hours cleaning every duct and register in our new (to us) home. Judging from the assortment of items they picked out of our HVAC system, we were glad to be rid of the remainder of what was inadvertently left by the previous inhabitants. So long pennies, Q-tips, candy, small toys, wood chips, an old Renuzit air freshener, and lots and lots of dust, hair, and dirt! We have enough of our own disgusting stuff to deal with thank you very much! Seriously though, I knew our ducts were dirty and I wanted someone to come in with more than a jumbo vacuum to clean them. Jim and Terry use a rotary brush with a camera attached to ensure things get cleaned as much as they can. Then they go back to wash the vent registers and sanitize they system. On top of that, they are a sweet, honest, hard-working couple that are good at what they do. They don't cut corners, they're straightforward in telling you what they offer, and when you ask, they'll give you advice on what kind of improvements you can do to make your system more efficient. My husband and I moved into our farm house this past year and we had problem after problem due to the previous owner not maintaining the property at all! Jim and Terri were great! The best quote for cleaning our ducts and they were so thorough and at the same time quick. We will have them back out to do some work on rearranging our ducts a bit. They let us know we should have them rerouted and trimmed and sealed better. I had Jim and his wife out today to clean my air ducts. I was extremely impressed with their promptness and professionalism shown while in my home. Living in TN for the second time now I have found that contractors/service providers are not the most reliable in this state. The majority of the time they never show up for an appointment and if they do you may never hear from them again. This has been by far the worst state I have lived in when in comes to getting work done by "professionals" on or in your home. When I called and first spoke with Jim he was very thourough over the phone explaining exactly what was involved with the process and provided me a price based on the information I provided him. I called Jim the next day to arrange an appointment for him to be at my house that was 2 weeks out. When I woke up this morning I figured it was going to be another day of waiting around to see if they would actually show and to my surprise they were right on time! Needless to say I felt we started off on the right foot. While in my home they were very thourough and effecient in their process. During their cleaning they would take the time to explain or suggest things to me that might help improve our air quality. This is the first time I have ever had my air ducts cleaned in any house that I have owned so I am hoping this process is going to help my families allergies in addition to the whole house air filtration system we had installed earlier this year. At first we purchased a groupon for $49 for up to 10 air vents cleaned with another company. Before the other company came we looked at the BBB rating of the other company (F!). After reading horror stories about bait and switch and ruined heat and air systems, we cancelled that appointment. Still other companies wanted way too much for a single system cleaning that would include not only the air vents and ducts leading to the trunk line, but the trunk and the return. Then I read these reviews on Yelp and called The Clean Air Co. They usually have a 2 week appointment book, but they are worth the wait! This couple have been cleaning air ducts for 10 years, they do the work themselves, and they have the right equipment. They are very nice people that will clean your air ducts for a fair price, and do the work well. When the hose/brush couldn't reach all of the trunk line, Jim cut a hole in the trunk, cleaned from the hole, and patched it back up, after he asked for my approval. I wanted it all done, and the patch is not a problem. They even have a camera on the end of the hose and you can watch the TV screen to see what is being vacuumed up.
