I was told by a previous A/c I needed a new coil unit. After calling around, I booked Heritage due to great reviews and giving me a better price over the phone. Yesterday, the Heritage techs arrived to do the job. They did a quick system check and noticed freon was not low and like it should be if there was a true leak and I was told did not need to spend $3000.00 on a new coil unit !!! After further discussions, we identified that this Airbnb was having the coil freeze due to renters lowering the temperature to 50°. Very pleased with Heritage on their service, pricing, installation and professionalism. We had two of our units replaced a couple years ago and just recently had our smaller unit replaced that we held out on until it died. Jeff was able to keep the smaller unit working until we could get it scheduled for replacement. What a difference, house feels much better. I would highly recommend them if you are debating about who to use for service or replacement. This company charges $128 service/diagnostic fee, which is not applied to the cost of the repair. Unfortunately for me this was not communicated until after the technician had diagnosed the problem with my heater. I feel this was quite unprofessional. I know some companies charge a nominal fee (and include it in the cost to repair) but $128 seems excessive especially since it isn't applied to the repair. To be fair the owner did apply $64 towards the repair in the end. Also a 4 hour window was given to me for the initial appointment but after 3+ hours, I had to call only to find out they were not coming and wanted to reschedule for the next afternoon. At this point I do not quite understand the rave reviews of this business because I feel I did not get the same level of service. In the end I cannot recommend this company. read more

I needed to replace the entire HVAC system for one of my properties and had called a handful of other local companies. Then I called Heritage Heating and Cooling... and I absolutely could not be happier with that decision! The owner Jeff came out to meet with me and we had a nice talk about his background and company and my HVAC needs. My property is in a condo/townhome community so we even walked a portion of the community together to look at the systems that other owners had. Apparently, a prior owner had been talked into a larger unit at some point and my property would actually be more efficient with a smaller (yes, a less expensive) unit. All these reviews are accurate. We had two ac units needing to be replaced and these guys were awesome. Our two old units were having problems and one finally kicked the bucket, so we opted to get quite a few quotes. Heritage offered a quick and friendly assessment of our needs, developed a quote, and were able to move on things when we decided to go with them. Jeff stayed in contact with us, was willing to talk through our concerns, and answered many questions. When the guys came out to take care of the replacement, they did so quickly, and made sure everything worked and provided a quick tutorial of the new thermostats, etc. Both new units and the furnace replacement were completed within a few short hours, and only took one afternoon for the total overhaul. After the compressor went out and my one was 88 degrees, I contacted Keiser, the ones who installed the system for Ryan Homes only 5 years ago and was treated with little respect and put on a waitlist. Speedy and honest service! My AC started screeching any time it was running. I felt terrible for my neighbors but also it's over 90 degrees outside so... after calling a few companies who could come out for DAYS, I called Heritage, got voicemail, and received a quick text back within minutes from the owner Jeff. They squeezed me in the very next day. Josh came to look at my 1995 beast of a machine. Of course, it had temporarily stopped making the noise but Josh took the initiative to hook up his own sprayer & hose, clean the AC coil out, and measure the compressor pressure after the cleaning. Told me the fan motor was probably the culprit, but instead of trying to sell it to me on the spot, gave me info so I could confirm if/when the unit started making noise again. So nice to not instantly be told to replace the unit - which is what usually happens any time the smallest thing requires a service call. This review is about a month late but as someone who works in a corporate marketing department I understand the importance of authentic, quality reviews. The Sunday after Thanksgiving my wife and I woke up to a somewhat frigid house. After running through everything knew to check with the hvac I spent probably a good hour researching the best company to call. And on a weekend at that. There were 4 or 5 companies close to my house in the Percy Priest are that I could have called but they all had a series of compliments and complaints that screamed of inconsistent service. After expanding my search area I came across Heritage. I have to admit that at first glance I was skeptical of all the 5-star reviews on Yelp so I checked Google. Same thing. Then I checked Angie's list. Same thing. Their website said they were closed but I called anyway to leave a message in hopes of getting a response first thing Monday. My call was actually answered and not by an answering service but the owner himself, Jeff Parks. After explaining my problem and all the things I had already checked to Jeff, he did something that I've never experienced before. Over the phone he walked me through several diagnostic checks of my hvac unit to help pinpoint the issue. The unit was running but we had no heat. After narrowing the issue down to two parts Jeff then tells me he has time to come to come out. Unfortunately, because of the specific part needed we didn't have heat but the problem was still a simple one. He also pointed out a problem on our second upstairs unit that I hadn't even noticed. Monday morning another tech came and we had heat again along with some other much needed maintenance of the unit. Heritage is the ONLY HVAC company you need to know in the Middle Tennessee area! We lived in Franklin for many years, and suffered through the process of dealing with the well-known and well-advertised companies, including those that want you to have a monthly contract so they can come out every once and a while and tell you all is well. I looked Heritage up after waiting 1 week for my "favorite" company at the time to contact me (the unit they put in 3 years prior was fine, but the upstairs unit was on its last leg). Because it wasn't our only unit, they didn't prioritize the visit during the hottest week of the year. I contacted Jeff by email (it's listed) one evening after dinner, and had scheduled an appointment for the next day within a couple of hours. We recently moved to Murfreesboro this past winter, and I negotiated a warranty into the purchase of the house. It was like deja vu all over again when the warrantee company's choice or HVAC repair technicians couldn't fix things. I emailed Jeff and he sent Chris out the next day. My most recent experience was a little different. A propane fireplace came with our new house. Apparently Atmos never thought to extend into our neighborhood (their pipeline junction is at the line, in the city, where our neighborhood starts). Earlier this year, we tried to get a chimney sweep company and the local propane distributor out but for one lame excuse or another the work never got done. I was not about to trust my own skills with a gas line -- even one that connected to a tank that reminded me of a gas grill. So I shot off an email to Jeff asking if he knew anyone who service fireplaces. He advised that he did -- his technicians, coincidentally. Chris was patient with the seven year old, never-before-used fireplace and did very well at explaining the troubleshooting process to the nosey homeowner. My favorite part was when I called the manufacturer just to see if there was a special secret they knew of and waited on hold while Chris did the troubleshooting. When I finally got someone on the phone I asked about resetting the internal regulator, since the instruction manual said it could close if the pressure from the external regulator was too high. The company representative said the internal regulator was shut down forever if the external regulator overloaded it and that a new one was needed, and I could either order one from them and wait a week or two or head on over to my local Lowe's. I looked at the phone in wonder, thinking how little sense it made for them to have disposable $40 parts. At that precise moment, Chris walked back into the house and I told him what the representative had said, and he replied, "or I could fix it," and he did. It was classic. read more

I was happy with Heritage in the past and they came through to help us with a cooling issue we had a number of years ago. But after that time, I've found it very difficult to work with them. When I have tried to schedule regular maintenance, I've been told that they were too busy to even put me on the schedule. We had a heating issue this weekend and when I texted them/referenced that I had been trying to schedule regular maintenance but nobody would schedule me, I found that the response was a very rude "that was for your a/c!." We always maintain both units at the same time. I took my business elsewhere to someone that was at my house within 20 minutes and easy to work with. Maybe Heritage has gotten too big, I'm not entirely sure. But honestly I was really disappointed with the last three interactions I've had with them and we won't be back. Two words sum up Heritage: unbeatable service. I would put them up against any HVAC provider - anywhere. They installed a new HVAC for me in January when my 21 year old unit died on the coldest day of the year. Today, my unit was not running. I immediately called Jeff (who uses his cell number as the main line for the business) and he promptly texted me because he could not speak on the phone at that time. All of his technicians were out on calls. Rather than tell me I would have to wait until tomorrow, Jeff spent his evening helping me diagnose and solve the problem via text, pictures, and a couple of phone calls. As it turns out, it's not an HVAC problem at all. The GFI outlet used to power the condenser and the condensation pump is not working. So no telling how long the unit wasn't cooling and I didn't know any HVAC in the area so went to Yelp and read the reviews...which are accurate. Jeff returned my text within 5 minutes and set up an appointment time for 3 hours later. Josh (I think) was very professional and knowledgeable. He could have easily done a fairly expensive valve replacement but said he didn't want to see my elderly parents pay for a replacement valve unless he was 100% it was needed and advised to just let the unit settle out over a few days after adding coolant. Due to an ongoing issue that wasn't being properly resolved by another company, I came to yelp.com to see about another heating/air conditioning company. Heritage did not disappoint! During our conversation, the gentleman said, wait a minute, back up, back ALL THE WAY UP, you've been without air all weekend? That is unacceptable. You had me at hello! :) Within 20 minutes they were here, and within an hour of their being here they had fixed everything. We were initially told that it was a Carrier WeatherMaker two-zone system board. In fact it was an incorrectly wired thermostat, a blown transformer, and something or other broken on the outside unit. No board was needed. I highly recommend Heritage, not only for their empathetic caring and understanding of our lack of air with 2 children in our home, not only for their prompt arrival, not only for their ability to see and fix what was wrong, but also for their polite, professional conduct (they spoke very highly of the other company - and that was a very classy thing to do - I appreciated that). Our old Rheem AC lasted an astonishing 23 years well beyond it's serviceability when we decided it was high time for a new HVAC system. We got in touch with Jeff and had a great consultation who unlike the other companies, was able to find a solution for a bigger more efficient Amana dual fuel heat pump system for us and comfortably fit it in our limited height crawl space area. His crew did a fantastic job with the install absolutely no stone unturned, clean as a whistle and also sorted out an our furnace gas vent that was not installed properly and not within codes by guess who, some company called Lee. They also updated our thermostat with the eCobee system that in itself is fabulous. Since early summer 2020 we have achieved a 30% decrease in electrical and propane energy costs, we only had to fill our propane tank twice this winter instead of three times, also had plenty left over from the second filling, even our gas supplier noticed the drastic difference. I couldn't be happier with the Amana heat pump, does an amazing job of keeping our house extremely comfortable even down to 35 degree outside temps, they are extremely efficient, quiet and dependable..
