Hands-down, the worst dry cleaner available likely in the state of Oregon. It starts from the beginning when I first walk up to be helped. Never is it quick. Someone yells,"someone will be right with you," yet no one is ever RIGHT with me. They are slow. Making me the customer, feel unimportant. Next, I've never experienced a dry cleaner who has such a hard time keeping my laundry together. They've lost numerous items of mine. It got so bad they had replace a few items. When this happens they acted like it was my fault. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. In reality, I am not seeking them to replace the items, I want MY items back. They just don't seem to understand that. They do a very good job at making you feel like it's your fault and not theirs. And finally, I want to address the fact that when I get my clothes back from this dry cleaner, they stink. I know I'm not the only one to experience this. It got so bad that I had to switch dry cleaners. Obviously, I wasn't aware of all these things until I experience it myself. Overall, a terrible experience. They never have a legitimate manager available. And when you do ask for someone who has a brain on their head, you'll never find one. . Allow me, a long time customer of The Cleanery. Some would consider me "well-versed" or a seasoned dry cleaner. With that said Id like to share with you my experience... 1) customer service is chipper, with great intention and respect. more than not I am helped by someone whos been there for at least long enough to work the POS system properly. one less than superb transaction with an employee still learning the computer system IS NOT going to influence my decision or "rating." overall 5 stars! with Kathleen being a peach of a person and seemingly an owner worth working for. bonus points by going to The Cleanery- YOURE SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES! 2) quality goes even beyond 5 stars here. I have never used dry cleaning services in my life before I came here. I had white pants that had stains all over them & decided to try the Cleanery! They got them looking literally brand new which I didn't think was possible! They were so dirty and more brown than white when I brought them in. Even after I washed them myself! The girl working at the front desk couldn't answer my questions about how dry cleaning works, so it would've been helpful if she was more knowledgeable, but she was very nice and welcoming! I was able to google search and figure it out myself. It only cost $9 for my one pair of jeans and I definitely say it's worth it! I'm not sure how much it cost for more, but things that are super stained or are dry clean only - I say the price it totally worth it! Expensive. Laundered shirts $5/ea. Dry cleaned pants $9/ea. My order was three days late because, I was told, someone forgot to do my order the first day, then they were short staffed next day so chose to do a large order for a hotel instead. Poor service and bad to their employees causing high turn around. The employees there the longest are there because of being friends with management, Kathleen, Amber runs the show mostly for Kathleen and stuck with the customers wondering why their stuff isn't ever done. If you aren't friends they won't like you, by friends I mean drinking buddies everyday down at the delta bar Monday to Friday, Kathleen can even wait until 11:30 am most days. When you call for help in the evenings because you are closing you will never get a sober Kathleen. You have to bother Amber and that's hard when she's on vacation and tells everyone to not bother her. They hire school students and put the work they can't do because they have "homework" or "big test coming up" all on you. I've seen people run that place all alone on the weekend, just one person doing orders, laundry and helping customers. Sandra was normally that person. I was fired because after working pressing line for six months that should have gave me $2 an hr raise I was told I wouldn't get so I said "ok then I'm going back to nights" I didn't enjoy the crap talk they did all day anyways, grown women 30s to 50s making fun of customers and theirs clothes, trying in their clothes and sexual harassment going on, girls to guys, I had enough anyways. They fired me. But not after the owner, Ron who loved me and hated to let me go and understood it was wrong but as he told me "I can't fire my daughter so I have to let you go" then make me $100 out of his own wallet and told me to "call him when I had two dimes to rub together". He also told he wouldn't fight my unemployment, his daughter did and they had caught her in three lies and I showed my proof, I save all text messages, I won. I ran into an ex coworker and she asked how i was doing and was shocked i had got unemployment because Kathleen has bragged and talked about me and how I wasn't going to get it. Well I smiled and let her know that I did and I rode it until the end. 1st time ever filing unemployment and i honestly did it out of spite to her. She lways would brag how they NEVER payout unemployment. Lol well they did. read more

Thank you so much Sandra! 7/10/21 Brought in my comforter in a plastic Ralph Lauren Bag - was quoted $25.00 for the comforter on my ticket to launder last week. When I came to pick it up I was charged $45.00 and they did not return the plastic Ralph Lauren bag. I complained and the price was reduced to $36.00 which now had to include two extra pillow covers I was told. $11.00 for pillow covers is pretty high for two pillow covers in my opinion and why was that not in the original quote when the contents of the comforter is clearly written on the bag and it's brand new? I asked for my bag back and (Sandra) couldn't find it and offered me a plain plastic one - (which I appreciated her looking for it, and offering me a sub, and also reducing the charge and being polite) but I explained that I wanted the one I dropped it off in, which I assumed would be returned to me. She said "most customers don't even bother with the bag"- which may be the case sometimes but I wanted to bother with it. I would imagine some folks want their bag back as they are good for storage. I appreciate the price reduction but was still not happy. It wasn't a horrible experience because the price was reduced and the lady helping me was polite but it still didn't feel like a great experience overall. I am disappointed. I should have been charged the price I was quoted. The comforter is not laundered softly and looks faded - it was brand new when I brought it in. read more

This is a cleaners I used regularly in the past. That was then; this is now. Not one assurance they gave me regarding the "professional" laundering of my simple white cotton bedroom cafe curtains was true. I explained I must have them by Friday as I had BNB guests coming in. I went back on Friday to pick them up and THE CURTAINS HAD NOT EVEN BEEN TOUCHED. After assurances that they would be ready Saturday, my husband drove back out there to pick up the laundry. When I opened the plastic surrounding the curtains I discovered they did not even look like they had been washed. But they had been ironed--and were full of vertical wrinkles pressed into the simple white cotton fabric. I opened the rest of the laundry and discovered a piece missing. I asked my husband for the receipt so I could double check my memory. It was then I discovered that the piece had indeed been given to them. They had simply neglected to return it. However, I also discovered I had also been charged $36. for washing and ironing two scraps of white cotton (dresser/bureau scarves) that they listed as table cloths. Really? A table cloth 22 inches wide by 33 inches long? I called them and protested the overcharge at which time the speaker exuberantly told me they had just found my missing article and we could come out and pick it up. This was 9 days after the order had been guaranteed to be ready. I thanked them and mentioned the over-charge. The person to whom I spoke told me that the charge was incorrect and the charge would be adjusted. She also said that only a "manager" could adjust the bill and give me credit for their mistake. The clerk also told me I would have to come out during the week to speak to a "manager." When we did this return trip I was handed my "lost" item. Attached to the item was a sealed envelope. I opened the envelope. In it was a $10. credit for a $26 overcharge--less than half of what they owed me. I said that amount was unacceptable. I asked to speak to the manager. The three clerks unanimously chorused that there was no "manager" available and that I should come back later. Poor workmanship, poor customer service, lack of dependibility and credibility are not qualities I value when doing business. read more

Do not recommend. I took my comforter in for cleaning in June. I had purchased inSeptember of last year and put right on my bed. First cleaning ever. Still in cellophane when I got it out yesterday. I found a tear close to the hem as if caught in a door. All stitching holding stuffing gone as if disintegrated, and stuffing in clumps near the 4 corners of comforter. I could damaged on my own at no cost. That is why I took it to the cleaners. The fact that they rolled it up and stuffed it in a bag speaks volumes! NEVER AGAIN! read more

I have to say good job Cleanery!!! I really appreciate the personal care and attention toward my recent call on my comforter. It's the season to bring out my thick and fluffy comforter. Well for some reason my comforter fluffy was pushed to one side. I called the Cleanery spoke to the manager who said just bring it down and we'll take care of it. Brought it down and found out the sewing that held the fluffy in place had all came apart. Manager mentioned the sewing will come apart after couple of washes but don't worry we'll take care of this and she apologized for the issue. Pretty happy again with The Cleanery! Oh. My. God. This was the WORST experience I've ever had with a dry-cleaner. Not only did it take 2 weeks for my simple jacket and blazer to be cleaned, but it was a terrible job. Short version: -4 visits, and 2 weeks to get my things back -Never called when they promised 3 times -Blazer came back with stains and holes -Snarky teenage girl who wanders around behind the desk If you value your items, wallet and time, do not go here. Long version: Honestly, the blazer doesn't even look like it's been cleaned, and they charged me $30 for the two items. After dropping the two items off, I was told that they'd be done the next day. So I arrived the next evening, thinking the extra few hours would ensure that they could keep their promise. Nope. After 15 minutes of the girl looking around for my items, she came back and said they weren't ready yet. They promised to call as soon as it's in. Ok. Fair enough, 1 day seemed optimistic. So I came back 2 days later. Once again, she couldn't locate my items, and after watching her search through racks, I pointed to the one in front of her (she'd check it 3 times already) and there was one of my items. She brought that to the front, and told me it'd be $30. I informed her that I had a second blazer. After searching for another 5 minutes, she made a call to someone else, and searched for 10 minutes while on the phone. Here I am, standing around for 20 minutes. Wen she finally returns and hang up, she tells me it's not done yet. Seriously? Seriously. Then she has the nerve to tell me I need to pay upfront because I can't leave with one item without paying the full amount for both. Even though days have gone by and I've yet to see it. So fine, I pay half, and she promises they will call me as soon as my blazer is in. (At this point it's been 1 week, and let me tell you- it was not it bad shape when I gave it to them.) So I leave with the promise that they'll call. 5 days later... nothing. So I stop by again, for the 4th time. Finally my blazer is there. There girl takes the blazer and places it on a rack in the darkest part of the store front and pulls me over to the cash register. She tells me it'll be $30. Are you kidding? I tell her I already had to pay half upfront for it, and it should be $15. So I pay $15. At this point, I just want out of there. I get the blazer home and it is covered in stains. Stains that were NOT there before. Not to mention the needle holes all over the arm. They ruined the blazer. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. If you value your items, wallet and time, do not go here. read more

We take laundry and dry cleaning here all the time. I've had a couple of instances where they haven't gotten the entire stain/the dirt out...but they warned me first that it might happen. I have had one time where something came back with a minor amount of damage. They fixed it cheerfully and immediately. They have FABULOUS turn-around time as a rule, but today I called them at 2pm to ask for a special favor - without mentioning that I'm a regular customer. We had forgotten to take some things in that we =need= before tomorrow at 5pm (they would normally have had what we brought in at that time ready at/after 5pm tomorrow). The woman I spoke with, Amanda, was great - she told me just to let them know when we brought our things in...they'd have it ready by 3pm no troubles! These folks really are great... :) read more

TW: Homophobia & Anti-Asian Racism. I went to The Cleanery at Village Plaza for the first time last week with a jacket that said "Okinawa" on the back. The woman at the counter said, "UGH, Okinawa, have you been?" I told her I hadn't but would like to. She said she had and hated it. I asked what she didn't like about it. She proceeded to tell me that she was stationed there in the military and there were "a lot of LESBIANS" in the military with her. When I didn't react to that (I am a queer person myself) she went on to say that the lesbians were all very mean and bullied her for not being gay (apparently despite the fact that it was illegal for them to be gay in the military at that time and at any moment she could have reported them and they could have lost their careers). Despite the homophobic comments I was still prepared to let them dry clean my coat. Then she continued, "Also Japanese... the language, the way it sounds.. I just find it really annoying. I hate the way they talk." At this point I picked up my jacket and told her I was no longer in need of their services and left. I was deeply upset by this interaction. Within 5 minutes of meeting me she felt comfortable enough to make these comments which says a lot about the culture of this business. Absolutely unacceptable. Picked up my tuxedo jacket on Monday after dropping it off Friday. Fresh from the cleaners, it was covered in hair and fuzz. I honestly cannot tell if it was cleaned at all. They botched my queen comforter. All the filling was bunched up in the corners and it wasn't even dry when I took it out of the bag. I've taken them a few of my work shirts in past from when I worked in a restaurant and they didn't get the sauce stains out either. Thank you for charging me to ruin my things. DONT DO IT !!!! Took one of my silk Tommy Bahama Camp shirts here with a couple small spots, it came back with what looked like many large grease stains. Sent it back and it came back looking the same way. I took it to another professional dry cleaner down the street and was told that the cleanery had either used the wrong product or too much of what they were using. At any rate I was told By two different employees who were both very nice I might add that a manager or owner would call me, never happened. The owner of this place is a coward and knows nothing about customer service and hangs his employees out to dry rather than actually speaking to unhappy customers. This was a new shirt worn 3 times after having purchased for $120.00. The solution was to comp me approx. $20 of service which fell well short of my purchase price. Never, Never, Never again will I spend one more dollar here and strongly recommend nobody else do so either! read more

Way too expensive for laundering queen size quilt. 30.00...not dry cleaning. What the hec?

DO NOT COME HERE. Took my couch covers in for a wet clean (Friday) and to fix two broken zippers ( they broke them the first time I went in and did not tell me), they said my covers would be done Thursday and that to fix the zippers it'd be an extra $8, that's fine whatever. Thursday comes around and I call before I go in, they said they'd be done the next morning after 10, a little inconvenient but okay. Friday morning I go in and I'm met with the nicest guy just trying to do his job and can't find my covers so he says they'll be done at 5, there was a lady (hiding in the back) who then snapped at him and said "always after 5 not at 5!" Extremely unprofessional. So I go in later in the day 7pm and its the same guy and same lady(still hiding in the back) the young man can't seem to find my order so he asks her and she tells him to tell us they're not done. At this point I'm livid, they were halfway done! Who leaves an order half finished! I then yell across the empty room at her to come out to talk to me! Apparently whoever press' doesn't work weekends so I can't get my covers until the following Monday, I ask if I can get them delivered due to the inconvenience and she says "delivery is for customers who are busy and hotels"..... who tf?! I get it I look young, but Jesus Christ whatever happened to customer service?! After some back and forth she finally lets me get a delivery and I pay for them right then and there. When they get delivered Monday there was no knock on the door, I was leaving and found my covers sitting in front of my door with a note that says I owe them $35 for the ZIPPERS! The zippers they broke! To make matters worse as I'm putting the cover back on my couch (yes, I was sitting on the floor for well over a week) the zipper broke! I'm not paying them a dime more and I suggest you don't either! read more

We've been bringing hubby's shirts to the west eugene location for over 8 years now. Service is always prompt and polite. When something seemingly important is left in a pocket, they will call me right away and let me decide what to do. He always looks perfectly pressed.
