That other company looked to take advantage of that and quoted my father a price of $10,000 to replace it. I got involved and looked for other options and was truly fortunate to find J&D Windows and Doors. First off, the price was a FRACTION of what the first company quoted, but more than that David really took in a genuine interest in discussing all the options with my father so that my father was comfortable knowing he was getting exactly what he wanted. The other company took a more cookie cutter approach and was more interested in seeing dollar signs than customer satisfaction.. Due to Covid, supply was interrupted so the new window couldn't be installed when initially scheduled. That had nothing to do with J&D but David still gave my father a discount due to the inconvenience. Completely unnecessary but most appreciated and just a classy move on his part. All told, the work to take out the old bay and put in the new took little more than a morning with a little finishing to be done the next day. The result was amazing and my father was completely overjoyed with the result and I echo how well it turned out. I and my father, recommend J&D thoroughly, absolutely and whole heartedly.

I recently purchased a used glass display cabinet off of Craigslist. It had warped, dirty and…read moredisgusting plywood shelves. As part of the rehabilitation of the case I purchased new glass shelves from this company. They were very friendly to work with over the phone, and when I arrived in person they were even more helpful. The purpose of my display case is to store model trains, and they had a staff member who was familiar with this hobby so we chatted about that for a while. The two glass shelves were quoted a reasonable price, and they were ready to pick up within a day or two. When I got them home, however, the didn't fit. I had ordered them based on the dimensions of the warped plywood, and they were about 1/16" too long. After talking with them on the phone about it, they offered to cut them shorter (and didn't even charge me despite me offering to pay them for this additional work). Again, they were done within a day or two. The only downside that I can think of is their hours: M-F from 8-4:30. That is fine if you work or live near there, but I had to go on my lunch breaks and that was a bit of a hassle. They are surrounded by chain link fences and gates so easy after-hours drop offs or pick-ups aren't an option.

The warranty has to be transferred within an unrealistic amount of time from the purchase date - only 30 days and with a transfer fee - or else each window is charged. They must count on this nonsense and the chaos of a move to void out many of their warranties on their faulty products. We are within 90 days of the move and finally getting around to less urgent tasks and we are miffed at this pedantic policy. Complete BS.

A couple of weeks later when the snow melted I realized that there was a lot of debris on my roof, in my gutters, and on the front lawn. There were hundreds of little shards of plastic from where Jason had cut up the old windows. I called Window World three times because I wanted to have somebody come and take a look to make sure that everything was done properly with the installation, and to see all the debris. That was six weeks ago. Each time I called, the person I spoke with knew nothing about the installation process. I assume that they only know how to make appointments for salesman. In any event when I did call, they promised that somebody would call me back the next day. Six weeks later, I'm still waiting for a call back.

The windows dropped quickly, frightening our cats, Ginger and Spice, who often slept on the window sills, at great peril. As they leaped to safety, their hearts skipped a beat, as did ours. My wife and I contracted with Renewal by Andersen to replace 12 windows, and on the scheduled day, Amir and his team arrived promptly and began removing the defective windows and installing new ones, with Energy Star ratings. Amir and his co-workers covered furniture with plastic to insure it kept free of dust, minimized the creation of debris, carted away all old windows and frames and completed their work in two days. The team acted professionally, and even avoided playing music, so I could operate my home-based business, without disruption. At the end of their work, Amir showed me how to tilt the upper and lower windows for easy cleaning, and provided me with information on potential tax savings available with our new energy-efficient windows. I called Jim, he showed up at my house, examined each window and found about 2/3 of them had their seals compromised and blown out and that's why my windows were turning colors yellow and orange. It was terrible! Well, he came in with a price of about 5k and he replaced every screen on the house, sliding door screen included! When the replacement windows came in (each one was ordered to exact size and spec), his installation team came, headed by his son. It was unbelievable watching them work!
