I recently had some condensation after swimming in the ocean and he was able to clear, clean and identify the issue with the gasket inside the crown. This place came recommended to me from a friend who had been quoted something like $200 at another shop and came here and got a simple fix for five bucks. So I brought in a little room clock I have with a pendulum that was too noisy for my son to sleep by. While there was apparently no adjustment that could be made to fix my problem on my overly enthusiastic clock, I was given several pieces of advice free of charge, one of which is a way to secure the pendulum at night to solve the problem for sleep. I have a very old Sessions table clock that needed repair. It's well over 60+ years old & began to make a loud buzzing sound. After searching & reviewing antique clock repair, I decided to bring it to The Clock Man for service. Unfortunately, old electric clocks are unrepairable due to parts not being available. The technician suggested that he could remove the face of the clock or drill a hole in the back and replace the mechanism with a battery operated one, meaning I will no longer be able to plug-in the clock because it would solely run on batteries. I elected not to do this. This was my grandparents clock given to them decades ago. I brought it home and plugged it into the socket - - no loud buzzing anymore and it wasn't doing anything, no movement of any kind. Happy to report, after leaving it plugged in for more than an hour, miraculously, it came back to life! It's working again! This is my favorite watch repair store !!! Thanks Yelp for the awesome rec! If I could, I'd give this store 10 stars!!! I brought my new watch in (thanks boo!) to get the band adjusted. Band adjustment: $10-$15 depending on the watch. Mine was $15, but the Yelp check in 50% offer reduced my price down to $7.50!! Make sure to check in! They also have $10 for $20 deal :) I honestly didn't notice the magnificent grandfather clocks on my way in because I was only focused on getting my watch band adjusted. Mr. Siva Moc, the watch repairman, greatfully helped me. He was very friendly, knowledgable, and honest. He made no scratches what so ever to my watch and removed the links for me very carefully ! While waiting for Mr. Siva and admiring all the clocks in the store, one clock in particular caught my eye!! The Comitti of London Grasshopper skeleton clock see pic)!!! Mike, the manager of the store (sorry if I got your title wrong and thank you so much!!!) informed me that The Grasshopper is based on the world's first marine chronometer made by the world's most famous clockmaker John Harrison! The Grasshopper was stored in a crystal glass canopy and stationed above a solid oak case, which included a key drawer (for the 24k gold plated key starter) and a book called "Longitude" (retelling John Harrison's quest to creating his breathtaking clock!). It has silver plated dials with 8 day HAND MADE solid brass fusee movement, hand polished/plated!!! He started the movement by inserting the 24k gold key through the crystal glass case and turning it in clockwise motion to let the magic begin! I was quite mesmerized and amazed by each and every movement of The Grasshopper. I couldn't even hear a thing, that's how quiet the movement was. The clock is operated by two connecting pendulums, which gauged for the motion of a ship! He walked me over to one of the grandfather clocks also made by The Comitti in London, The Trafalgar (see pic)!!! The dial plate and added decorations were literally hand painted with acrylic paints by the artist!! The clock is beauuutifulll!! I was just in awe of all these majestic grandfather clocks. I hope to own one someday lol. I should really start saving up now!!! My BF and I are going to London in early February and I'm going to drag him to the Comitti store hahahaha! I actually had to go back to the store a few hours later because I wanted to readd a link to my watch band. Mr. Siva gladly and swiftly readded it for me! Over Black Friday I bought a brand new watch for a great price. However, as most watches purchased at a department store, my watch had a dead battery within days after I bought it. As I was killing time, I Yelped for the closest and best clock store around Fullerton and The Clock Man was the one with the highest ratings. When I walked into the store, it was filled with all types of analog clocks throughout the store. A treasure trove of different time machines could be found from wall to wall. As I walked closer to the counter, a tall gentleman wearing a hat introduced himself and asked what help I needed. I spoke to him about needing a new battery for my watch and he said which one. I took off the watch from my wrist and he took it and said it'd be $10. I told him about the Yelp deal and as he handed over the watch to his cohorts behind him, he helped me check in. I didn't get passed the sale, so I don't know how to rate them. Perhaps you will have a better experience than I did. I arrived and was greeted fine, however that changed fast and I was left feeling very uncomfortable/unwelcomed. A younger gentleman asked how he could help me and another man (perhaps dad) interrupted him, whispered to him in another language in front of me, then proceeded to help me. It was a Gucci watch that was not working so I assumed that the battery was just bad. The tech works on my watch and finds that the last battery swap had damaged some connections that caused this watch to stop working. Had some watches that had been sitting for some time. I had an old chronograph that wasn't working correctly the last time the battery was replaced and was ready to replace the movement. If needed. Came in, he replaced the battery and the quartz movement was properly reset. It started working like it did when new. He then noticed some band pins were broken and promptly replaced them too. I was happy to see there are true craftsman that still take pride in their work. I had him order a new crystal and wore it until the part came in. The watch never skipped a beet. Dropped it off and when I picked it up I was ecstatic. The crystal looks fantastic and he gave the whole watch a cleaning and polish! I had the Chinese gentleman assist me. He fixed my watch at the last minute only after I called and followed up. I could definitely notice as well. I requested he fix the watch in a specific way so the watch can look a certain way, but he likely forgot as he was in such a rush and just put it together made sure it was working and called me to have me pick it up. Now I either have to get a different band or go to another shop and see if they can fix what he did. Definitely only go here for basic basic maintenance. read more

I felt compelled to write this review the very same day of service. I finally set up the grandfather clock that I inherited from my grandparents - it hadn't been wound in some 4 years. The clock clearly needed some TLC, as the chimes sounded a couple of minutes early, often with the incorrect number of strikes, and didn't always finish in a timely fashion. I contacted The Clock Man to set up an in-home appointment. Matt was on time and personable. Importantly, everything he told me regarding the time keeping of the movement and the need for a major overhaul was exactly what I was expecting, especially given what I knew about the clock from my grandmother. In short - I feel like he was knowledgeable, but didn't try to push me into an immediate decision that would cost me some significant dough. In fact, I was quite surprised that Matt said it could be 5-10 years before a rebuild of the movement would be due. Whew! Decided to try this place to get my battery replaced on one of my watches. I came in at around 3pm on a Monday and I was out within 10 minutes. I was so happy with the service that I decided to come back the next day to get a few more watch batteries replaced. I came in around lunch time so the watch guy wasn't there. However, I was able to leave all four watches there and I came back at the end of the day to pick them up. He honored the check-in offer and discounted one of the more expensive battery replacements. The owner according to the website is Mr Fitch who did NOT attend to my needs; instead it was another person. This other guy impressed me as far less than qualified. Why, you ask? I brought in my 50 year old clock that has a Hermle wind-up movements that I had maintained for 40 years. . .cleaning and lubricating. The movement had stopped due to an elongated hole in the back brass plate into which a gear's axle is mounted (no bronze or jeweled bushing; hence wear after 50 years). I asked for an estimate without any comment about my findings or service. Without removing the 4 screws that allow the movement to be extracted and examined, the guy told me the old oil had turned to grease and "gummed up" the mechanism. He initially asked $400 to clean & lubricated, but a bit into our discussion he raised the price to $495. I, having worked on the clock before, knew it was in need of a retro-fitted bushing - something I could not install. I left the shop and purchased a new bushed movement by Hermle for $400. read more
