Enjoyed lunch with my wife at The Coal Docks Restaurant in Cape Vincent NY 11/4/18. We each chose their homemade tuna noodle casserole which turned out be be absolutely delicious. It came with a house salad. The atmosphere was great, the wait staff attentive and we enjoyed a personal visit/chat with one of the owners. My friend and I went through Coal Docks for dinner a couple of nights ago. It was a Thursday and it was a little after 7pm so I thought we would get a table with no problem. There were no empty tables so we sat at high table across from the small bar. The fact that the place was full is a testament to the food as well as the service. We had a delicious meal and I would recommend anyone to try this place. We will definitely make a return visit. Came in the winter and had amazing service and food. Wonderful atmosphere. Today, was a special menu but they were accommodating to my food allergy and the good is decently priced and good quality. Love this new little place! The menu is wonderful; food homemade and well-prepared fresh and hot! Coffee is wonderful, and the breakfast is amazing. Have had all 3 meals there and dinner is my favorite. Lunch was a bit pricey for 2 cups of soup, two iced teas and a slice of bread, but delicious. Will restrict our visits just due to the prices, but it is a treat to eat there. The decor is 100% relevant, adorable and very stylishly done! Love the table settings, lovely plates, coffee mugs and the service is first class with staff that is friendly, professional and well dressed. We have come here several times over the last few years and the food is always amazing. They have unique specials everyday that never disappoint. What really makes this restaurant stand out though is the customer service. The staff is friendly and the owner is extremely engaged with all of the customers and always goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied with your meal. Went there for dinner . Waited an hour plus and there were only 4 other couples in the establishment. Ordered the prime rib sandwich . It was a few slices of prime rib , not much in between 2 , Two inches slices of bread then the poured easily a good cup of gravy on it . It was in my opinion really bad . I would never go there again . Sandwich was gross wait was beyond dumb and they are very over priced . However if you got time to kill and money to blow and want a sub par meal give them a try . Once again we had an excellent meal and service. Their website is spot on and don't hesitate to ask for anything you've ever had previously as they will accommodate you. I don't think a previous entry was fair since is was entered prior to the ice cream stand even was open. The bathrooms are spotless. read more

My sister was coming from VT, all I bragged about was this awesome place in Cape Vincent. We had our reservations made then the Covid-19 hit. So my family and I did take out the first weekend all restaurant's were ordered to do take out only. Marcie and her staff were WONDERFUL! She went above and beyond to give us the fine dinning experience at home, as if we were eating at the restaurant. Do love going there, can't wait for us to be able to eat in again. I had a fabulous lunch at Coal Docks 8/16/19. It was my first visit and Kate our server was very attentive answering all my questions about the Seafood Chowder and other items on the menu. The chowder is very different from what one would get in New England. The broth was not thick, had a delicious taste and we were trying to distinguish different spices. The chowder was filled with fish, not potatoes, containing fresh perch, a local fish caught year round, shrimp, clams, and one other fish I can't recall. This would be a great take home chowder and as it cools down I will definitely do this for an evening meal. Kate was attentive did not mind that we asked for separate checks. There is a Bake Shop, everything looked delicious. I plan on going back this week for another delicious meal. read more

Horrible experience. Don't recommend to anyone. Family and I were seated and no one came by to ask for drink orders or anything. Staff out number patrons and we made eye contact w/ several employees. After 20 mins of silence we decided to leave. As we were leaving the the staff near the front said; "Oh your leaving, No one helped you yet? We didn't know, etc." Understandable if restaurant was busy, in this case we were literally one of the few families in there. We were seated by the staff and we were at a table directly within eye sight of all staff members malingering near the front. Just recently moved to area, this visit to the Coal Docks will ensure my family and friends will not go near this horrible establishment. read more

We stopped here on the rainy Sunday morning of our Labor Day vacay. The day might have been gloomy but after leaving the coal docks our day became so much brighter . The line was long but let me tell you it was worth the wait. The food was phenomenal and made with love. the owner made sure all of her customers were happy and was so sweet- even brought my boyfriend out some more of her fresh perch without hesitation. can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. Service is incredible! We came in as a large party (6 adults, 4 kids, 2 babies) and the owner, Marcie, welcomed us, engaged with us, and made us feel like locals (even though we live 1000 miles away!) Sarah, our waitress, was super attentive, very friendly and accommodating! Food was hot, fresh, delicious. Wish we came in earlier and tasted breakfast, but lunch was awesome! read more

My husband and I are visiting from out of town with our 3 month old, and stopped at the Coal Docks for lunch. We were so happy with our experience! Not only was the place so cute and unique, but the food was great and the staff was super friendly. I had the crab cake blt and he had the Clapsaddle - both were delicious. A wonderful place! We were in town for 2 days and stopped here for breakfast. So great we came back the next day! The food is excellent, the staff was fantastic and friendly and the decor is filled with art and local history with a homage to local veterans. Can't ask for more and can't ask for better! read more

So glad we found this place. Have been about five times now. Everything we have tried has been delicious. Don't leave without buying some baked goods. The cinnamon bread makes awesome french toast. Only complaint is sometimes the wait staff get busy and are slow with refills on drinks. read more
