We had a great breakfast. Traditional diner food but a lot of great combos and everything was served quick, fresh and delicious.

Updating my review for Summer 2026: We are camping at Kring Point with our adult children and, as is tradition, we get breakfast at the diner at least twice on our 2 week trip (always on rainy days). Today we visited Wolfe's, second time this trip, and were disappointed by the quality of the home fries...again. Both times we visited the home fries were burnt and literally dripping with grease. They looked like refried leftovers; chewy and flavorless with a big pile of burnt fry crumbs underneath - just yuck! The service at Wolfe's has always been friendly and the food is served quickly and in generous portions. And you certainly cannot beat the cabin-feel atmosphere! However, the menu lists breakfast entrees come with a side of toast. I ordered the eggs benedict and asked for wheat toast on side. On our bill I was charged $1.99 for the toast as "a side." When I pointed out to the waitress that breakfast entrees come with toast, according to the menu, she argued that since there is an English muffin in the entree, so it's not included. Call me petty, but either the menu is incorrect or one of us is not reading carefully. The $1.99 charge stayed (I didn't even bring up the terrible home fries!). Not sure when or why the change at Wolfe's. We used to really love this place, and have been coming for years. But after 2 bad experiences in 2 weeks, we will explore the many other diner options in the Alex Bay area. read more

Partner and I stopped by this diner for breakfast in Alexandria Bay during Labor Day weekend (Sunday). The place was packed and when we saw 2 open seats at the counter we immediately grabbed them. There were 7-8 tickets continuously being worked on and people were calling in orders for pick up too. We both had the Kountry Slam, hers with scrambled eggs/sausage links/wheat toast and mine with bacon/eggs over medium/rye toast. They also had sausage patties if we wanted. My bacon was meaty, not the skimpy skinny kind and the sausage links weren't over seasoned and had a little spice! The home fries were very tasty. You could tell this is a favorite spot for the locals and something told us that they do a brisk business for lunch as well. read more

I feel sad that I have to leave such a bad review. Because the server was very sweet and prompt. But to be perfectly honest, the food was absolutely disgusting. I ordered the vegetarian scramble. The eggs were overcooked, the potatoes were rancid, and there were very few other vegetables. The toast was stale and had gone bad. I honestly cannot recommend for anyone to eat here. read more

Excellent experience! Staff was super welcoming and friendly. Our waitress said it was her first day on the job. She was great. The food was outstanding. We went in for breakfast and they had a full breakfast menu and a ton of Specials. Most breakfasts came with choice of toast. My husband ordered the roast beef hash. It was great flavor, perfect spice, crispy onions, jalapeños, and nice runny yolks in the sunny side up eggs. My friend and I both ordered the hash brown topper special with bacon. He got his with scrambled eggs and I got mine with sunny side up eggs. It was amazing! It was cheesy hash browns and eggs smothered in sausage gravy. All three of us ate everything on our plates. I was in Alex Bay for the weekend and we ate here both mornings. Nothing fancy but good home cooking. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and fast. I had the ham and cheese omelet. I've been a fan of the Kountry Kottage for years. We always stop here for breakfast at least once while camping at Kring Point. Hard to believe, but under new ownership it may have actually gotten better. I always get the same thing: roast beef hash with eggs and toast. (Although I believe it used to be corned beef hash under prior ownership) Not many places do hash to my liking, but this place does it. Tender, craggy pieces of potato that crisp up just right. This new version even felt faintly healthy, with pieces of green pepper thrown in. They also have Frank's hot sauce on the table. Don't even have to ask if they have it. That goes a long way in winning me over. The chef had a box of tomatoes and banana peppers from her garden she was offering everyone to take for free! The only point against this place is they were out of the cinnamon rolls this time. Ask and those get split in half and fried on the skillet. Next time! read more

Best damn breakfast ever. My cousin had the 2-2-2 and I had the Country Fried Steak. It's all homemade and cooked to perfection. Fast service, hot, and even when it's busy. The only recommendation I have is to maybe sit outside. The tables are way to close together in times like these. I was literally siting almost shoulder to shoulder overlapped by the table next to me. I will be back, but next time definitely a booth. read more

Loved the atmosphere here! From the down-home welcome when we walked in, the Adirondack feel and nature theme and the friendly service. Seemed like a place for regulars and tourists. They serve breakfast all day and had lunch. We enjoyed the Kountry Slam and Roast beef hash which wasn't too greasy like most hash is. This is a very nice place to go eat. Keep in mind it is very loud in here. The sausage and gravy was excellent, the sausage gravy was homemade. The toast is regular bread toast so it's not very big slice wise. The eggs Benedict is simply two eggs kind of poached on a homemade English muffin portion size it seems to be small. We had several cups of coffee and the consistency was off so it seems as though the coffee was being made different each time. For the amount of food that you get this place is somewhat pricey. read more

My food came out Luke warm and the pancake was rock hard, like I was cutting a steak. The interior isn't very clean. The service was okay but they up charged us and added extra to our final total on our bill. Glass of milk was $6. INSANE. Try somewhere else or cook for yourself. read more

Great roadside diner outside of Alex Bay! We came here looking for a hardy breakfast and were totally satisfied. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by one of the servers yelling out "welcome to Wolfe's Kountry Kottage please seat yourself!!" and we did. We were quickly attended to by another friendly server and given hot diner coffee and waters. I ordered the veggie frittata and my partner chose the roast beef hash. We ordered an extra side of home fries, which as it turned out we didn't actually need, as both our orders came with a plentiful amount of them. Our food came out quickly and it was hot and yummy! Home fries were crispy and seasoned! There were mountainous, fluffy homemade pies in a display case, and I would have certainly tried a slice if I wasn't totally stuffed after eating breakfast! Next time... I highly recommend driving a few miles out of A-Bay for this quality breakfast!! I'm sure the many locals we saw in here would agree with me. read more

Stopped in for a quick breakfast before we started our day exploring the area. We grabbed 2 seats at the counter and we're welcomed by a very friendly server. We observed her and the cook be so pleasant and happy to be there. Great local place to stop in for breakfast. It has a nice outdoor cabiney feel and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. I went with the roast beef hash, it came with home fries, roast beef (obviously), two piece of toast and two eggs. You get a great amount of food for the price. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the beef was a little too salty for me. But all in all this is a great place to get a bite to eat!! Defiantly stop in! read more

This was by far my favorite place we ate all weekend in alex bay. Food came out fast, hot and delicious. My husband got the gravy and biscuits with eggs and cheese. He devoured it. I got the eggs benedict, it was the best one I have ever had. It was plate licking good. No joke, I would have but a fork would have to do! Homemade grilled cinnamon roll. Homemade english muffin. Food is excellent!! Giving lower rating because Pie lady overcharged us and we believe on purposes because my husband wears gold chains. We didn't notice until we got back to the room with the food and menu and manually checked the prices. we didn't notice their because we were talking with the staff. This is a wonderful restaurant with lots of parking, as we had our tow behind rv attached. The meal was delicious. I had a western omelet and this is the 1st restaurant that actually loaded it with ham, peppers, and onions like I make myself. And the toast was buttered ( not a mere scraping of butter like most other restaurants I've eaten at ). The service was friendly and efficient. A great place to stop and grab breakfast. I've been here numerous times on my way in and out of Alexandria Bay. Never had lunch, so I can't comment on that. The breakfasts though, everything is always good. Pancakes are fluffy, eggs are always cooked exactly how I order them, and the biscuits and gravy are divine. The service is always attentive and they are quick to fill up your coffee, rarely if ever having to ask. There are enough options on the menu to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. This is a place I'd recommend you stop at if you ever need a good quality breakfast to kickstart your day. read more
