Shout out to the crew at this location for making our drinks-party of 10. Great super fast services, friendly staff and cool atmosphere.

Refreshing beverage at South Shore Market in Honolulu, Hawai'i... From my check-in history, it looks like I used to visit this location of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf often. I vaguely remember that we met here once for a Zoom meeting with our former Community Manager, Emi H. That was a very long time ago... before the pandemic! I like the covered, free parking, the air-conditioning, the restroom at the other side of the market, and the variety of shops here at South Shore Market. This time, I was at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for Mo'joe Mondays. The $4 special for regular Ube Coconut beverages caught my attention. However, the Ube Coconut Matcha Latte is made with dairy. A change to alternative milk is 99 cents... okay... let's do soy milk. I liked this drink! Ube Coconut Matcha Latte isn't too sweet and it's not too bitter! Thank you!

Coffee bean is a fast and easy coffee spot if the weather is rainy or too hot to be outside. Conveniently in the south shore market place, there's plenty of seating inside and outside, and not too crowded on a Friday morning. My grandfather enjoyed his usual black coffee, which was piping hot just how he likes it. They've started expanding their menu to fun things like boba drinks and pineapple cream creations, which is a nice treat for the non coffee drinkers of the world! I opted for a mango cream matcha today, which was not too sweet like other chain alternatives I've tried. There was only one girl working behind the counter this morning, who was efficient, but hopefully they're not always this understaffed.

... Tiktok said that this was one of their favorite matchas on the island. I think you can see from the color that you shouldn't always trust Tiktok. Barely any matcha taste, mango was overly sweet. Oh well. Decently quick service!

Cold brew. Mocha. It's pretty. But I do not recommend. Unless you like bitter coffee.

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. But it was a good deal and I might go back.

A great high-protein, lower-carb way to start the day! The salad had a nice variety of colors, textures, and crunch from the pistachios and onions. It also came with a small cup of sweet and savory dressing that tied everything together beautifully. The smoked ahi spread was fresh, flavorful, and not overly fishy. It was served with a slice of freshly toasted garlic bread that was warm, fragrant, and perfectly crisp without being overly toasted. // Wailua Moana Açaí Bowl So refreshing! Easily one of the best açaí bowls we've had. The texture was thick and smooth with a great balance of fresh fruit, crunchy granola, and healthy fats from the nuts. Every bite was delicious. // Matcha We ordered both the regular matcha latte with coconut foam and the strawberry matcha latte. I was so disappointed they no longer offer the lilikoi matcha- I know that flavor combination would've been amazing! Hopefully they bring it back someday. The matcha itself was on the lighter side compared to richer ceremonial matchas, but it was still smooth, well-balanced, and not at all astringent. It paired really well with the oat milk, and both drinks were enjoyable. There was a line out the door during breakfast/brunch hours, which shows just how popular this place is. Despite the crowd, the service was friendly and efficient, and we were able to grab a small table to dine in. It's located on the upper level of the Royal Hawaiian Center, making it a convenient stop while shopping in Waikiki. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu (hoping the lilikoi matcha will make a comeback too)!

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
