Not the biggest fan of the bread pudding French Toast and I love bread pudding but I'd never had corned beef hash that I liked or would eat and when I tasted my husband's breakfast it was great! Really is the best breakfast in town! Recommended to us by a local, we weren't disappointed. The Denver scrambler was really delicious, and the coffee (they serve Seranno's, a local coffee) was delightful!!! I had three cups and took one to go... The atmosphere is bustling and homey. I couldn't figure out the organization of the joint, but the servers made a great team and took care of all of their customers well. Will return next time we visit! read more

I am definitely a breakfast/brunch person. ALWAYS on the look out for a new place to add to my rotation. As this place has been open for a while I'm not sure why it took my so long to try them. (FYI these guys used to have a second place that was in Gleneagle but they sold it so if you were wondering yes this is the same place). This place is a little off the beaten path in Monument, just around the corner from the main drag. It's a decent size for a breakfast/brunch place. The boyfriend and I went a little later in the day (noonish) and had no problem getting a seat right away. Our server was Barb and she was very sweet, gave us plenty of time to look over the large menu (large for a place only serving breakfast/lunch and open to 3pm daily). I got the mini French toast stack that was served with a slice of french toast, choice of bacon/sausage (I got the sausage patty and it was delicious!!) and 2 eggs. Gotta say the french toast was meh... basically a piece of Wonder bread dipped in an eggy batter and fried up. Very reminiscent of what I made when I was a teenager when I didn't really know how to cook... AKA not really good. The eggs and sausage patty were very good however, and next time I might just get toast instead of the french toast. My boyfriend got one of their specialties, their colossal burrito covered in green chili, sour cream and cheese. It's HUGE. The plate the burrito comes on is wider than him. The burrito spans the entire length of the plate. It has country fries on one side and lettuce/tomato/olives on the other as well as another tortilla (just incase). The burrito had sausage, eggs, onions, and green peppers inside and was very good. The green chili and cheese on the outside meshed together, basically tasted like a queso..... VERY good. My boyfriend ate the entire thing (except the extra tortilla). I've seen a couple of people on here complaining about the interior of the place. Yes it's drab and kinda blah, looks like it has been here a while. So if your looking for a place that has a nice ambiance, well you won't get it here. But remember your eating breakfast.... greasy, delicious breakfast at a local spot. So just kick back and enjoy the food.... save the money for ambiance for a place like Marigold's during dinner. FYI they serve Serranos coffee and it's VERY good! read more

Having just moved to the area finding new gems like this super-friendly local spot makes everything just a little better! Had the early bird breakfast special. 2 eggs cooked to order, sausage, home fries and toast all for $3.50...can't beat that. Of course there's some fine print: order before 8:00 am and you need to buy a beverage. Still this is a great meal and a great deal. One star - food, this our third trip, okay, just ok, I could have made it all at home without the 30 minute drive. But the SERVICE - deplorable. the waier, when he finally gets around to getting our drink orders......hot tea and ice tea......the waiter - drops lemon while giving my husband his ice tea. Says he will get another one, does he NO. Does he pick up the one he dropped - NO. I had to ask for water, he takes my cup, and leaves and for 5 minutes doesn't return. I can SEE other wait staff getting water for other customers.....I had to get my own water. ONE CUP of tea, although I asked for more hot water AND creamer.....did I see them? NO. I was lucky the table behind us had a creamer for me....or who knows how long I would have waited. Picks up the customers plates next to our table, drops a napkin and a fork.....did he pick them up? NO. I almost slipped and fell on the lemon slice from earlier...seriously waiter what is your deal? Didn't your parents teach you to pick up something you dropped? Oh yea, you probably forgot what you did since it happened. Apparently the staff doesn't care about their customer safety. So he is either STONED or STUPID. Take your pick. When I told the girl processing our check, she says "oh yea, we've had complaints about him" REALLY and you still have him waiting tables? You can keep the ding dong serving people and the mediocre food.....we don't care if this establishment IS a staple of Monument. We WILL NOT make the drive from Peyton again. read more

Great breakfast place in the area.. Wonderful menu with great selection. The salmon skillet is awesome and out favorite menu item from our five times there. The also have a massive selection of gluten free items from pancakes, toast and all the items that can be made from them. Serranos coffee, local to Monument, is onsite and makes the coffee experience awesome. The only thing sometimes is the waitstaff can be a bit absent minded and forget the half mug coffee rule...if anyone in your dining area is approaching a half mug, it's time to do a drive by. That is fairly minor since everything else is great here. Biggest tip...get here before 815am...after that time on a Saturday...it fills up fast and you'll end up with a 15-30 min wait. read more

With a name incorporating "Coffee Cup," you'd think the coffee would be good. Not only was it taste-less (after requesting 2nd cup), but the price for a standard "cafe" cup of coffee was as expensive as a cup of joe at any specialty coffee shop. The food is awesome with a huge variety of choices. Overall, the service is excellent. But when it gets busy, the servers get frazzled and mistakes happen. I have always been understanding and patient and very gracious. After a bad experience today, with a total bill of about $19, I left a $9 tip. That's how I roll. Grace was given to me and I extend it to others. But too often when a mistake is made and a customer seeks to have it remedied, they get treated like they are being a bother. Today I ordered a simple sandwich. It comes with 4 things: Bacon, lettuce, Tomato, and Mayo. They forgot the mayo. I asked a passing waitress for a side of Mayo (I'm not going to send a sandwich back to the kitchen for such a minor mistake) which she went to get, but then, 5 feet behind me, commented to My waitress that I was bit**ing and complaining to her. Minor problems like this have happened in the past and today the manager came up to me and asked "ok, what's going on with you?" and the tone was neither warm nor welcome. I explained what happened and she said her response is to comp a meal. I told her I did not want that. I simply wanted what I ordered to come as it is supposed to. Then she told me "next time you come, ask for me so I can take care of you." Well, I am not going back. I walked out of there feeling like I was a bother and a customer should never feel that way. Again, GREAT food, overall great service, just be prepared for backlash should something go wrong with your order and you seek to get it corrected. read more
