I tried a coconut iced latte (not on the menu) and it was great as was all of the food. The thai omelet was very tasty with the cream cheese. My only critique is it was a little dry and a bit overcooked. I added the ground chicken and was glad I did. The highlight of the experience was the fried banana and coconut ice cream dessert. I had high hopes. I had the seafood pad thai. There was one lobster tail, one scallop, several mussels and shrimp. The lobster was tasteless, the scallop was gelatinous, the shrimp and the mussels were okay. The noodles were very greasy. The sprouts, onion and eggs were fine. Unless you can source fresh seafood (I know this is probably impossible here in COS) I don't think you should offer this dish at all. Maybe I have been spoiled by my time in Thailand, but I don't think any business should promise more than they can deliver, especially at that price. The service was good. I liked being able to have a Chang beer. I know it's a personal preference, but I have never understood why restaurants use high top tables. At best, they are tolerable, but is there a good reason the majority of the eating is at high top tables? I know how hard the restaurant business is. Maybe the White Lotus needs to pare back the menu and offer only top notch food to succeed. read more

We stopped by White Lotus Cafe on a snowy evening. The place is stylish with warm welcoming vibe. Glad to see lots of Thai fusion dishes on the menu since we are Thai:) The owner came out to greet and recommend some of the house special cocktails and food. We ordered Thai Chilli Spritz and Chang beer. Stuffed chicken wings, roasted duck red curry and steam sea bass with lime sauce for dinner. Fried banana and coconut ice cream for dessert. My wife mentioned to me that she had read about a new Thai restaurant closer to us. Our go to has always been NaRai Thai in Rockrimmon which is a bit to drive out of the way for lunch. This is a sister restaurant to NaRai! Loved the atmosphere of the atmosphere so open and nicely decorated! We looked up the White Lotus and were happy it was so close. It is in the old Notes restaurant next to the Phil Long Music Hall. We arrived at 12:30 and we were one of maybe six tables that were being served. We started with two Kirin beers that were on draw with Sapporo, 805 and Ranger IPA. We learned from server Shay that they had just opened. She was outstanding and knew the menu from top to bottom. They do serve breakfast as well until 2:00. So we definitely are thinking about a return. We ordered their vegetarian egg rolls and larb to start. The egg rolls arrived piping hot and the sweet chili sauce was perfect. We asked for hot sauce and the bartender brought it to us. By the time our orders came out, the Lotus staff was slammed. Word of mouth must be getting out. For our main entrees we tried the fried rice with crispy chicken and the Royal Chicken. We went Thai hot and it was definitely that. Loved the sauce that was served with the crispy chicken as well tons of flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly very unique breading that was a perfect crisp. The Royal Chicken was fantastic loved the fresh red bell, onion and garlic flavors. And there were plenty of cashews too. Went great with the white rice! My husband have been here twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the food was incredible. Spice level can be adjusted on almost everything. One criticism is the high top tables. My husband and I are tall and they were no problem for us, but some of our shorter and older friends would definitely be turned off. The other criticism is the cocktails. My wife and I discovered this gem before a concert at Boot Barn Hall (the name before corporate takeover) a few weeks ago. We then had Fathers day meal there with my daughter, then last week we ate there again with another couple before another concert. This has become our favorite Thai place in greater Colorado Springs. It is great that it is so close to us in Monument. The Duck Curry was great with the duck cooked to perfection. The Spaghetti with Truffle Cream and Grilled Scallops was great. I had both of the Thai soups and will have a cup before every meal there. Great flavor and the requested heat level was on point. For fathers day I have the drunken noodles. It was ok but lacked the smokey flavor I like from other places. I tried my daughters Pad Thai. It was the best Pad Thai I have ever had, even my own. The peanut flavor was awesome. I had the Pad Thai on my third trip and turned a friend on to it as well and he said that this is now his favorite Thai restaurant. The Thai-ed Up Shrimp with Avocado Salad was good but it needed a little less avocado and some other things with the salad like cherry tomatoes and red peppers. The lobster curry was good. Beautifully decorated, and very classy! Our waitress Rachel was outstanding! We ordered espresso drinks which were SO delicious! We ordered Basil Fried Rice, Pork Egg Rolls & Sesame Chicken. The BEST food we've had! We told our waitress how incredible everything was and she asked if she could tell the owner Jasmine how impressed we were. I really wanted to love this new spot in Monument after seeing it on social media. I love Thai food and even cook it myself, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, the food fell short on taste, portion size, and value. Pad Thai was overly fishy (very) and very undercooked noodles. Green Curry Chicken was light on protein and taste and not spicy when ordered Thai hot. Crab Wontons were good, but the sauce lacked flavor and was more of a watery simple syrup. Chicken Satay was decent and made with chicken breast, which was a nice touch. Thai Iced Tea tasted fine but was $7, which felt very steep. Service and decor were nice -- friendly staff and a pretty, comfortable space. Our first visit cost about $90 out the door for a few dishes and one iced tea -- pricey for what we got. Maybe it's just the first days of opening, and I hope it improves. It would be great to have a reliable Thai option near Monument. read more

A gem of a restaurant and welcome addition to North Colorado Springs. My son and I enjoyed a delicious Saturday evening at the White Lotus Most of the tables are bar height with mainly 4 tops. One table could handle 12. Reservations are available. Service was friendly and attentive. Noise levels were low so talking was easy during dinner. They also had tables available in the bar. Our evening started with an Old Thai's Fashioned (their take in an old fashion with coconut), hot Jasmine tea served in a pot that didn't drip, Crab Rangoon, and Curried Croquettes. All were delicious The mains included Beef Drunken Noodles and Lobster Seafood Pad Thai. Spice levels were none, mild, medium and high. I choose mild for the Pad Thai and my son medium for the Drunken Noodles. Both nailed it for spicy levels. My Pad Thai had a small lobster tail, a scallop, 2-3 clams, 3 muscles and 3 shrimp. Overall an excellent dinner especially for the price. Being completely satisfied, we took home a mini cheesecake and a fruit tart, perfect for a bite or two with family at home. The best surprise was the eggs Benedict with bacon, which were done as well or better than fancy brunch places in town. The pillowy eggs were poached just right and the Hollandaise sauce was silky and perfect. So the non-Thai offerings are also done well. Service was unobtrusive and friendly. Our group showed up an hour before the lunch service ended, but we weren't hurried in the least. Several people got a mini cheesecake to go on the way out.
