Came here for brunch and had a great experience! Our server was so friendly and quick, checking on us frequently. The food was great too, and I really enjoyed the lox bagel. The restaurant is clean, bright, and spacious. It feels modern but inspired by an old diner. Randomly stopped in while on a road trip. Service was great. Breakfast was good. Had the three meat omelet with an English muffin as my toast option so that I could make a sandwich out of part of the omelet. Bathroom had paper towels, might be a strand thing to mention but I prefer paper towels as I like to rinse my face and air dryers don't work for drying your face. read more

I come to Dansville frequently with my wife as this was her hometown and my brother-in-law still lives here. The Coffee Cup is my "Go To" Breakfast/Lunch Spot. I usually start with a Latte (come from their sister Cafe, the Sugar Bowl). Next, I order a breakfast (Omelette, Sandwich on Sour Dough with Egg and Cheese and always includes their home made sausage. Always great! So sad....I used to love this place. Went for lunch Monday. Lunch crowd was slowing down. Waited almost one hour. I don't understand why they only have one server even during lunch rush. One dozen tables. Does that really make sense to anyone????? I don't get it. It's bad enough that the kitchen is painfully slow. By the time my buffalo chicken wrap came, it was so overcooked I could hardly chew it. Good thing I have teeth. My husband had a salad with chicken. It was also beyond chewy. Hard chicken, yuck. The food here is so good and all the waitresses are so nice. My boyfriend and I go here often after we moved to Mount Morris and needed a new breakfast place. Their French toast is so light and yummy and their scrambled eggs are always cooked perfectly. The price is really good too. Love this place would recommend if you're down here 100% read more

I stopped here with my wife to try a place we have not been before. The restaurant was neat and tidy and appeared well maintained. The waitress was friendly- The food was good but my wife's order was not correct. Not bad enough that she wouldn't eat it but not correct. I may go back at some point and will try a few other area breakfast spots first. read more

So I went with three other people and we ordered some lunch. It took forever for them to take our order and then she finally got around to getting our drinks I ordered a milkshake just so you know the milkshake is like seven dollars and it's in a small cup like I to go cup. We waited a very long time for food. It took over an hour. We had to leave already by then so we had to go I did ask for a burger medium well it was well done and it was extremely dry. No seasoning on it. Another girl I was with had ordered French toast, eggs, and something else with it and they didn't have her eggs so we did pay a decent amount for not great food and there was only one person on the floor and apparently only one cook so it wasn't set up great I don't know what management it runs under, but it's not great. The place was clean. The menus are already on the table once you get there and even though it's called the coffee up they don't have a variety of coffees. I'm not sure why it's called the coffee cup. read more

Well, I really don't like giving negative reviews. That said, we had high hopes of this place being good. They did a really good job remodeling the place after being closed for years. I ordered the chicken fried chicken. They did use fresh chicken but the breading and gravy had absolutely no flavor. Mashed potatoes were homemade but we're stone cold. Chicken was slightly warmer. The wife had a grilled chicken sandwich that was rubbery and Fry's that were limp and greasy Even after she requested hot crisp fries. What a shame to drop the ball on the food after spending what appears to be a lot of money on the building. Also, coffee was disappointing too. Kinda figured it would be better considering the name. The sweet cream pancakes are unbelievably wonderful and ample size too. Tea is very tasty. Chef salad is the best I've had anywhere, and again a large portion. At times the music is very distasteful, but it depends on who is waitressing at the time. I've requested it be changed to something more easy listening and it was ignored. Husband and I stopped on way to Rochester for breakfast. First, have to say the building this cafe is in has lovely character with exposed brick, and ship lap walls, and a very quaint seating area. We both ordered eggs with toast, and shared a sweet cream waffle with cinnamon apples and whipped cream. Coffee was hot and good, and waitress was friendly and professional. Order came hot and everything was delicious. We were happy with everything, including the price. We will be back. read more

Been there for lunch a couple of times. They must have improved a lot since the earlier reviews because the service was good and the food was too. Really good burgers, cooked perfectly. The fries could be better - they're the stock "seasoned" fries that you get everywhere. I don't know why more places don't make fresh-cut fries, it doesn't take that long and the quality would get me to 5 stars. I plan to try the country fried steak next time, after getting a really bad one at a different place nearby I'm betting the Coffee Cup makes a good one. read more

Need to eat here more than once to give it more stars, but, that said, it was a good lunch. Run by the same folks who own Sugar Bowl and Cafe Tazza (which we love), this is the breakfast & lunch place of the trio. The site has some history, having been a diner-like restaurant since the mid-1900's named The Coffee Cup. They've kept the old wood and brick and even re-created the lunch counter with red vinyl stools. The place was nearly full when we arrived, which seemed a good sign. We could smell the hamburgers cooking, hmm, do they need better ventilation, or is that meant to be enticing? The trio of women who entered just after us all got burgers, so maybe it works. Was a little worried that with so many customers, service would be slow, but it wasn't and the servers were quick to keep us supplied with beverages. In spite of the hamburger aroma, I chose the turkey BLT wrap, which was pretty standard. There was lots of filling and the ingredients were fresh, so it gets a thumbs up. My lunch partner chose the Greek salad with chicken, which was enormous. We could have shared it. He was quite happy with his choice, too. We have to return here for breakfast soon. A good start for a place only open two months! read more

The aesthetics of the place are gorgeous with beautiful ceilings and nice wood and tile work throughout. The menu has plenty of variety. The burgers are huge! THE EMPTY CUP!! We had breakfast and we couldn't get a refill of coffee because it was "brewing" and it never was served again. Meal came with toast, but no toast, when asked they the waitress said" yeah there should be toast". 30 minutes later she came by to say she put in an order for the toast, once our meals were done.
