I'm always here for the old school diners of the world. Hip hip hooray! Both hubs and I love schlumping into a booth and chowing down some diner home fries and eggs. Yum! Redwood didn't disappoint. The service was on point and friendly, and the food was a good portion with some potatoes to take home. Redwood even had the obligatory group of loud retired men voicing iffy facts and opinions to complete the picture. Ok, maybe I could do without those dudes...but you get the point. This place is amazing. Down to earth place. Recently had Thanksgiving dinner here for six of us. The meals were all served on time and well presented and ample. The amazing part is that all from the menu was available even on the holiday. For example the next table had a prime rib dinner!! And another had chicken fingers and fries. First time at Redwood, and we were very pleased. The inside could use an update, BUT instead, they are providing excellent food and service. That far surpasses the old time feel. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. Our food was good and served up hot. My husband got french onion soup and the open faced prime rib sandwich. I got the roast beef on kimmelwick, and it was excellent served with au just and horseradish. The dessert case looked amazing, filled with a variety of pies, but we were too full to try. We stopped here on our drive. The ambiance is very old school restaurant. I like the old school look, my wife likes a little more modern. She got a ham club and said it was really good. The bread is soft and fresh. All the vegetables look like they were just sliced and she said tasted fresh. I got a simple bacon cheese burger with fries. Burger was cooked as ordered and tasted good. I have been to places that have an aftertaste in the fries and this is not one of them. My wife ordered tea and they do not have sweet tea. Living in GA for almost a decade got her used to southern sweet tea. The waitress was very friendly and extremely patient with us. When there is a huge selection sometimes we take awhile deciding what to have. We didn't take the time to have desert since we have somewhere to be. read more

Generous servings of mediocre food. Salads were crisp and fresh. Chicken parm had lots of everything except flavor. Opted for fries with turkey dinner when I found out mashed potatoes were from a box, but they arrived soggy and tasteless. Turkey was dried on the edges where it wasn't covered with the skimpy serving of congealed gravy. Stuffing was also a disappointment. I wish I had stuck with a hamburger which is probably more their style. Sorry Redwood, maybe some of your food is really good, but not the stuff we were served. read more

Large older restaurant that they divided into what they call a dining room and a coffee shop. There are signs on the interior door stating which side is open. I was there mid day on a Monday. The dining room was being used for a banquet so we were in the coffee shop which has a long counter with stools and about a dozen tables/booths. They have a wide ranging American menu. I got steak and my companion got the Philly cheesesteak. The bread that came prior to my steak was good and soft. Side salad was small typical side salad. Baked potato was good. New York Strip Steak was decent size but had no flavor, wasn't tender and was undercooked. Philly cheesesteak was visibly dry and lacked sufficient cheese. Companion took one bite and couldn't get it down. Server was nice and fairly attentive. Single bathrooms are not ADA compliant. I am hoping there are more restrooms on the dining room side that are accessible. read more

Truth be told, I didn't think places like Redwood existed anymore. But they do, usually off the beaten path, and not always your first choice. Redwood was nostalgic, but nothing to write home about. That being said, Redwood got the job done on a busy day. Redwood wasn't our first choice for lunch. Our usual favorite spot had a wait time over an hour, and most other places were closing around the time we were ready to eat. Thanks to a combination of Yelp and Google Maps, we found that Redwood was still open and we decided it could work. The first thing you think of when you walk in is of how dated the decor is. You try to remember the last time you were in the local diner, with that wallpaper, that dessert display, that carpeting, etc. But it's not so bad to step back in time every now and then. We could seat ourselves, the place was hopping as much as it could be. Service was average, nothing special, nothing horrible, just right down the middle. You could do worse, and I certainly have. I went old school and got the tuna melt on wheat. I could feel the grease oozing off my fingers, but I didn't care. I hadn't had a sandwich quite like that in at least 20 years, and apparently it was exactly what I wanted in the moment. I had thought my body might rebel after the fact, and I was prepared to regret my choice. But nothing happened! It was a nice surprise on my part. I don't mind aging, but reacting to foods differently is a side effect I can do without. It was nice to have a break from that today, and now I'm set for awhile with greasy nostalgia stuffed tuna melts. Redwood is the type of place you stumble upon while driving through a smaller town, you go inside, and experience a bygone era. Granted, that's exactly what happened to us that day, but not an experience to forget. We got exactly what we thought we would from lunch that day, and that's really all you can ask for. read more

Server not trained, waited for dinner, had to remind server we ordered coffee,then the people who came in after we ordered sat down and they ordered their dinner, it was delivered before ours. Dinner salad came have way thru dinner after a reminder (where is the salad) Should have come before. Had to remind we ordered salad. One dinner had been under the heat lamp was dry. The food could have been good but the service was awful. I can not recommend. The manager did comp the one dried dinner when I spoke to him. We've come here for lunch or breakfast several times over the years but after today will probably not return. They were extremely short staffed with one server for the dining area, lunch counter, doing the seating, and taking payments. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive and we got it after flagging down our overworked server. The Turkey Club and Chicken Salad wrap were both mediocre. My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised to find such a local gem. Everyone was friendly upon arrival. A very sweet young lady took us right to the perfect table for two right by the window. The main eating room is spacious and has a 1970-80's warm-charm to it (love it). We started our meal with the potato soup and were extremely impressed-generous cheese and bacon bits above delicious soup. At first, it wasn't that hot and immediately upon request, or waitress returned with a much hotter bowl. We were in soup heaven! I was craving a ham and cheese club, but usually eat gluten free. I asked for it with lettuce instead of bread and my waitress said that they could do that. I thoroughly enjoyed my ham n cheese and the fries (my weekend cheat food) were delicious dunked in gravy. I really like our waitress. I don't recall our name, but jokingly she referred to herself as the "mean girl with a lot of tattoos". She was very personable, attentive and does her job very well. I would absolutely recommend anyone visiting the area to make this a top choice to eat. PS- we brought some leftovers for our traveling dog and he ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and gravy within 10 seconds. He also gave 5 stars so this is a really a 10 Star review!! read more

It was just really average. We had breakfast here, the homemade biscuit-yum, best part of the meal. The omelet was pretty good. Not runny so I was happy about that. Coffee was kept full, server was friendly and attentive. The breakfast potatoes....they were slightly below average. They weren't cooked enough so pretty hard in the middle, mushy on the outside. No seasoning. Very bland. I hardly ever add salt and pepper to things but I used both to kick these potatoes up a notch. I can't give this place 4 stars. I think 3 might be low. I think 3.5stars would be correct. The place is comfortable but very dated and social distancing is being practiced. read more

I stopped here a few days ago on my trek through Naples. Overall we are happy to have stopped by for lunch. The menu has a wide variety of items s you will more than likely find something of your choosing. The interior... well it is outdated. It is rather spacious but dark. The wood tomes are a dark brown, ceiling tiles are faded or stained, tables and chairs seem to be in the 1980s motif; if not earlier. The service was wonderful and did not drop off once business picked up a bit. Our waitress made sure things we in order. The food was great but we did not get anything complicated. Reasonable portions and really cannot argue with the food quality. Again, nothing fancy. They have a wonderful assortment of pies including some traditional favorites hard to find nowadays: Banana Cream and Coconut Cream. Sadly and regrettably, I opted out of dessert. Glad we stopped by for lunch and worth the visit when in Naples area. Just be warned, the place is dated. My hunting buddy and I hit up this spot for some lunch after a hard hike in the woods looking for deer. I say hike because turns out hiking and sitting is all we really did. My hunting buddy suggested this diner so we could at least eat and have some coffee before we went back out sitting and hiking. We both ordered off the specials he the chicken and dumplings and I had the broiled fish (haddock). Portions where of a size that we almost didn't go back out. We were well fed and could have just took naps. The flavors were really good. The key to this place is the service. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Coffee was always full along with waters. Lastly I enjoyed the older decor it gives a feeling of a different time and of a family owned environment. "Cafe to the left" - is a sign greeting me walking through the first door of the Redwood Restaurant. It is 7:45AM and I'm in for the first time. I see a long diner style counter to the right. I settle in near the counter at a small table with two chairs next to the parking-lot-facing window. There is a noticeable but very slight farmer type of smell to the place. I find it comforting knowing the rural location of this restaurant. The friendly waitress drops off a menu while offering a cup of coffee. I oblige along with a request for water. I order my usual - 2 eggs poached in a cup, dry wheat toast, and home-fries. A school bus goes by as I peer out the window. Apparent locals pop in and sit at the counter while a father and his kids arrive and sit in a booth nearby. Good Morning America is playing on the TV hanging to the right side of the counter where pieces of the morning paper is lying about. I read some news on my ATT iPhone for my brief wait. I get a solid and fast ATT cell connection here. I didn't check to see if they have wifi. My order arrives promptly. I receive perfect poached eggs with average toast, and dark, tasty home-fries. I add my usual abundance of pepper (see photo). The coffee tastes medium-light and the water has a refreshing taste. There are only a couple of choices for an early morning breakfast and I rate this one a good first experience. I'll definitely be back. read more

We headed to Naples NY to buy A grape pie and stopped for a bit to eat. We were told to seat were the tables were not marked off, we found our way around the counter area to a booth that was open. At first I thought I was not going to care gor this joint! I sat and there was a trash can right next to the area I squeezed myself into. The waitress was a older woman and straight to he point. No hello how are you nothing. Ok no big deal I thought look where we are. A small town where every one knows everyone. Ok so the place seemed a little dark the ladys seemed like the ladys from the old tv sit com Alice. We ordered drinks and my beer could of been colder but it is what it is. Order or meal and waited in dread. OH MY GOD!! Do not let this place fool you. Get there get though the sad hospitality, and you will not be disappointed!! I loved every bite of my food. Wished I had a ice cold drink to wash it down but it was fabulous!! I highly recommended if you go to Naples and eat here you will love the food. At least the meals we ordered. Yummy! read more

Came here on a Sunday in Aug during the pandemic. Called at 10am and asked if they can handle a group of 8. Was told no problem. Arrived at 11am and we were given a table in a private room. Service was fast and friendly. The breakfast menu was huge. We ordered a variety of items. (J got sausage gravy & biscuits). The food was well prepared, quick & hot. Prices were very reasonable. I stopped at the Redwood yesterday for lunch after hiking the glen. It is a normal town diner for the locals. The place is kind of outdated, with the Precious Moments shrine, and wall paper. They have a breakfast bar, a dining room, and booths. It took a little while to get menus (around 1:30 on a Tuesday). They have a pretty big menu, with wraps, sandwiches, and burgers. I ordered the Manhattan Chicken Sandwich (Roll, chicken breast, lettuce, bacon, tomato and cheese). The sandwich was pretty tasty, but the roll wasn't the freshest. The chicken had nice flavor. The french fries were super hot, and thick cut. I was happy with those. My friend got the ham reuben and seemed to enjoy it. I have heard good things about the breakfast, and hope to come back for that sometime. read more

She was screaming, swearing, and flipping off the staff and rest of the customers while I was having a late lunch with my mother. Whilst she was having her tantrum there was a baby feet away from her who was acting more mature than she was. I have gone to this diner my entire life and the french onion soup is to die for. Great little place to get breakfast! The "Coffee Shop" at the Redwood is essentially a diner, complete with a vintage lunch counter and period stools. Service was extremely friendly and the food came big city fast, with small town attention to detail. I had the Eggs Benedict- it was fantastic. The best Hollandaise I have had in a diner type restaurant ( no can/jar involved). Coffee was full bodied- smooth and mellow. I typically dislike fried potatoes of any kind, but the "home fries" were great. Overall, we were delighted and surprised- and though we visited a great winery and one of the town's most upscale restaurants during our visit to Naples- I secretly look forward to eating at the Redwood on our next trip to upstate NY. read more

This is your basic roadside inn that has seen better days. The interior could definitely use a makeover...there is some potential here. Very nice wait staff.
