My husband and I absolutely loved this place. The corned beef hash was probably the best we've had and the service was wonderful as well!!

We were looking for a nice place to grab a drink and bite to eat and we found The Coffee Pot. The food and drinks and service were really good! The only complaint we have is that we got there apparently right before they closed and we felt rushed when our meal came because they were putting up all the chairs and sweeping the floors and one of the employees made a comment saying that they are all done because they are closed. We really wish we would have been told they were closing so we would have known that we wouldn't have time to sit back and enjoy our meal. I am a slow eater so I ended up taking half my meal home. The other thing is that they are cash only, but they do have an ATM. read more

If you have been to the little towns in Vermont and know the joy of finding the local breakfast spot that sets you up to have an awesome day, both physically and emotionally ally, then you will understand my appreciation of finding The Coffee Pot!!! This is old school charm both in the food that fills your plate and the atmosphere. You may have a short wait for a table but there is a very good reason people wait. The coffee is perfect, the slices of homemade toast are worth the trip alone, and the menu has something for everyone! As much as I would love to sit down to pancakes or French toast, that is not what my body works well with. The employees are very friendly, the food is just plain good with quite a few gluten free options. It has indoor and outdoor seating and it's a close walk to the water. Im visiting for a week and have been here twice. Breakfast is good but I loved the grilled cheese sandwich on gluten free bread with a cup of homemade tomato soup. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I had breakfast here today 2-4-23 and it was the worst breakfast I've ever had eating out. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and eggs over medium. My friend had the percolator. My eggs were slimy and uncooked and the gravy was pure salt and just not good. My friends dish was supposed to be eggs w bacon green peppers and onions - I didn't see any eggs . I know the price of eggs is high but it is an egg dish not a green pepper dish . Just awful. The servers didn't ask us how our food was . The full plate of food should have been a clue that it wasn't good. I gave one star because the homemade toast was good. read more

ate for the first time at the coffee pot today. cute decor and beautiful building. patio seating was really nice and enjoyable. ordered coffee and wow it was some of the worst coffee I've ever had. we ordered breakfast and the gravy was cold; nothing to write home about. the eggs and hash browns were divine though. I wish I would have ordered a side of toast because I've heard it's homemade. we were not given forks and had to request some from the bar. looked up during our meal and saw two waitresses eating food at the bar. we had three different people take care of us during our time there. One person took our drink order, another took our lunch order, and another person delivered the food. it took me the entire duration of our meal to discover who in fact was our waitress. It occurred to me who she was when she handed us our bill at the end of the meal. the service here is so sloppy it made me chuckle inside. I used to deliver for door dash and would often have pick ups from this restaurant. They were always rude to me when I would be picking up the food and the waitresses acted like I was taking their tip money from them or something. I also saw one server toasting pieces of bread without wearing any gloves and she repeatedly stopped to push her hair out of her face and then she would touch the bread again without washing her hands. It is a cute environment though with fun decor. read more

My daughter and I stopped to have breakfast. I had been wanting to visit this place for awhile now. Sorry but not a fan of it! They put sweet cinnamon butter on my hash brown and there bacon French toast sandwich has it too. I wish I would have read it before ordering! Also the customer service isn't the best, I'm guessing it's the owner that was walking around with glasses and a hat on running her mouth. She took my daughter's drink that a bee was in and didn't refill it or bother to offer her another glass. This is a great downtown breakfast spot with a great selection of well-crafted entrees and good service... But I have one beef, and it's big, because it's their signature dish: Eggs Benedict. They serve it on regular toast instead of an English muffin, which not only makes it "not an Eggs Benedict", it doesn't make sense because it's a "wet" dish (and theirs are particularly decadent) that turns regular toast into mush. Worse yet, other restaurants in town (I have never seen it anywhere else) have apparently been "inspired" by this quirk and do this, but thankfully not Franks Diner, even though theirs is basic and part-time. And the ad copy here lists this as a feature! Say no to fake Benedicts. read more

There are a few things to keep in mind when dining here: 1. Expect a 35 minute or more wait time 2. This is a cash (possibly check too) only establishment! At the time of this review there was an ATM on site, at the back of the building. We arrived around 10:00a with a party of 2. We were informed it would be a 30 to 35 minute wait, which was fine we weren't in a rush. We were sat at 10:39a. Shortly after one of the wait staff came by for drink orders and to inform us the specials were listed on a separate menu and came back shortly with out coffee and tea. There was no conspicuous signage, verbal notice or notice on the menu of ther being an ATM or a cash only establishment. Shortly after another wait staff member stopped by to tell us the specials were listed on a separate menu. The female who brought out drinks returned to take our order, right behind here came the other female who echoed the specials to take our order too! We informed her we had already placed our order. We the table next to us we observed 3 different wait staff members stop my the table echoing what the previous person had asked or said. Our drinks were refilled once, at the end of our meal. Immediately after they were refilled a male came around with a pot of coffee, that was the only time someone had made beverage rounds Besides for the host, the front of house staff appeared to be disorganized and possibly over-staffed. We ordered the corned beef hash and carnivore omelet. The corned beef was cooked well, maybe too well as it was close to being burned, without asking for it to be well done. The omelet was full of chopped meat, which was different. The toast was slightly burned and the hash browns were cooked as we normally see, crispy outside and soft inside. I don't know if the food was typical or if the kitchen staff were overwhelmed, but there didn't seem to be consistency. Besides for the toast and the texture of the chopped meats in the omelet we were happy with our food. We wouldn't go out of our way to go back but would stop again when we are in Kenosha. read more

We met our nephew here as a in between spot between Milwaukee and Chicago. It was very busy...which is a good sign. The food was absolutely excellent. Everyone pretty much had different things such as French Toast, Omnivore Benny, Salmon Benny and a Ham & Cheese Omelet. Again - food was excellent! Honey Bee don't give a S**T!!! That is what I kept saying on a recent visit here! (If you do not get that pop reference then go to Google and type in Honey Badger, Randall and then click play on the video with 50 Million views). We sat outside on the beautiful outdoor deck but we were being swarmed by bees. It did not bother me but my two ladies were not very happy which then made my breakfast experience not happy. I like this place and it is probably my favorite place in downtown Kenosha for breakfast but I do not think we will be sitting outside ever again during bee season! We ate here twice in the last few weeks and it is the tale of two different breakfasts and maybe there were different cooks. On a Monday morning I received a smaller ham steak and less hash brown potatoes but on a Saturday morning I received a larger ham steak and so many hash brown potatoes I could not even see my ham steak buried underneath it. Why? I loved my first breakfast here on a Monday but then after getting breakfast on a Saturday I felt like I got ripped off on a Monday. Oh well...I am not going to let it affect my rating. I ordered the 2 eggs sunny side, hash brown potatoes, ham steak and homemade bread. The homemade bread is amazing here...in fact, it is the star of the show when it comes to breakfast. And it only costs $7...now that is a deal. My little one got a huge pancake for $2 and my wife got 2 eggs, hash brown potatoes and toast for $5. The prices here are amazingly low. Oh yeah and they only take cash...so make sure you have some money in your pockets. I hate to say this but there is a famous breakfast place in town called Frank's and it is packed on the weekends. I believe that the only reason people go there is for the history and Guy F of the Triple D TV show. After eating here at the Coffee Pot, I can say this place beats Frank's hands down. Plus service is very fast and there are not a million flies inside the restaurant landing on your food like at Frank's. But decide for yourself by giving both places a try and I think you might agree with me. Was looking for a new breakfast spot and thanks to yelp I found it! So I went there this Saturday and as I passed by looking for a parking spot I noticed some people waiting outside which made me think it was too busy to give it a try. So yes, it was busy but I only waited for about 30min for a table which isn't all that bad since I've waited longer for other restaurants. Now here is where the experience began...as I waited the friendly hostess kept us updated as to our table availability and what not. She was very kind, friendly and attentive. This was an awesome first impression on the restaurant as thus was my first time here. Now when we got seated the exceptional service continued. As we 9rdered and had our food prepared all the staff that would come near would check up on us provided regular coffee refills. There was not one single person that took care of us as was mentioned by our hostess, "we work as a team" she said and it truly was a team effort how we were served and treated throughout. This really was what made the experience here phenomenal and I haven't even gotten to the food part lol. Well as can be expected by my rating, the food was delicious. I ordered the buster sandwich and my mom had the omnivore omelette. Also we were gonna share a short stack of pancakes but that didn't happen....those pancakes are massive!!! So yes, there was a lot of food take home. To my Coffee Pot crew, thanks for the awesome service and tasty food. An ok diner in what I think is downtown Kenosha. The food was fast to arrive, but we got there about 20-30 minutes before the place closed so we were the last customers who came in. Pretty typical diner fare here, and the prices are good too. Seating is at a premium and it can get pretty tight. They have a counter and about 7-8 other tables. Luckily, everyone's pretty friendly and easy going so you'll probably make some new friends! The food was ok, but wasn't anything special really. I had the "Perk"-olator, a scramble of hash browns, eggs, onions, jalapeno... I also added cheese and had them hold the sausage. It was kind of bland, to be honest. I tried adding some of the hot sauce they had--sriracha and tabasco--but I'm not really a fan of those and they didn't improve the flavor enough for me to use them so I ate it plain. The best part of the meal was probably the toast; I didn't have the homemade, just the wheat. But it was well-buttered and they buttered it right after it came out, so it was melted, which is a big deal for me--I don't like butter unless it's melted so that was actually a +1 for them. Since several of the other reviews have mentioned the very similar Franks, I'll go on record as saying that in my opinion, Franks is better. I learned of Franks a couple weeks ago when I searched Yelp for breakfast in Kenosha, so I'm not one of those tourists swarming in the wake of a TV appearance that other reviews seem to be looking down on. Franks may be a tighter squeeze, but the food overall is better. When we compared notes after the leaving, I found that my partner felt the same--Franks is a better breakfast, but if you miss them The Coffee Pot is an ok substitute. read more

Today, I sat by myself at the bar, and I was sat almost shoulder to shoulder with complete strangers during a global pandemic. Most other restaurants in town are distancing tables and chairs and are very strict about not sitting people too close together, but this restaurants only answer is to have the waitstaff wear masks, but all of the tables are no more than 2 feet apart, so everyone who is dining and not wearing masks are uncomfortably close to strangers. When I asked politely if the chairs could be moved further from me as I was uncomfortable, I was looked at like I was a nut job. I dont think I'll be coming back here again. read more

I usually love this place for breakfast, my usual chili cheese omelette. Unfortunately, this morning I was told "out of chili and it takes days to make"....if that's the case how do you not monitor your chili stores and begin making a new batch in advance? So as a substitute I ordered a bacon cheese omelette with the homemade toast. It was meh at best. The omelette was so unappealing looking, dry with very wriggly fatty bacon inside, that I had to hide it between my bread. I ruined good bread. I am so disappointed. read more

My first visit to The Coffee Pot was this past winter. I was motivated by the reviews I discovered on Yelp. Before I explain, simply go and experience it yourself. You will do yourself a huge disservice if you fail to eat breakfast or lunch at this wonderful establishment. Since eating here the first time, I have returned at least 4 times on weekends. I may not recall the specific titles for their dishes, but I do recall their great flavors. The corn beef hash dish was extraordinary. Not one of the ingredients came within 100 miles of a can. Real corned beef in corned beef hash !!! How delightful. OK, how arousing, stimulating you get the idea. This was presented as a generous portion with a nicely crisped layer outer layer. Eggs cooked as requested and toast made from home made bread completed the dish. Of course, the elixir of life ( coffee ) flowed freely. Service was prompt and efficient. In fact, the waitress sat down at my table to take my order and took great care of me. On another occasion, I arrived omelet obsessed. I sat down, the elixir of life arrived and I ordered an all meat omelet. Sausage, bacon, ham and some cheese filled a large plate sized omelet. The ham was not some deli meat chopped up, it was real ham from the bone hand carved. Sausage was wonderful breakfast sausage with the aromatic flavor of sage. Bacon was crisp and properly salty. The hash browns were made from fresh shredded potatoes. I like mine well done and very crispy. These had a more subtle crust with a pronounced fresh potato flavor. All together, another Big O. Now, on to the eggs Benedict...I have no time to describe it, so trust me it was glorious. I noted that they have a lunch menu and a chalk board full of daily specials. I've been to a lot of breakfast and brunch places in SE WI over the years. The Coffee Pot beats them all. It's a real and honest diner. Sit at the counter, order your food, boom...you eat. The staff is warm, friendly, and very attentive. Let them know you like refills, your coffee cup is never empty. The food is some of the best in the state. Wonderful portion size, great menu options, and the bread. THE BREAD! Homemade, toasted to perfection, and just the right side to their amazing omelets. They offer some of the more unique omelets I've tasted. The Ruben omelet with corned beef, kraut, and dressing was one of the better, but then there's the simplicity of the Chili omelet, which is hearty and satisfying. I know there are some wonderful storied breakfast and bunch options in Kenosha. I'd not take anything away from any of them...but the Coffee Pot is better. Just the best. read more

My absolute favorite breakfast dinner when I am at home! Usually pretty busy on the weekends but they move fast and you won't be waiting too long. If you want something sweet definitely order their stuffed French toast! And if you are in the mood for something a little more salty their omelets or breakfast plates are the best.
