I've been coming to see Amanda for the past few years, I went to her on a whim and man am I thankful I did! She's brought my hair back from the brink of total disaster and I trust her implicitly. I've never gotten a bad cut/color from her! She's great at following directions and making the cut I want fit not only my face but my personality. She herself has had long and short hair so she understands the struggles of both and what makes either look great, not only in the short term but when it's grown out (I'm not great about coming in for trims). She's also been extremely understanding and caring regarding my disabilities, I have an implanted medical device and she always remembers that a full head and shoulder massage will be painful for me and avoids what hurts me. The best hairdresser I've ever been to; I'm sticking with her until she retires! The shop itself is beautiful and very well put together. It's so comfortable and everyone says hello and remembers my name every time I come in, despite my shoddy upkeep schedule (my own fault, ha!). I LOVE the new salon The Collective! It's so trendy inside. Nando is amazing, brings out the best blonde ever in my hair. Definitely uses the best of the best with his bleach. No breakage, brass, yellow or orange! I love that the entire salon staff is so sweet and welcoming to everyone. All four stylists are always smiling and enjoying their time with their guests, you tell they love what they do! There's lots of parking. They are dog friendly and have wine and champagne to enjoy too! Who wouldn't love dogs and champagne while being pampered?! read more

Loved this spot and Amanda! The salon is brand new and super cute - clean, minimalistic design with lots of plants and fresh air, it kind of feels like you're at a spa which is really nice and relaxing. Amanda did an amazing job, two of my coworkers recommended her and I'm glad I listened! She was consultative and knew what would work best with my hair, and the end result is exactly what I wanted. The Collective is a new salon with many familiar faces. Christina, and a few others, opened The Collective in a convenient area in Carlsbad. This is a fresh, upscale salon than manages to feel relaxed and "beachy" at the same time. I've been going to Christina for men's cuts for several years. The service is great and my haircuts never disappoint. I love the perks of a hot towel and shoulder massage during the hair wash and always leave feeling relaxed. Everyone makes you feel so welcome. The convenience of making or changing appointments on my phone through their app is awesome, but I can still call in and talk to someone when needed. Such a great experience! I have been Team Nando for four years now and I would follow him to the ends of the Earth for the only technically perfect layered haircut and round-brush blowout I've found since I moved back to California (I discovered him while visiting my parents who live in Vista). I'm an exhausted doctor who lives in Beverly Hills and Fernando is the ONLY human I will EVER let touch my hair again! After two failed one night stands with overpriced stylists in LA and Beverly Hills who charge twice his price but with only 10% of his talent, I'm more than happy to make that post-overnight call drive straight down to Carlsbad from the hospital still in my scrubs. The Collective is such an amazing salon! I don't write yelp reviews often, but this place needs to be recognized. I've been having my hair done by Christina for the last couple years and I've never been happier with my hair. I have really dark hair and she brings me to a light golden honey color in a way that looks so natural! Now on top of her amazing skills, the new salon really locks in the whole experience. The music, the ambiance, and the rest of the salon crew really makes this place one of a kind, and so welcoming. I have had my hair touched in some way by each of the salon stylists at The Collective and I would equally trust them all with my hair.
