I finally made it to Crust & Crumb and it was amazing!!! Located in the Norton Commons area. The ambiance is relaxing & chic. The staff was super friendly and efficient. It is clean as a whistle. There is a lot of outside seating which is perfect and places to sit inside as well. They have a multitude of beverages from coffee to juices. I ordered the Sparkling Hibiscus drink. It was so refreshing. There were so many different things on the menu. It was hard to choose what I wanted so I ordered a variety of goodies to take home. The croissants were beautiful and so tasty. Cute bakery shop! Lots of pastries and homemade bread to choose from. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go along with the white cheddar grits and side of toast. The sourdough toast was delicious! I also really enjoyed the salted mocha coffee, the flavor was rich! Wow, what has happened to Crust and Crumb? Living in Charlestown it's a little drive to C&C. We try to combine our trips to Costco with a stop at Crust and Crumb. My mouth would water with anticipation thinking about the Cream Puff and Chocolate Croissant. Our most recent stop on Thursday we bought our usual and brought them home. Upon cutting the Cream Puffs in half, we discovered the Cream filling is now about half the volume it used to be. Wow, what a let down. A glorious breakfast/brunch/bakery spot smack dab in the middle of a cute neighborhood. Service is fast casual: order at the counter and they'll give you a number to bring any food/bev to your table. The pastry case looked too good to pass up - I opted for a banoffee cookie and wasn't disappointed. Breakfast was excellent - hello sourdough toast, as was lunch - hello punchy potato salad. The cubano was on special, so I had to try it. Excellent bread and the meat was not skimped on! For drinks, a classic vanilla latte is great and the dragonfruit lime refresher was super crisp for the non-coffee people in your life. Came here on a Saturday morning. The place is busy! Suggest coming super early or later. They have a lunch menu. Menu is huge! Plus the bakery items. Sooo many choices. Recommend reviewing the menu before you go since it's somewhat cafeteria style and the line moves fast. I got the veggie breakfast bowl and salted caramel latte. The latte was amazing!! A friend highly recommended Crust & Crumb, so we decided to give it a try. We went on a Sunday around 9 a.m., and the line was already out the door. The café itself has a cute, inviting vibe. I loved the décor, the coffee, the cup design, and all the little items available for purchase. We ordered sourdough toast, a croissant, pumpkin roll latte, and an oat milk latte. Everything tasted great and we loved it. That said, the logistics were confusing. There isn't a menu available until you reach the register, so you don't know your options while waiting. You place baked goods orders with one person, then breakfast sandwiches and coffee with another. We were given a beeper and told it would buzz once for drinks and twice for food, but ours never went off for food, instead, someone came outside calling our name. The pickup setup was also awkward. The drinks and food is by a door marked "exit only," so you end up weaving back through the crowded line to get your order. On top of that, the way the outdoor tables are arranged forces all traffic, both in and out, through the same narrow path, which makes things even more congested. There is limited seating inside at tables or at a bar area. More seating is outside on the heated patio. The food and drinks were fabulous! I wish it had Wi-Fi and outlets on the patio. Okay I'm not sure if I ruined this experience for myself or what. But I was excited to come here after the high praise from a coworker. I expected to grab a quick bite and coffee and do some work. They don't have public wifi which is fine, they probably want people to mosey on out and i understand that. So I just focused on eating. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, iced late and icing croissant knot. At 8 am I decided to sit on the patio. The patio is flooded with flies. My coffee unfortunately got a fly in it, I had the lid that doesn't need a straw and it still managed to get inside. I didn't request a new one because I didn't want to be that person but the sip I had was good. The brioche on the sandwich bun is 10/10. I had to eat it fast because the flies were legit landing all over my stuff. A fly landed on my frosted knot so I ate around it and that's a dang good pastry. Overall I need to get this food to go to be able to enjoy what I got. But I think they need to move the trash cans off the patio so the little dudes aren't so awful. read more

We came back to try more items and grab a gift card, and today's items stood out much better. First, a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. Delicious and I coupled it with an iced lavender london fog tea latte. The roast beef sandwich was a great lunch sandwich choice on sourdough bread. This would be great to share so that you could try another item. The marshmallow cookie with cereal flakes was yummy but the flakes gave it a weird chewy, yet hard, texture. Limited indoor seating but the patio is very full. This restaurant is cash free so have a card ready to swipe. Also, no straws. I went to this spot with a good friend of mine to hangout and chat, and while we were here we decided to grab a bite. The amount of variety on the menu was pretty nice, looks like there's something here for most people. I had the Cobb Salad and was happy with the amount of colorful vegetables and toppings on my plate. It comes with mixed greens (glad to see more salads with mixed greens instead of romaine), roasted chicken, nice crispy bacon, a hardboiled egg, blue cheese, black olives, tomato, avocado and a good amount of dressing. It tastes very fresh and is a decent portion size, but in terms of flavor there wasn't much going on. It tastes like "greens" and that's kinda it. I don't know what the cause is, like it's seasoned but I just didn't get much flavor. Perhaps my pallet prefers stronger flavors over lighter ones, so take this with a grain of salt (figuratively, or maybe literally). If you're in the area, check em out. read more

I stopped by Crust & Crumble Bakery in Norton Commons for a Wednesday lunch date with a friend, and it was such a lovely spot to enjoy a meal outdoors! Finding the menu was a little tricky at first. No paper menus, just a QR code near the register, so we had to do a bit of hunting before ordering. Once we figured it out, ordering was quick and easy. I went with the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and the rice pilaf salad on the side, along with a hibiscus punch iced tea. My tea came out first and was delightful; fruity, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Our food was ready within about 10 minutes, and everything looked (and tasted) wonderful. The chicken salad was flavorful and perfectly balanced, and the croissant held up beautifully without getting soggy. The rice salad was such a pleasant surprise; sweet and savory with bits of squash, Brussels sprouts, nuts, and what tasted like dried cranberries or cherries. We both enjoyed our sandwiches and lingered outside for a while, soaking up the sunshine and conversation. It's the perfect neighborhood spot for a casual lunch. The place was swarming with activity on the weekend morning! I passed on an enticing-looking array of baked goods and sprung for a drink instead. London was calling - the Lavender London Fog to be exact. It was perfectly made! We were lucky enough to nab a table for the 3 of us on the insulated patio. It was warm and protected from the wind and cold on the day that we were there, if a bit noisy with how packed it was. What an adorable place! I went on a Saturday morning, so it was of course packed, but the service was so quick. The place is so cute inside-- I love the scrolling wall sign. They have SO many options of pastries, drinks, food, and even grab and go items! I ordered a breakfast bowl-- delicious! With a campfire ice coffee (yum!) and an incredible pumpkin puff pastry (it was so big and amazing)! I was in need of a quick lunch after a workout, so I figured I would check out Crust and Crumb since it was nearby and I had been hearing so many good things about it. This place is so cute, and it stays busy. I came right as they were serving lunch, but they were very quick to take orders. They have different options for seating areas, such as tables inside, a bar and an outdoor patio as well. I never expect too much out of a turkey sandwich, but wow, theirs was so good! I paired it with some of their jalapeño chips and it was the perfect combo... It was pretty big too, I was able to make two separate meals out of it! Busy busy! This neighborhood doesn't have a lot of coffee shop options so I wasn't surprised that they were slammed late morning! They do have indoor and outdoor seating. Modern decor. It seems like a fun place to hang! I had ordered my food online since they were going to switch to the lunch menu in less than 45min. I ordered the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich and the sausage and leek quiche. They were kind enough to call me about picking up my order since they were concerned my food would be cold. I appreciate that! The sandwich was large! Very filling too. The bread is where it's at. So good and fresh. And that quiche was melt in your mouth. Beautiful crust. It's so light to eat that it's criminal. When we went in, we stood in line to order our drinks since you can't preorder them online for some reason. I got some kind of latte with honey while my sister got a cortado. Decent. Nothing special but they are really all about their baked goods. I saw lots of people buying loaves and baguettes. We parked right in front. I'm sure a lot of people walk here especially if they live in the neighborhood. I'll be back to try more of their baked goods! read more

Love this place - a perfect spot to meet a friend, take a break, or do some work. Bright and friendly, with stools and a few tables indoors and a nice enclosed sitting area outside (not just tables stuck on the sidewalk). The staff were friendly and hard working. A nice variety of drinks, and an amazing bakery with fresh, creative treats - carrot cake crossaint, blackberry pistschio croissant knot, and bacon chocolate chip cookies to name a few. Had an amazing experience here. Staff were welcoming and kind. I ordered an iced matcha latte and added vanilla lavender syrup. My drink was delicious and one of the best iced matcha lattes I've ever had. I didn't order a pastry or other food options, but everything looked delicious. It would move and make noise every so often. My sandwich was great and fresh. The bread was amazing. My ice coffee is perfect. Not burnt or anything. I've been wanting to visit for awhile, but the hours are limited. I happened to be off work and waiting for an appointment when I visited. This was a great place in a great space. It had great flavor, but I do wish they served it warm and melted. I could only select 4 stars but I'd like to say it was a 4.5, and only for this part about the sandwich.
