Probably one of the best quesos in NYC. Fries are not to be missed: they're plentiful and deeply golden brown and giving hand cut vibes. The spicy chicken sandwich is just as delightfully crispy, hot and tender as the one in Williamsburg. The honey butter that comes with the biscuits is fantastic. Everything came out quickly on a busy Friday night. In a city with incredible bar food this is top tier.

It was quiet on a Friday night in here, which was kinda nice compared to the original Williamsburg spot....but I think the energy was lacking because of that. The food was fine, I don't know why I don't think it was as good as the Williamsburg one, but just didn't seem to be. The chips with queso were nice!

This cute little corner bar was giving Miami Vice vibes in the LES like you're back in the 70s - 80s! The bartenders were attentive, the food came quick the nachos were a little blah not to our liking (and the server was glad to take it off) however the pozole was delicious very tasty. The happy hour was decent and I only had one drink with a good pour.

I'm so happy the Commodore opened a location in the East Village! Now I don't have to go to Brooklyn for amazing fried chicken. Luckily the vibe and food at this location is the same as the original. The fried chicken plate and the Commodore (piña colors) is a must. The plate includes three perfectly cooked thighs and biscuits with addicting honey butter. Happy hour on weekdays and brunch on weekends makes Commodore II a good spot any day of the week.

Hidden Gem in the LES. If you like cheap drinks and great fried chicken + a DJ spinning kewl tunes in a retro looking old school NY place this is the ticket. From outside looks kinda Cyber Punk. Inside a bit of Miami Beach Fried Chicken platter is HUGE! Door to kitchen is wide open so you can see them slapping the orders together. In my experience every place that has an open kitchen (nothing to hide) always has good food and this is no exception! My buddy said it was the BEST fried chicken he ever had! Real NYC vibe here from the staff. Place was packed, two clean unisex bathrooms

bar is cute, staff is friendly. food is good. not sure what state they are representing but it's a pretty southern selection. only reason why I mentioned that is because the mac and cheese. it came out like a brick and wasn't creamy at all. other than that the food was good. We tried the biscuits, kale salad, mexican shrimp cocktail, mac and cheese and fried chicken sandwich. The fried chicken sandwich is huge and is really tasty. this was really really good and filling. it was a friend chicken breast that wasn't dry and had cole slaw and pickles on top. I didn't try the bread but it looked soft. The kale salad was good and the croutons were really buttery and added an element of flavor. They didn't offer protein add ons which I wish they did as to why I ordered the shrimp cocktail. The biscuits-so good with a side of honey butter. I also ordered the commodore drink which was okay. Others liked it, in just not a fan of sweet drinks, and the tequila shooter is good. The only reason why I gave 4 stars was because I didn't love the mac and cheese or the mexican shrimp cocktail. I already commented on the mac and cheese, but the shrimp cocktail was a large class of cocktail sauce and the shrimp were floating inside. it was way too saucy for me. I wanted shrimp on the rim just plain with the sauce to dip to my liking. it was a little overwhelming.

The place is colorful inside. The servers very nice. And my burger was delicious. I'll definitely be back...

Commodore II has a sleek ambiance. It's like being in a Michael Mann movie. The fish tank in the wall is a great detail. The place seems to be inspired by a Miami Tiki bar. I highly recommend the cocktails and fried chicken. I'm a fan and It'll be on my list of favorites.

We got the Banter Bowl, which includes pickled carrot, cabbage, watermelon radish, cucumber, edamame, avocado, quinoa, and miso ponzu dressing. You have a choice of meats, so we chose the grilled chicken. Second, we ordered the falafel bowl that includes three falafels, pickled onions, avocado, cucumber, whipped garlic feta, kale salad, romesco, and Za'atar dressing that had a delicious flavor. However, our ultimate favorite had to be the Thai Crunch Wrap with sweet potato fries. It was fairly busy, and our drinks took a while to come, but the food arrived shortly after. The next time I'm back, I will be sure to reorder the Thai crunch wrap. If you have food allergies, they are extremely accommodating and have numerous vegan/vegetarian/GF.

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

On a recent visit, I wanted to check if their payment policy had changed (they charge a fee for credit cards on top of the bill)... I asked them if they still charge a fee for credit cards and their answer was "there are signs everywhere". While that might be the case, i didn't see the sign...
