This place is a good find in main downtown area. Everyone passing through town should definitely make plans to stop by, except closed Sundays. Wonderful bread for a starter! We ordered stuffed mushrooms that were good. Then the Greek Chicken pasta with banana peppers and bacon with the best sauce! I will be wanting this again for sure. Ordered a Individual chicken pizza that was good and bigger than I thought. They have several sandwiches that sound good too. Next time will try something with meatballs. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. This is not just a pizza place but an Italian heaven. Such a relaxed friendly place with good service. Tell owner, Carolyn from the old neighborhood sent you! I bet he gives you a big smile!

Excellent server, great wings, enjoyed the Messy Jesse pizza.

Everything was very good. Fast service. Ask for Gluten Free pizza! Drinks are a bit pricy, so recommend water if on a budget.

Had to come to McAlester and decided to go somewhere we haven't been. We are glad we did. The fried mushrooms are delicious, the Buff Supreme was really good and the Messy Jesse was good.

The Delilah pizza and Poblano bacon Mac and Cheese were very tasty and the service was friendly. We recommend that you give The Compass a try!

Server never came back, definitely didn't wipe off the dirty table

ORDER TAKE OUT!!!!!! overall, compass's food is pretty good. Their servers however, are not. Today we walked in, and were told to sit anywhere. Every table was dirty, so we picked one and sat down. Our server took a very long time to come to the table, and she was not kind at all. She took our drink order, delivered our drinks, and took our food order quickly and never returned to the table. I specifically asked for bruschetta "as an appetizer" and you may be able to guess that it came with our food. We ordered 16 wings to share, and asked for extra ranch. A different server brought our food out (all at once) without ranch or plates. We asked him for refills and ranch, which he brought but we didn't see another server after that. The food was fine. I often feel like their food is slightly on the undercooked side but the wings were white throughout, so it was fine. We ate without any other service, even though I would've loved a plate, refill and some napkins. And to top it all off, their Dr. Pepper was gross! Awful experience, the food is the only thing keeping my rating above 1 star. (In case you missed it, no one ever wiped the table down!!! We ate at a dirty table, y'all!!)

Excellent pizza for the price! A cool location downtown. We were traveling through and wanted to try something local instead of a chain restaurant and we were definitely happy we came to the Compass. We will come back again if in the area and definitely recommend it to others!

    Gluten free pizza!

Fantastic restaurant. Super excited to have a gluten free option and the staff was really nice and friendly. I had the gf white pizza and the crust was really crispy which can be hard to achieve when not using traditional wheat flour. Also tried the monster fries and the thick pieces of bacon were almost like jerky and really stepped up the traditional cheese fry experience. Jalapeño relish added some great flavor too. Will be back next time I'm in town.

When we were first seated, the table wasn't clean. When my sister politely mentioned it, the waitress seemed more defensive than apologetic and moved us to an even more uncomfortable table. Service overall was very slow, especially considering they were not busy. It took a long time just to get drinks, my tea was never offered a refill, and my mom was brought the completely wrong meal -- she ordered a chicken sandwich and received a hamburger instead. The food itself was honestly pretty disappointing for the cost. Ralph and I both ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was around $27 each, and it came out cold. The green beans were cold too and honestly not good at all. Overall, the food felt very average and definitely not worth the price point. The one highlight was the famous quail poppers -- those were actually really good and probably the best thing we had all night. Sadly, after all four of us talked about it afterward, we agreed the experience was maybe a 3 out of 5 at best, and that's being generous. We really wanted to love it, but it just fell short in both service and food quality.

All four of us were pleased with our meals. The chicken fry was good as were the potatoes and cream gravey. The fried okra was excellent. The chicken livers were excellent and begged for mashed potatoes and cream gravey. The French fries Ken ordered weren't very good. I think they were under cooked. We had a nice, enjoyable dinner.
