This place makes you reminisce and step back in time to old school diners. very casual, friendly staff, still has the glass room that was used in the 90's for smokers lol of corse mow clean and just a nostalgic look. Appeared to be a local's place however we felt welcome.. full menu and they will change anything to make the plate just how you want it. We had chicken fried chicken and ordered a side of sausage gravy just because I wanted to taste it also and it was yummy. Coffee was good diner coffee. Price was reasonable. I guess the only reason I didn't give it a five star is because some of the things they use are instant or out of a box but it appeared that most were homemade. I definitely would come back! read more

AMAZINGGGG breakfast!! The best ever actually! The service is phenomenal, everyone is super welcoming and kind. The breakfast was amazing and my boyfriend and I agree these are the BEST pancakes we've ever had. Our server was Neeley, an absolute sweetheart and gem of a person. We had a lovely breakfast experience here while visiting town for the Italian Festival! Our server was friendly and caring. Very popular local eatery for a reason. No, it is not fancy but the food is great and the service is even better. Eight of us had breakfast here. There was a large selection on the menu. Our coffee mugs were kept full and the meals came out quickly and were very hot. Prices were very reasonable and everyone enjoyed their meals. Great place! read more

I ordered a regular old breakfast with coffee. Everything was delicious. So far, this is the only place I'll eat at again in McAlester!!!! The staff was friendly and checked on us just the right amount of times. The place looks old so you know it's going to be good. Did I mention breakfast for two with an extra side was only $20?!!??!!!!! Like, where they do that at? Perfect!!! read more

Before I left MacAlester I wanted a local place that served a good breakfast. I found What About Bob's and even though it was a bit out of the way but found a pretty packed parking lot so I thought it was a good sign. It's definitely a place for locals and I didn't feel unwelcome but I didn't get the friendliness that other reviews here mentioned. They were polite and all but it was very perfunctory, like they were going off a checklist. I got their local specialty, the Sunrise Surprise which was ok. Good, but nothing to go out of my way for. It was kind of like Waffle House's hash browns all the way, but easier on the stomach. read more

Love this place. You may have to wait for a table, but it's gonna be worth it. Breakfast with coffee is under $10. Leave a good tip. Decor is dated, but you can't eat that. read more

Gravy, omelette, sausage, biscuit, breakfast scramble were all excellent. The biscuits were homemade yumminess. I had sausage in my omelette and it was very flavorful. We were very surprised to find somewhere this good randomly in McAlester. read more

Great place to eat!!! We were there on a Sunday morning on our way to the Talimena scenic drive and stopped here for breakfast. We went in at about 8:30 am or 9 am. The place was packed!!! Saw a bunch of local folks there and that is always a very good sign. Our server (I think her name was Marigand) was extremely polite and courteous with a very pleasant smile all the time. Food was great and came out quick. I had the omelet (was delicious) and my son had french toasts (was good too) and two water - nothing fancy. But the overall experience was very good. The total bill was like $20 - which is really cheap. Would definitely go back there again. read more

Restaurant is popular with local people. Seems that many dine at this restaurant day after day. Was there at 10 AM on a weekday in the summer. There are two dining rooms. One dining room is 15 degrees cooler than the other. Apparently the air conditioning did not work in our dining room. The parking lot was full and most tables were taken in the restaurant. There is no music and no television. They give an un-fancy menu. Had a hot roast beef sandwich. It came with a lot of bread and a small amount of meat. (2 stars). The French fries were average. (3 stars). Had pancakes. They were good. (4 stars). My friend had a chicken fried steak that he liked. (4 stars). All three of us shared biscuits and gravy. They were good. Everything was hot. It seems that the breakfast foods were better than the other foods. The service was average to good. It was busy there. The bathroom was clean. Considering that I have eaten at other local restaurants that were five star, I would not eat there again. There are better places to eat in McAlester, OK. read more

I mean, I could not ask for more-- we were looking for a good restaurant for lunch on our road trip through Oklahoma. A good kids menu was clutch to please our 8yo and 2yo and WAB's delivered. They got nuggets, fries, and fruit (though Mac and cheese or a turkey sandwich were contenders). I had a great chopped salad with fresh crunchy lettuce, and the hubs had a burger with mushrooms and bacon that was delicious. Fries cooked to perfection. Staff were super nice, place was clean including bathrooms, and the food came out quickly (again clutch for the kids). Ps we paired this with Chadwick Park for the best pit stop to refresh our trip (see my review, I'm amazed at the playground) read more

They were busy and service was a little slow. The food was great. My husband and I both had breakfast. They were out of jalapeño which made me sad for my omelet. Stopped by for breakfast on Memorial Day weekend. Waitress was cheerful, efficient, and did an excellent job. Other waitress made sure coffee was topped off and checked on us as well. Excellent service. 7:30 in the morning almost all of tables had people sitting at them. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Sausage gravy out of this world. Prices more then reasonable. Highly recommend. read more

Stopped by as we drove through Oklahoma. Decided to stop due to the reviews on Yelp, and we were not disappointed.
