My daughter had an issue with her laptop and these guys fixed it. Very friendly and informative. The pricing was reasonable. We asked about leaving a deposit, but they had us sign a work ticket with a minimum price on it. Once they diagnosed the computer, they called with a final/total price and got approval before proceeding with the repair. We left the computer with them, and they called the next day with the diagnosis and the price. They had to replace the solid state drive. We told them Go and it was the next day when they called to tell us it was ready. The laptop was fixed within 48 hours. There is not a traditional storefront. It is a house they are working out of, but it is definitely a business. They aren't just working out of their garage or anything. Highly recommended. Most people who work with computers have little or no idea of the multitude of things that can go wrong with that wonderful box that performs magic with a few key strokes or mouse clicks. It's the same situation with automobiles and many other devices in our lives, we use them and never think twice about how they do what they do. I've worked on both automobiles and computers and one thing I learned is that electrical devices can be working fine and then they aren't, sometimes as soon as they are installed. I know my way around computers having owned, repaired, and built many since 1990. Recently I had my primary hard drive crash. It didn't happen all at once but over a period of several weeks. I had foolishly not backed up my data for several months. After using several different methods to attempt to stabilize the drive so that I might move the most recent data to a more secure drive, it quit, not recognized as even present when I attempted to boot up or access by way of the BIOS. This was something I had never encountered before, but knew there where programs that might be able to retrieve the data. Programs that perform this task are not cheep. They cost less than a clean room retrieval, but still much more than $100, and would still require an unknown learning curve. I could probably survive with the loss of the most recent data for me and my wife, but would rather not. What I needed was someone who was equipped with the software and the knowledge to save this if it was possible. So I took my PC to The Computer People. Derrell, the owner and I discussed the issue. It would cost $100 to assess the problem and any additional cost would be estimated after that. We talked on the phone after his evaluation and quoted a price to attempt the data retrieval and installation on another drive. The process took several days of locating, transferring, and reinstalling the data. The first attempt encountered a problem so the process was back to square one. I delivered a never used hard drive to him for the reinstall of the OS and data. When the process was complete I picked up the PC. Derrell had created a new desktop for me with many familiar folders and links. There were assorted additional files and folders in a recovery folder. Derrell called me the next day to see how I was doing with the recovery. From what I can tell, what I hoped he could retrieve was there. I am still recreating the desktop and file arrangements for me and my wife. I've reinstalled programs like Photoshop lost in the Windows reinstall. I know Derrell put in a lot of time on this retrieval because in the process of moving files and folders I could see the date and time stamps on the newly created files. I took my computer in because it was not turning on. After the repair (A new mother board and video card,) they did it would not shut down or go to sleep. Back it went, told me the mother board was defective. It took 3 times bringing it in to TCP and it is not fixed yet, it won't go to sleep but will shut down. I also had data disappear off my computer and after telling them this the next invoice came out with large letters "NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST DATA". Really!! So if you want to lose data, repeat taking your computer in then these are the people for you. They offered to remotely check it out after the third time of repair, I don't think so, I'll find someone who knows what they are doing to fix their screw up. Also, they tried to say that it must have been something that I did to cause the problem. Nothing like being responsible for your own crappy work. I will say Corey was very friendly but did try to tell me that I waited too long to return it and the warranty expired 1 day before. I told him don't even try to go there. It was 1 week from the pickup date to when it was returned. Shortest warranty guarantee I ever saw. Beware these people are not what they once were. read more

Avoid this place! Brought my laptop there, TWO MONTHS AGO, for repairs. After having to bring it back THREE TIMES, and spending OVER $400 for repairs, I dropped in to pick it up today. Was told I had to fork over FORTY BUCKS more. When I complained about this, the guy got belligerent with me and told me he would keep the laptop if I didn't pay it. Consumer beware! Initially, the costumer service is really good... minus the older lady (Marie, I believe). She was extremely rude. I went on for a hinge and a back cover replacement. I got my laptop, nice transaction, etc. but when I was finally able to test out my laptop, it runs slower the fan isn't working properly, ZERO sound in the speakers nor the jacks, can't play my games... all i get is a black screen. They messed up my laptop! If your life is on your computer save up the extra money and go to Best Buy. read more

I was charged $70/hr to have my computer serviced. An hour being a full week. I was told i would be called when the computer is ready or if an additional hour is needed. That never happened. We ended up calling them only to be told my computer isn't ready and we may have to pay another $70 or $150 for a clean swipe. either way we would be notified before charges. still no phone call. Again we had to call them (the following Monday) and was told the computer was ready. when my husband went to pick up the computer we were charged an additional $70. No warning. one of the workers grabbed my computer and went to the back of the store even though it was established that they never called. Horrible customer service read more

I just came from "The Computer People" to have my computer looked at . I've done business with this office for over 12 years. They are my go-to for any problems and never have had any problems with them. They explain any problems and questions you might have thoroughly and patiently. They volunteer suggestions that might help you further with your computer skills and software usage. They meet the deadline they set and will work with you. I remember once that the office was closed for some of the Christmas Holidays and he had me meet at his house to return my fixed computer.
