Really cute store and really well maintained. Candy selection is good with chocolates, gummies, and sour candies. Like others mentioned, it's pricey for candy--I think most of the loose candies such as gummy bears were about 11.99/pound. read more

The Confectionery is super cute! This was my first trip in, and it's adorable. It's a little expensive, but for a cute present for somebody, they have nice little wrapped up treats. They also have a huge selection and large variety of treats, from chocolates to hard candies to gummies. Not being able to scoop your own candies is a little bit strange, especially since when I visited, the staff wasn't really that attentive. They were mostly in the back gossiping. read more

Expensive $$$, but what a seriously great selection. I love candy of most kinds and have to treat myself now and then. In the store, I take deep breaths and remind myself that my metabolism is somewhat slow these days. Then, I go to the counter and corner a cashier. So many choices. Lots of different types of gummies, chocolates, caramels, candy sticks, sours, hard candies, lollipops,gumballs, candy coated nuts, cordials, marshmallows, jelly beans, vintage, European. You name it. The pumpkin cheesecake caramels are truly delectable. Also love the Swiss petite fruits and Lego block candy. I always get carried away and wind up wanting to try almost everything. I ask for a handful of those, half a handful of these, just a few of those, and a quarter pound of that etc... The staff are nice and patient. Pros: Several of the cheese cakes are just to die for. Cons: Price a bit spendy, but they are worth every pennies. Recommendation: Try the coffee/mocha flavor of the cheese cake, the bitter counters the sweetness, they mold into a perfect balance. read more

Oh, how I love this place!!!! They have everything you could wish for in a candy store: Delicious European imports (like Jelly Tots and Flake Bars), fantastic and unique truffles and chocolate goodies, and wonderful gummies of every shape, size, color, and flavor. I come away with a huge bag of stuff every time I go there. It doesn't last me long, but that's because I have no self control! I especially love the caramel/chocolate pretzels, the sea salt caramels, and every single kind of gummy I can get my hands on. I bring little baggies of their candy with me every where I go. To top it off, the girls who work there are so fun and helpful. It's always a pleasure to go to the Confectionary! read more

The store is cute & has lots of selection. However, I will not be shopping here again. The staff have merely been inept in my past few visits (I don't live in WA state) but didn't expect more. The past experiences were certainly not bad enough to keep from shopping there - until this week. Most recently (Sunday, Oct. 9) the staff were outright rude. They were complaining about other customers in front of me, staff dumped candy on the floor and then put in back into bins (yum, floor food). I heard one of the staff (maybe the owner/manager - she wasn't wearing the uniform/apron like the other staff but was 'managing' the younger staff) snap at a customer, who had just made a large purchase, to stop taking pics of the HWeen decor. Also, customers had dogs in the shop, which doesn't seem hygienic. Too bad they have lost my business, as I shop/purchase for several friends & colleagues there while I am in town. Will look for a shop with a more pleasant and knowledgeable staff, and fresher candy. read more

I like horehound drops, and the confectionary has them. A variety of licorice drops too. No Taverner's lemon drops. I'm not sure they have an importer at the moment. Anyhow, not a bad candy shop: something for everyone. read more

I love the confectionary- the selection is great and I'm a sucker for supporting local candy shops! I stopped by tonight to pick up a few things and my low(er) rating is due to the experience here. i come to this store often and the one thing that remains the same is the rude young girl behind the counter with long hair. the rest of the staff are very nice but she can really rub people the wrong way. I asked her about different licorice and could not believe how snotty she was about my lack of licorice knowledge. Those who frequent the place know who I am talking about, she is there a lot and I hear a lot of people agreeing she is not their greatest hire. I know they have heard this a number of times also, Its a candy store for christs sake, its like someone being overly rude at disney land! Who does that? Its the happiest place on earth right? I go here for all my salted licorice, gummy, and Scandinavian candy needs. They always have a good selection (if they're properly stocked and don't run out) and friendly. They are pretty expensive though, which I can understand for imported things, but not everything. Also, I wish some items like the sour belts weren't always in those "$8+" bags. My daughter and I stopped in to the store tonight for a couple of last minute Christmas gifts and were both surprised at how bad the service was. We've been in the store before because it is close to home and full of fun treats. But, tonight with 3 salesgirls working behind the counter and only one customer ahead of us, it seemed like an eternity to get our goods rung up. Two of the salesgirls at the register went back and forth trying to figure out if the customer ahead of us needed a ribbon on her package or whether it warranted a sticker and then proceeded to go in the back room to consult their manual or something. Neither of them said anything like "We'll be with you in a second", just totally ignored us. The 3rd girl behind the counter had her head buried in paperwork and only offered to help after what seemed like a couple of minutes with no salespeople on the floor. Again, not one of the 3 mentioned anything like "thanks for waiting", just total lack of customer relations. I'd understand if the store was packed and alot of activity was going on. But, really nothing was happening at all. I was at Fran's the day before in U. Village & got a totally different experience. They greet you when you walk in, actually attend to you and give you a sample when you are checking out at the register! Perhaps the girls at the Confectionary need a peek at Fran's training manual! read more

This place is cool if you live in the suburbs and enjoy catching up on back issues of Martha Stewart and Simple Living on the weekends. Everything is really pretty with manicured displays of cellophane packaging - in otherwords, its the most overpriced candy you'll ever pay for. As for the candy, there's not a lot of it - a lot of chocolates, truffles, foiled chocolates, and chocolate covered fill-in-the-blank - but good 'ol handcrafted hard candy/taffy/suckers/etc - try Costco. read more

The friendly employees go above and beyond to making my gift of candy extra special by adding colorful ribbons and their trademark sticker, along with their darling pink bags! Super Yum! The Easter Bunny brought chocolates from The Confectionery this year and I was so thrilled. Their chocolate/caramel/pretzel heart is to die for & I love the turtles!!!
