MARISSA WAS THE WORST customer service individual ever!! We pulled up and parked in the click & pick up spot to receive the file cabinet I ordered. I decided to run in a grab a few items while my wife waited in the car for someone to bring out the cabinet. No one ever showed up. I used the ladies room and shopped and 25 minutes passed and still no one showed up to the car. I went to check out with my items and I saw the box with my name on it sitting near the check out counter. I tell the cashier (Marissa *cough* biyotch) that we've been waiting for 30 minutes and I see my box right there. She immediately had an attitude and said she went out twice and never saw anyone. We were literally parked in the first stall as u walk out the door. So I told her I don't know how she didn't see us. She said "I heard you!" in the rudest, snarkiest tone ever! The situation could've ended here with "oh I'm so sorry. I went to the wrong level. Let me help you get this to your car right now". But nooooo... She then said she couldn't find the price on one of my items and would need to go check. When she came back she said all I do is pick the item and take it out. I said "I heard you!" She kept mumbling something under her breath. I tried to read the name on her tag but her long black Elvira-like thinning hair was blocking it. So I said what is your name? Her response was "Marissa"! Do you want to speak to a manager?!" And I said why certainly I would. That wasn't actually my plan but if u insist. ‍ So of course 30 minutes had come and gone and our free parking was no longer Free. I asked another associate for a parking ticket but she needed to call the manager (Stuart) to take care of this. I told Stewie what transpired with Marissa, who btw is too old to be named Marissa. Should be Hazel or Myrtle or Agnes but I digress. He apologized and gave us $6 for parking. HOWEVER, it didn't seem to matter to him how rude she was. He didn't seem shocked at all. I told him Marissa clearly feels like she's untouchable so something humbling really needs to take place for her to come back down to her customer service level of reality. He said nothing. He ended up walking me out to my car and in the end apologized again and said this is not normally how things are at this store. But he never once said he would address the issue with Marissa. PRETTY ANNOYING EXPERIENCE! I have no intentions to ever read more

Really love this place. The service at the Clarendon store is always great. I just had an exceptionally good experience with a gentleman named Paul, who helped us to plan our elfa closets. He was very patient with us, had great ideas, was efficient, and made the closet-planning process even a little bit fun. read more

This is a must for any resident of a modest size house. The closet systems are pricey but worth it. and we have organized everything from trash to shoes with their wares. Can get into wallet creep when you check out but I have been very satisfied with most things I bought. They also are easy to return items. Parking garage is difficult to maneuver on weekends but worth the trip. read more

What can I say....lots of products to choose from for every room in your house. BUT I must say I am really impressed by their order and pick up service! I did not know about it until I made a recent purchase online and choose to pick it up in store. It was a normal order online process but then I received the confirmation email....I actually read the whole email, scrolled down to see a button that I could click when I arrived at the store and by clicking this button it alerts the store that i'm there waiting in the car for my order. Within a few minutes a lovely employee was bringing my purchase out to my car and she then went back to validate my parking. A lovely service that I will use again! Definitely helps when you don't want to walk around the store to find where to pick up your order and get tempted by everything else in the store and then wander around the whole store before grabbing your already purchased item and leaving :) read more

I know that I'm a bit biased-- heck I worked here for over four years, but I was a customer long before I worked there and will be long afterwards. I could go on and on about how much I love my closets from there, but I'm in the middle of a move right now, and my mind is on moving supplies. Trust me, if you need any moving supplies, go here. Better yet, if you need help planning your move and knowing what to get, ask one of their associates- and grab a copy of there free moving guide. The prices are great, and one of the perks of buying those supplies here is that you can overbuy and just return your leftovers- AFTER YOU PACK!!! Heck- you can return them at the closest store to where you moved... And you can order online in advance (Click and Pickup) and they'll just load up your car. Gotta love that! read more

I actually hate shopping and hate getting organized, but I needed shelves, and went to the Container Store for the first time ever a few days ago. I was so impressed by how helpful the staff was, and the quality of the products I decided to purchase. I think it is so rare to actually have an excellent customer service experience these days, but these people went above and beyond to make sure I was finding everything and had my questions answered. I will definitely return to the Clarendon location - even though I kind of don't want to, because that would mean I would have to shop and get organized. Also, a plus - the staff doesn't work on commission, so I feel that I got some honest input from a well-trained team. read more

Never having been in a Container Store, my better half and I decided to take a peek in this one after dinner one Friday night. We fully expected it to be full of...well...containers. However, we found it to be much more. Indeed, there was almost every kind of container you could imagine, to help in storing everything from shoes to pantry items. But there was also a wide array (2 spacious floors) of things including kitchen gadgets, office supplies, and gift wrap. I did notice that some of the signage was very vague and less than helpful in locating items, but since we were just browsing, it wasn't an issue. We didn't look at the closet organization systems, and didn't end up purchasing anything, so I can't speak to the customer service. I would definitely return to this store for not only storage and organizational needs, but also other unique items which I haven't seen elsewhere. read more

Very attentive and friendly people work at this branch of The Container Store. I have always been able to find what I need, and even some things that I didn't even know I needed, until I saw said items in the store. The only downside can be the parking, since it's the common garage in Clarendon, but it is usually not too difficult to get a parking spot, though not as easy as at the Tyson's Corner location. read more

Saw a Bisley cabinet that would work great for organizing my fly tying desk. I was going to buy it on Amazon but saw the Container store had them so I opted to buy it in their store. Found the cabinet I wanted but a sign said to ask for assistance before purchase. Found a store employee who said she would help. Waited, waited, waited. Went to find help but only the cashier was present. I guess they're too busy. I'll just buy it on Amazon. Thanks for wasting my time and $6 in parking. I was very patient also. read more

I went to the container store today to find a way to organize my accessories... I have tons of chunky necklaces/bracelets & don't have a good way to keep them organized. Let me just say that Dupe was AMAZING. She took her time with me today & I ended up leaving a very happy customer. She was so patient, kind and creative. I was so happy especially since I had my 2 kids with me. I never would have gotten the products I needed if I didn't run into her today!!! Then, to top it off, Nicolas helped me carry my bag to my car!!! He was very friendly & helpful as well!! I couldn't be happier with my store visit today! :) read more
