One of the worst experiences we've ever had at a nightclub…read more We arrived around 2:30 a.m. and were immediately met with a rude and disrespectful attitude from someone who appeared to be a manager. We were told a table would be $800 and that access to the bar would require a $200-$300 minimum spend, even though the venue was close to closing. When we politely asked why it was so expensive considering there was only about an hour and a half left before closing, the manager responded with comments along the lines of, "If you can't pay, go somewhere else," and "If you don't have the money, this place isn't for you." We were honestly shocked by the way we were spoken to. Despite that, we decided to pay and go in anyway. Less than an hour later, our group was suddenly approached by security and told to leave. No warning, no explanation, and no reason was given. We were not fighting, bothering anyone, damaging property, or causing any issues. We were simply dancing, taking pictures, and enjoying our night. What happened next was even more shocking. Multiple security guards physically removed members of our group. Once outside, we were met with insults, aggressive behavior, and disrespectful comments. At one point, we were told that "people like you shouldn't come here" and were spoken to in a way that no paying customer should ever be treated. The situation escalated to the point where pepper spray was used on members of our group, who later required medical attention. I strongly encourage TAO management to review all security footage from that night, from the moment we arrived until the moment we were removed. The cameras will show exactly what happened and how this situation escalated. Every venue has the right to enforce its rules. What no customer should have to experience is being treated with disrespect, humiliation, verbal abuse, and unnecessary force. We have never experienced anything like this before, and after the way we were treated, we will never return.

The rooftop views are stunning. Even though it was a colder month and the rooftop seating was closed, they still allowed guests to step out briefly to enjoy the view and take pictures, which was a really nice touch. What truly stood out was the happy hour timing (5-9 PM), which worked perfectly since it was a Friday and everyone could join after work. The happy hour menu was impressive--$5 prosecco, $9 mini martinis, cocktail pitchers, and even magnum-sized bottles of wine to share. There were two cocktails on the menu; one of them was especially delicious and definitely a crowd favorite. We also ordered some bites--truffle fries and pizza, both of which were really good and paired well with the drinks. When making the reservation, I had mentioned that it was a birthday celebration, and they surprised us with a complimentary dessert, which was thoughtful and tasted great. Overall, it was a wonderful birthday evening with great drinks, good food, and a beautiful atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend this place for a memorable night out.

Food-The soft pretzel was huge, so soft, and lightly salted. The cheese sauce was to die for! Drinks- I ordered the sunset drink (as a mocktail) which you can only get during happy hours. It's refreshing and minty with the slightest squeeze of lime. The smoking dove has a bright, initial punch of grapefruit and a smoky aftertaste that lingers on your tongue. The waitresses are so sweet and accommodating too! Just be aware that they do have a live dj playing in the corner and the music can be loud and overwhelming (hence the 4 stars).

The advertising is misleading -- it promotes a "Mimosa Bar and Coffee Bar," which makes it sound like both are unlimited. In reality, the coffee is unlimited, but you only get TWO mimosas per person. The past two years included unlimited mimosas, which was honestly the only thing that made the overpriced buffet feel somewhat worth it. The buffet itself is average at best, and the omelette station is painfully slow. By the time you finally get your omelette and make it back to the table, the rest of your food is ice cold. For the amount they charge, the experience and value just are not there anymore. Eggs Benedict only comes with pork option, Pasta and potatoes - tasteless, low lighting so you can't even see the food, buffet servers sometimes handing you the tongs to do it yourself, or sometimes you're waiting for them to serve you. I think they are as confused as the patrons are on what to do! Such a disappointment, especially for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. And judging by the crowd this year compared to last year and before, other patrons are catching on too. Being deceptive is never a good look.

The DJ played dance music throughout the hour+ long stay, the place was packed with cheerful patrons, and the dancing was non-stop. Our Bartender crafted strong and well presented drinks (Strawberry Margaritas and Red Sangria), tended to us with a smile, and we appreciated her humor. If you're in the area of 55th Street and 7th Avenue on a Saturday afternoon, don't hesitate to visit Vida Verde. You'll have a fabulous time and return for more. P.S. - Vida Verde also serves a delicious and affordable weekday lunch special, which I have enjoyed and highly recommend.

Service is fast and friendly, and the food is pretty good too. My one complaint is that it is extremely loud! My ears actually hurt after watching one of the Knicks games. Food includes salads, Rubens, chicken sandwiches, pizzas (but do you really wanna get your New York style pizza from here?). Lots of shareable apps like quesadillas, wings, shrimp, mozzarella sticks, fries, sliders, nachos. They also have burgers. Again, not fancy, not mind-blowing. But an easy place to step into a chill for a while when you have some time to kill on broadway.
