Lobster bisque and Caesar salad w/ white anchovies (kinda fishy but still good), My wife got the filet and I got the scallop carbonara (some of the best scallops and pasta I've ever had), and then got the desert to go. Chocolate torte and lemon goat cheese cake. Everything was amazing and we are glad we made the 30 minute drive while vacationing in Rangeley.

What a lovely setting in a lovely part of Maine. Not at all crowded on a Thursday night (well the tiny bar was Packed). After 5 consecutive days of hiking this was our choice for a dinner out. The wine list is extensive; 18 reds and 17 Whites. I live in NYC and not many places have that (and i get around). Long cocktail list too, featuring local spirits. Had a vodka and cucumber drink, didn't finish it. On to the food... again quite a long menu with a lot of variety but I found that many of the dishes had either dairy/cheese/gluten or meat in them even if poultry or fish. If you are selective or picky it can Make things tricky. All I wanted was some clean fish or seafood but they all had one or 2 of the above in them. Opted for a variety of apps. Our sever was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu but not at all about the wine. She actually made a comment about not "being able to taste them". I hope that's not policy bc the server should absolutely try and know every wine. The lobster bisque, an absolute indulgence for me was mediocre. Mostly tasted like cream, no discernible seafood flavor. The foie gras app was overpowered by the balsamic reduction and banana bread. Diner rolls were served warm and with butter, a nice touch. Last item was a grilled asparagus salad with one of their fresh eggs. It was nice. Just nice. Dessert menu also long! Yeah. Had the strawberry shortcake, a large biscuit with macerated strawberries and huge dollop of whip cream. I ate the whole thing and was so full I couldn't finish my wine. I would come again bc it's a nice place with lots of variety, not everything hits the mark.

WELL let me tell you, it's safe to assume the restaurant is awesome if they win a James Beard award!!! So food, service and ambiance .... Food - Everything we had was awesome! I think you can say it is an 8 course diner including the roll with the whipped maple butter. You're given a few options for your appetizer, entree and desert, while the rest of the courses are standard for the night. I believe the menu, at least in part, changes thru-out the year. All of the dishes were a good size for a bigger menu. Flavors, textures and seasonings for each dish were very thoughtfully crafted, the effort and love is unmistakeable. Our meal was about 3 hours and it really didn't feel like it, everyone left full!!! It's priced at $115 per person, not including drinks or gratuity. Well worth it! Service - while the service was good, our server was prompt and mindful of drink refills as well as getting the order correct, however my one criticism of our dinner was that the service did not meet the standard of dining like this. At this level, you're paying for more, food costs more so the gratuity costs more and the expectation is higher for BOTH! No-one is okay paying for a BMW and getting a KIA. There really is an art and expertise needed to work as a server for a high end restaurant, you cannot serve people like your working at the Olive Garden. It reflects poorly on the restaurant when one of the team doesn't preform to meet the standard, and can affect the dining experience. We didn't care but certainly an area for improvement.... maybe just an off night. Ambiance - the restaurant is tastefully decorated, clean, plain and very spacious. It's not a $30 million building with fancy marble, it's got a small town feel and very comfortable. They don't have the tables packed in there. No-one likes getting their chair kicked or elbow rubbed while eating... Towards the end of the meal we met the chef and owner lulu, who was so down to earth, easy to talk to and very humble... such a nice person. If you're looking for quality fine dining in Maine then I absolutely recommend you make a reservation and take a drive. The Quarry is absolutely a hidden gem.

The staff was perfect, lovely owner always makes the rounds and the porch provides a lakeside view. Every dish was delicious and well plated. Dietary preferences are followed. This is placed off the top of a ski lift. When you enter you see a beautiful room, filled with yellow tables and chairs, and huge windows to see the rest of the mountain. It's warm, inviting, and great for groups. We were all impressed by how stunning the place looked as we walked in. I came with a group of 6 people after a morning of skiing. We were cold, hungry, and ready to eat. Nest more than met our expectations. We had an assortment of cocktails, cocoas, chilis, and sandwiches. I personally loved the Cubano sandwich. It is huge! I recommend sharing with a friend. It's not like a typical Cubano, but it's a fun twist. The bread was a perfect texture and the dijon mustard added great flavor. I was impressed by how well plated the food was for being on a ski mountain. Cocktails were good, but pricey. Hot cocoas were cheaper and more delicious! Overall the food was awesome, great for sharing, and reasonably priced. I don't ski at Saddleback often, but when I come back I will make a point to stop for lunch again. High recommend!

Definitely a great place to eat while T Saddleback.

The ladies had seltzer and a beer. We ordered the Smash burger, the Roast Beef melt, and the Ramen. There was a chalk board hanging on the wall which had the meat and fish options for sale! So they do sell meats and fish but are more of a restaurant! Got it! The food came out in a timely fashion and looked great! The Ramen especially looked delightful! My Roast Beef melt was good. A bit greasy but that's to be expected with melts, cucumber salad was delicious, the fries were crispy and tasty. Smash burger was Huge and very delicious or so I was told. Bartender was wonderful making sure we had what we needed as well as providing drinks for the wait staff. Everyone was having a nice meal on a rainy Saturday in September. I definitely will be back with my husband when we drive over from Rangeley. May even grab some Game sausages.
