I had lunch here today with my mom. The eggs in my bowl, poached soft, came poached hard. The house-made biscuit had the texture of a spongey bread, NOT a flakey or buttery biscuit. The latte had almost no coffee flavor. We had to ask for plates/spoons, etc. My mom's salad had almost no dressing. The food also took over 30 minutes to arrive and was awful once it finally arrived. This relatively new restaurant is a nice addition to the area. I have had number of business breakfasts and lunches there. Great menu for both. Food is excellent and the coffee is exceptional. The only fly in their ointment is that the wait staff are somewhat inattentive. I have had to get up from the table, on more than one occasion, to track down somebody with a coffee pot for a refill. Also, getting check can be a challenge. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant because the food is well worth it - just have low expectations for the service and enjoy. read more

I came here for a weekend breakfast with the family. It was an awesome more chic coffeehouse store atmosphere inside the restaurant. Service was friendly. AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Service was great, our waitress Helena was so nice and had great recommendations. I got the pancakes with berries and a side of a scrambled egg. Both were phenomenal and exceeded my expectations. The pancake was served with a side of cinnamon butter which really pushed it over the top. What a cute spot! We came for brunch and had wonderful service! Had a hazelnut latte that was nice and hot, not too sweet which I like. Also had the Mexican Hash with an over-medium egg and English muffin. Seasoned well but was hoping for more spice so I added some hot sauce. If you order this hash I definitely recommend having your yolks runny (at least over-medium), the yolk makes for a gooey sauce which I think it needs! Will be back to try more. read more

We enjoyed our breakfast of caramel pancakes, pancake with fresh fruit, homemade English muffins, over easy eggs, and hashbowns that needed a little more crispness. We have been here before for dinner but just went for the first time for breakfast. This will now be in our regular rotation for breakfast restaurants. I had the all-American breakfast bowl and it was cooked perfectly. My wife got the Mexican breakfast bowl and the peppers gave it the perfect amount of heat. The Copperfield is located in a West St Paul residential neighborhood, across the street from The Village in Mendota Heights. Thanks to the FEDEX driver for pointing it out. The Farmer's Market Bowl was colorful in presentation, and sufficiently large without being overdone. An oversized mug of perfect hot water with a bowl of 5 different teabags, as well as a large glass of chilled water with ice, delivered to my table, constituted a perfect lunch on a hot day. No service charge, a scam in some St Paul restaurants, and a discount for cash. Excellent service. read more

Had lunch with a friend - first visit. We arrived at 12:30 and were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Sorry, I didn't take any picture as the presentation was very nice for both of our dishes. My friend had the BLTA which looked really yummy - I'll try it another time - and was generous enough that she took half home, along with half off the waffle fries. I tried a few of the waffle fries and they were very good - crispy outside and tender inside. I had the beet and goat cheese salad with chicken. It was also wonderful with both gold and red beets and a not too tart vinaigrette dressing. I loved that it had walnut pieces on it!! The chicken was a bit sparse for the $, but I would not hesitate to order the salad again. We saved no room for dessert -- will have to plan better next time as the desserts sound wonderful too. The reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the noise level -- we noted that to have a better experience we need to plan to meet at 2pm next time. A friend and I were in the area and stopped, on impulse, for breakfast. It was midmorning on a weekday and so we enjoyed the spacious quiet. The outdoor seating also looked lovely for a warmer day. The host and server were super friendly and accommodating and wow, the food was tasty! We split the Mex bowl and the caramel roll pancakes. My cappuccino was also quite nice. I never thought I would journey to Mendota Heights for breakfast but this place will draw us back from St. Paul. read more

Not good because we never ate. We had a reservation for 6:30 on a non busy Saturday night. We placed our orders and 30 minutes later our server came back and told me my meal was ready but the walleye my husband ordered was not available. They asked him to choose something else. The business appears to be mismanaged and has a lack of communication amongst the staff. A week prior to Fathers Day I called to make reservations and talk about patio seating. I was told that the patio does not take reservations and is FCFS. I then asked if I could make an indoor reservation and be seated outside and was told that that was not an option. Planning for Fathers Day this didn't seem right, but I took their word. Arriving at 9 AM my family of four and three others were turned away at the door as patio seating was only available for overflow seating. The patio was empty and approximately 10% of the indoor space was being used. What overflow were they planning for? I did my best to explain my situation and that I did my due diligence to call ahead and gather as much info as possible. We were shown no flexibility and ultimately turned away. Extremely disappointed, confused and very upset. Try telling your two year old that he's not going out for breakfast with grandma and grandpa. The food may be great. The atmosphere looked nice. However we will never attempt to eat here ever again. read more

While their happy hour specials aren't anything to rush in for, I love half price wine bottle night. Reservations on resy are great for the breakfast rush. My only frustration is that it is January 2022 and both Minneapolis and St Paul are both enforcing mask mandates- I know we're in the suburbs, but the Copperfield staff is not currently wearing masks which feels counterproductive. read more

Only a 10 minute wait but as soon as we sat down we asked for coffee. 15 minutes later I flagged a manager cleaning a table and asked again for coffee. Finally! I didn't mind the 25 minute wait for food but if you serve breakfast, quick coffee is very important! Obviously they are short staffed like everyone else but if you can bring us water right away, you can bring us coffee. Food was good.
