Wow! Bloomington our old neighborhood has CHANGED! Ambiance here bright and cheerful. Great vibe - fabulous service! so happy for the area and it's wonderful growth. The bartendress was absolutely brilliant!! She got everyone's beverage in a timely fashion ( I don't know how), all by herself! Very pleasant, very welcoming. Thank you Mary! Chicken & Waffle with eggs

Wanted some brunch and this place came up during our search so why not. Located inside a strip food/store plaza so there are plenty of parking. It was pretty packed with no close by parking on a Saturday. We were able to get seated right away since it was the end of brunch time. Service was a little slow at first. We had to wait a little before getting water but seems like there wasn't a lot of worker that day. The food came out pretty quick I would say. Chicken waffle: the chicken portion seems a bit smaller than other places we been two. Basically like 2 chicken tenders on top of a waffle and pretty small. Usually we see the chicken cover the whole waffle from other brunch places. Maybe should add another piece of tender to be honest. I believe the eggs came with the order. Tenders weren't as juicy but k did like the waffle. Chicken wrap: your typical chicken wrap with sweet potato on the side. Also nothing much special. Overall an average place for some brunch options that is nearby. I don't recall there being a lot of options compared to other places I've been to but good enough. Would come back to try other things and see.

Delicious breakfast options for our brunch date! I had the croque madame and loved it--crunchy toasted bread layered with plenty of Gruyère, topped with a silky gravy and a soft egg. So good! I'm already plotting a return trip with the girls to try out their Mimosa Flight. The vibe here is just as good as the food. The space is decorated with adorable, modern touches, and the patio was especially gorgeous today with all the colorful flower pots. Service was excellent--our waitress was so friendly, attentive, and helpful. My only disappointment: no espresso drinks on the menu. With a name like Perk Up, I was really expecting a cappuccino or latte option. Still, everything else made for a fantastic brunch spot!

Perk Up Kitchen was the perfect lunch spot today! One of the BIGGEST club sandwiches that I've ever had - and was so yummy. Service was super quick and friendly. I bellied up to the bar as a solo, and it was so nice with a big TV to watch. Looks like they have a full bar too! Gotta come back for a cinnamon roll

After taking advantage of free hotel breakfast for the length of our trip to the wanted a good brunch place to finish the trip with and found Perm Up Kitchen on Yelp. The space is beautiful with a fresh summery Aesthetic. The menu has fresh seasonal rotation of options to satisfy all. They're also in the process of expanding a bit with a future outdoor patio areas which will be a great place for spring and summer brunch outings. I got the breakfast sandwich with the bread swapped for their house made focaccia. The sandwich was flavor packed with the pesto and turkey sausage. The bread was light fluffy and had the perfect toast on the inner sections. If you're considering the sandwich I must suggest the bread swap for an amazing sandwich that will be crave worthy! Staff were amazing and everything was quick even with a full house! Will absolutely book mark this for a return trip!

Perk Up Kitchen has that cozy, family-friendly feel that makes you want to sit and stay a while. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I ordered the chicken and waffle, fried chicken tenders on a cornbread waffle, topped with spicy honey and honey butter, served with two eggs any style. Yes, and thank you. While my chicken was a little on the dry side, the flavor still came through, and that spicy honey helped tie it all together. I'd definitely order it again. The cornbread waffle was a standout... comforting, flavorful, and just the right touch of sweetness. Friendly service, good food, and a great vibe. I'll be back.

What a fun, bright and happy place to have breakfast. The menu offers great variety and is super yummy! The A La carte menu is spot on!! Service is pleasant. This isn't close to our house but we'll definitely be back. Parking is super easy with a lot right out front.

There is a lot to love about this spot. You will find it in a strip mall set deep into Bloomington with plenty of private lot parking. I would never have come here except for an errand that put me out that direction. Now that I know what and where it is, the 15 miles I would need to drive to get to it in the future is totally worth it. It's a bright, modern take on a brunch cafe' with some touches of nostalgia on the walls and the finishing details of the ceiling. Open every day and closed by 2, I love that this husband/wife operation has just about everything made from scratch. Clearly there is a high degree of food integrity here as they work with local purveyors to source great ingredients. They also own their own coffee shop so they serve their own beans that are roasted weekly. While the refillable cup is not cheap ($5), it is definitely a big step above typical diner coffee. There is also a bar here where they have a full menu of interesting brunch cocktails in case it is the kind of day that needs that sort of enhancement. The staff were friendly, helpful and really great about stopping by and conversing with the customers. Clearly they are proud of what they are dishing out and they should be. Everyone in the place seemed like they were in a good mood including the line cooks who were throwing out some outstanding food. I noticed that there were some subtle things suggestive of a nod to Aloha (like guava juice on the beverage list) and found out that the owners just like some Hawaiian taste profiles from a previous vacation visit. I love that they brought this back to the middle of MN. Now, if they would just put a local Hawaiian breakfast special like Spam and Eggs with Rice or Loco Moco on the menu, I would guarantee that I would make the drive there quite often for some of that comfort food from the motherland! Prices here are not cheap but they are also not out of line for what you get. Portions are large and the local sourcing of high-quality ingredients definitely makes you realize that you are getting what you pay for. There are places you will not want to miss a shot at having brunch at if given the chance. This is one of them.

I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want this place to become anymore popular than it already is! Alas, I must because this place is amazing. The food is amazing. The service is amazing. It is the perfect little brunch place with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's not a huge place, but I think that's part of the charm. Everyone we interacted with had a genuinely happy demeanor and it certainly was infectious. I know a good flight of any kind so the mimosa flight certainly couldn't be beat. The seasonal menu was something I'll be thinking about for a long time, I'm already looking forward to the next one. Yum!

Our second visit. Friendly owner greeted us. Counter seating today and had Bloody Mary's Spicey($2) up charge. Bright fun interior. Building outdoor seating open air with heaters and blankets- seats 60 out there spot be done. Open kitchen- nice restrooms-clean- friendly staff. Had Frittatas a meal baked in a cast iron skillet, complete with sides of spring mix, light dressing, toast or muffin and potatoes and delicious! Fresh hot coffee in sunshine mugs with free one time coffee. Seats presently about 13 Tables, generally a wait, great service, price each $35. Giant cinnamon rolls and a great menu. Pricey but a nice change and they were packed. Ample parking. They also own West Side Perks.

Second visit! Parker is a friendly and very efficient server! Love this clever, imaginative menu and options for breakfast cocktails, even a Mimosa flight. It is very busy, which is good, and pretty noisy but we love it! I had Sunday in Itally Frittata this time. Wow. Enjoy the photos. Will definitely return!

The inside is beautiful and made for a really nice dining experience. We started with the Eichten's cheese curds, and they were excellent. They were soft on the inside, some had a great cheese pull, and the spicy dipping sauce paired really well with them. I ordered the Flat Iron Frites. The steak was seasoned well, cooked nicely, and didn't have much fat, which I appreciated. The fries were crispy and came with house-made ketchup. I usually don't even like ketchup, but this one was actually really good. My partner ordered the deviled eggs as his appetizer, and he enjoyed them so much he finished them in no time. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake Crème Brûlée, and it was fantastic. I've never had crème brûlée like that before. It was a unique twist on a classic dessert and ended the meal perfectly. The only small downside was that the complimentary water tasted clean and fresh. But it was warm instead of cold. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service made for a great experience, and I'd happily return. Glad i was able to cross this one off of my list.

The birria beef was flavorful, but there was a little too much avocado crema for my taste, and the consommé didn't have much flavor, which was disappointing since that's usually one of the best parts of a birria dish. My mother-in-law ordered a rice bowl and said it was huge but had way too much rice compared to everything else. My partner had the Alfredo, and that was probably the favorite at our table. It was creamy, tasted great, and I liked that they used cavatappi pasta instead of the usual fettuccine. We skipped appetizers and dessert this time. Overall, the food was decent but didn't really wow me. I'd give it about 3 out of 5 stars. The Alfredo was a pleasant surprise, but the loud atmosphere and a few misses with the food would make me think twice before coming back during a busy event.

My one big gripe about this place is that the games itself are overly expensive and I understand that they give you "bonus credits" for what you spend when you initially get your card. I only put $10 in but I only played a few games since that's all that I could afford. Mainly I just enjoy playing all the pinball games which I was sucker for. There were still some things we really enjoyed, though, and I'm glad we gave it a try. We started with the French Onion Soup, which was one of my favorite parts of the meal. I loved that they used croutons instead of one giant piece of bread. Much easier to eat--no fighting with a giant bread raft to get to my soup! The flavor was really nice too. I had the Bolognese Pappardelle, which was good, and my partner really enjoyed his Hanger Steak. He also tried the Garlic Herb Mushrooms, but those weren't really his thing. I ordered the N.A. Lela Punch, and that one surprised me. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it grew on me as I drank it. Apparently we just needed a little time to get acquainted. Dessert was an adventure. I decided to try the White Chocolate Panna Cotta because I'd never had panna cotta before. It was beautifully plated, but this is also how I learned panna cotta has a Jell-O-like texture... and I do not like Jell-O. That's definitely a me problem rather than a criticism of how it was prepared. At least I can officially say I've tried panna cotta! I ended up trying the Crème Brûlée as well. Unfortunately, that wasn't my favorite either. I usually love crème brûlée, but I prefer the custard very smooth and creamy, and this one was thicker than I personally like. My partner had the Chocolate Molten Cake and thought it was okay, but it wasn't a favorite for him either. Overall, Lela had some definite highlights--the French Onion Soup, Bolognese Pappardelle, and Hanger Steak especially--but we also had a few misses. I can understand why other people really enjoy it; it just wasn't quite the restaurant for us. And hey, every restaurant adventure can't end with a new favorite. good place and reasonably priced food…read more wife and I met up my in-laws for a bite on Saturday around 5pm. it wasn't crowded at all, and we were seated right away. (it did get busier while we were there) the menu isn't huge, but it has a big variety of items - burger, tacos, pastas, etc father in-law and I both opted for a burger, wife and monthe in-law split a burger and a fried chicken sandwich. verdicts on the burgers: they're half pound patties with a simple prep (just salt and pepper that I could tell). honestly, if you can't get a simple prep right, you have no business selling them. we all thoroughly enjoyed them. verdicts on the fried chicken sandwich: I didn't try it, so I'm relying on my wife here. she said it was just "ok". the chicken was a bit dry and lacked seasoning. it came with a Cajun remoulade sauce on the side that I did try. none of us really liked it. I felt it had way too much Cajun seasoning and just kind of overpowered everything. all sandwiches came with an absolute mountain of fries which were crispy, seasoned perfection. nothing is worse than soggy fries, and I would have walked out right then if they were floppy. well, not really, but I still hate soggy fries. ambiance: we were seated at a booth by the bar, so it was a little loud, but we were still able to hold a conversation without having to yell. price: mains range from $15-24, so not too bad. we didn't get any appetizers. I'd definitely go back and get another burger.

What made the experience confusing was that I could see several empty tables, so I politely asked for clarification. I was then told there was an event happening, but there was no indication of an event, nor was I given any explanation about how that affected seating. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was seeing other people being welcomed in afterward without seemingly being informed that the restaurant was "full" or that an event was taking place. (Neither of which stated they were there for the event, and was seated at two of the empty tables.) I want to be careful about making assumptions about anyone's intentions, but as a diverse customer, the interaction left me feeling unwelcome and questioning whether I was being treated differently because of how I looked. There was no clear explanation, no alternative offered, and ultimately no opportunity for me to even experience the restaurant as a first-time customer. (Attempted to come back another day, was told the same thing, and was advised I could have beer, but no food or cocktails @ 6pm. Simply just left and gave up on this place.) I understand that businesses can have private events, capacity limitations, or other reasons for turning customers away. The issue was the lack of transparency and the way the situation was handled. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, mine was that I wasn't wanted there. The location itself seemed like it could be a nice place, which is why the experience was disappointing. I hope management takes a closer look at how situations like this are communicated and how all customers are made to feel welcome. (If that matters.)
