Chill speakeasy vibe. We ordered a couple of craft cocktails and they were both 10/10. All that's missing was a nice playlist.

If you're looking for a place to do it dim the lighting in good drinks this is perfect for you. The drinks are not too strong and not too sweet a good balance.

The service was great; the bartender gave us a few recommendations. I probably won't be back, or perhaps this would only be the last stop for the night. The ambiance is nice, but it's too dark and small for comfort. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. I ordered an Officers' Club in replacement of an espresso martini. It was sweet, almost dessert-like, similar to a White Russian but with an earthy flavor, if that makes sense. My friend ordered a lemon drop, but it was not good. It had a lot of honey and lemon, and it almost tasted like a Starbucks green tea lemonade refresher with loads of honey.

I finally checked out the fantastic wig of coral! We had the spirit free cocktails (mocktails) and really enjoyed them. I loved the ginger scotch bonnet one and my friend had a guava flavored one. Both were absolutely fantastic. The ambiance was beautiful. I want to make all of the lamps!!! The service was super fast, knowledgable and really nice. I have an allergy and they took the time to make sure the ingredients were safe for me. I am definitely going to go again and try more things. The music was also really great too.

I almost don't want to write this review because The Coral Wig is the kind of place you want to keep a secret--but it's too good not to share! My husband and I decided to check out this sexy little speakeasy, and we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the bartender. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, perfect for a quiet drink or a romantic evening. We found a spot in the corner, which felt just right for soaking in the vibe. We tried two drinks, and I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures (though it's tempting to keep this gem off the radar!). A word of advice: it's a small space, so it can get crowded quickly. Luckily, we arrived just in time to grab a spot. If you're lucky enough to find The Coral Wig, enjoy--but don't tell too many people. Let's keep this little treasure just for those in the know!

Love the Coral Wig! Cocktails are excellently crafted & for the quality they are a great price. They do not serve food however, so eat before you go. Service is awesome, it's gets really crowded at times but the bartenders do a great job of being attentive to everyone. The atmosphere is dark mysterious and a lovely vibe. Perfect for date night or a solo night cap. Highly recommend checking them out.

This place was interesting. I was excited to try it and recently came, but not sure I would visit again. It's hard to find, but luckily, I read the reviews. It's in the alley adjacent to the Ulysses hotel. Parking isn't terrible - got a spot right out front. It's very dark in here. Seating is first come, first serve. It was so dark that we couldn't even see the menu. It's only drinks. No food, but there are nearby options. My reason for this 3-star review is the confusion about how service works. We sat at a table, but no sever came up to us. Went to the bar to place an oder. While we sat at the table, we had observed patrons being brought their drinks. Not the case for us. We had to get up and get them from the bar. Went several times to check before finally getting them. The drinks were just ok. Ehh!

Cool speakeasy open late at night. We went around midnight and they were packed. Luckily, we got seated immediately. The cocktail menu seems well thought out and they keep it interesting by combining classic and exotic ingredients. Very dark and intimate inside - perfect for a date night.

Baltimore leads the way in cocktail culture. There are so many exceptional places from which to choose. One of my favorites is the Tiki-inspired Coral Wig. Each drink is a work of art, and the place has such a cool vibe.

Someone designed this place after accessing the recesses of my mind and answering the question: "What does the perfect bar look like if it is cocktail-centric, has knowledgeable bartenders, a tiki twang, and wants to pretend it is a speakeasy?" No televisions here - the company you keep and the quality of the cocktails is what drives your experience at Coral Wig. The cocktail menu is affordable and varied, the bartenders know their craft, and the atmosphere is chill, dark, yet warm in the glow of candlelight. I enjoyed what I would consider to be one of the top five cocktails I have ever had: The Venus Sunray, which consisted of Rhum Agricole (a French Caribbean rum), Chartreuse, pineapple, cardamom, and ginger flavors, double shaken and double strained, and served in an elegant coupe glass. The potion was perfectly balanced between sweet, sour, savory, and boozy. Enjoying the vibes here so much, my friend and I remained for a second round, where I tested the bartender's skill with a standard cocktail: The official drink of Martinique - The Ti'Punch. It was perfectly made with expressed lime, cane syrup, and more of the Agricole Rum, and it's correct presentation put this bar on an S-tier list for me. If you are looking for a COCKTAIL BAR in Baltimore, look no further, you have found it.

My boyfriend loves taking me to speakeasy, he actually picked out The Coral Wig. I love the chill vibes and the overall esthetics. I ordered the officers club and it is delicious. It is made with potato vodka, pandan, coffee and coconut. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a cute late night spot.

New favorite for me. The Coral Wig is situated in the bottom of the hotel Ulysses, off of Reed Street in Mount Vernon. Although the concept is not deemed tiki, the decor, the music, and atmosphere overall gives an elevated tiki bar with a hint of speakeasy without the fluff, the drinks are well crafted, the staff is knowledgeable and attentive even at times when the bar is swamped. The space holds about 35 to 40 folks but if you're familiar with Clavel, W.C. Harlan, you'll know what type of experience to expect from the group that has brought you those amazing gems. Although the bar can get packed at times, typically turnover is quick. I'm sure if they sold food or offered little bites in the space people would never leave and that just says a lot about the location.

I have never been splashed in the face during the shaking of a drink that was being made by the bartender. The bartender was of a different race and seemed annoyed by my presence from the jump. I had been splashed in the face twice until a customer of his race came and sat next to me. I did pay attention to his behavior while the woman was seated next to me and his drink mixing wasn't as aggressive. I had to go to the bathroom during my visit and told him I would pay before going to the bathroom so he wouldn't make any assumptions about me. I asked him to keep my drink behind the bar because the woman was still seated next to me. I came back and the woman eventually left. I was still finishing my drink and I was splashed 2 additional times. The last time I made him aware of what he was doing. His apology was disingenuous and passive aggressive. I left after this even though I had intentions on ordering desert and listening to the musicians that were about to get started. I did inform the manager about my experience prior to leaving. I'm leaving the review bc the experience still bothers me. If they have cameras at the bar I'm sure my reaction to the splashing can be observed.

I went an hour early before everyone else was supposed to be there to get on the waitlist, but the wait was until 10 pm!! So I quickly switched gears and called Benny's because I've heard great things about them. The gentlemen who answered the phone was so kind, and was able to squeeze us in on the fly on a Saturday night, and they weren't slow. Got there super early because I was already in the area, and my wife and I decided to have an old fashioned and an espresso martini at the bar while we waited and they were excellent. The ambiance was upscale but still managed to be relaxed and comfortable. We had a lovely dinner, the waiter was busy but was still attentive and patient. Our whole experience was awesome, so we were already going back in the future. Yesterday I realized a mistake on my bank account from the bar charge, so I called around 6 pm and spoke to the same gentlemen as before. He got all my info and promised he'd call back in 5 minutes. I didn't really expect 5 minutes because I know how crazy the dinner rush would be at an Italian restaurant with a Wednesday wine special. Not even 3 minutes later he called back, and explained what happened, fixed it and I got a follow up text immediately letting us know the refund was already in process. Now, I've been in the service industry and I was a bartender, so I understand that I'm going to be a little biased here but from beginning to end Benny's went above and beyond. They clearly appreciate their customers and love their work, it shows.
