After biking for nearly 12 hours, my friend and I stopped in for dinner on the last Saturday of September, and we were starving! My friend and I were looking at a few items on the menu, and my line of questioning narrowed me down to my final selection. (1) Q: Were the veggie burgers fresh or frozen; A: Frozen/store bought (totally fair enough as a menu this large, frozen is pretty much a guarantee). (2) Q: Is the Breast of Turkey sandwich cold cuts or slices of actual turkey breast; A: cold cuts. Fine! By process of elimination, I went with the Grilled Chicken Cutlet Sandwich (as did my friend). It was COMPLETELY disgusting. The first couple bites on the outside were delicious; however as I got deeper into the chicken it just got more and more rubbery. I've never bit into a chicken that had texture like that; and it wasn't until we were almost finished that we discovered both of our sandwiches had the same odd taste/texture. I'm not one to complain about food to servers (fear of cook/chef/server repercussions), and after 12 hours of straight bike riding from Hither Hills in Montauk to the North Fork and back, we were going to eat anything put in front of us...which we did. Was the food absolutely disgusting and made us fear for a couple hours to a potential negative digestive reaction (which we did not have), yes. Did we eat it, pay, and leave...yes. HOWEVER, that does not excuse the establishment from obviously serving customers frozen/freezer burned chicken (that was probably EXTREMELY OLD based on the "quality"). After two of my friends and I took the long 4.5 mile walk into town, while also having worked the entire morning, we were famished for dinner. After walking around the little town centre we settled on trying some good 'ole pub food. Veggie burger was just what I needed, fries were so scrumptious. My friend got the quinoa and mushroom burger, LOVED IT, and my other friend got the meat option - also a winner! Plus a local beer to top it all off. The drinks are so, so, the Bar Staff could be nicer, LOVE the Mussels and the Buffalo Shrimp but the Cooks make your Burger their way. Wait staff in need of help, good luck with that. This is the second time I ate here. The food was really good Last time I had the spinach salad (huge) and the flounder Today I had the calamari and the Steak (delicious) Kate was my waitress. 5 stars given for their wings alone. Popped in mid afternoon for a drink or two and decided on the wings. The wings were sooooooo good. They were fried to perfection and basically slid off the bone into your mouth. On top of that, their buffalo sauce flavoring was simply delicious- warm with a little bit of spice. Wow.... Nice surprise..... Interesting Vegie Burger made with Quinoa ... A huge beet salad that was off the charts... Very reasonable and good service in a casual pub atmosphere. We may never be back to Sag Harbor but would recommend for anyone who happens to be visiting this great area. read more

came in here with a large group and the corner bar was able to accommodate us immediately. they have a great selection of local draft beers, served ice cold at a reasonable price. oh and they have party mix out on the bar, for you to get in that salty crunch while sipping away on a cold brew. food wise its pretty standard pub fare, there were def some highs and lows regarding the food. the highs- crab cake, buffalo shrimp, onion rings, seafood chowder and the chicken cranberry salad. all of these tasted great! the lows- calamari (bad breading, needed to be fried longer) clam chowder (tasted like campbells) and the chicken wings (super breaded). for the location, the prices here are right. its super casual and relaxed atmosphere. would be nice to stop in for late lunch or some happy hour action. read more

I usud to love this place but not anymore. I had the worst Fish & Chips here. The fish was soaked with oil, just gross. Waitress is so busy you can barely tell her your order and she's off to go but you have to wait for the food for a while though. I will not go back anymore. read more

We ordered the nacho's for a starter. A huge plate came in less than 5 minutes, easily enough for 4 to 6 people. It was loaded with meat and cheese plus some great quality sour cream and salsa on the side. All of that was accompanied with a big stack of napkins, which you need because this is sloppy eating. Before we could finish, my Lamb Burger arrived. A nice patty with Tzatziki sauce, lettuce and tomato on a good quality roll. Also on the plate was a big serving of the best French fries I ever had. First time walking in this bar last night on a Thursday night around 10pm and horrible attitude from the bartender very rude and disrespectful because I ordered only 1 beer and did not leave a tip,a tip is not mandatory and it's up to the paying customer whether or not they feel the service was worth giving a tip,This was my first time in the corner bar and definitely won't be going back thanks to a disrespectful bartender that feels I OWED him a tip! Dinner options in Sag Harbor on an August Monday can make you want to pull your hair out. Most places are crowded more than they are on the weekends and there's only so much ice cream or staring at the water a man can do before saying "screw it," getting a pizza, and heading home. En lieu of pizza, we decided on the Corner Bar...two doors down and one of the cheapest options for dinner in Sag. I had my second order of clams casino for the day...although, in truth, Corner Bar's clams were more Rockefeller than Casino. Cheese on my clams casino? Really...? Their burger was tasty, but woefully underseasoned. The meat was fresh and loosely packed, but I also did something I don't think I've ever done in all my years of burger consumption...I took the top portion of my kaiser roll off my burger, because it was just too much bun! Seriously, I have never done that. I also skipped dessert because there are two ice cream shops a stone's throw away...not to mention I was a bit wary of the "Holey Moses Cheesecake;" because as I asked my dinner companions: is the cake holy like Moses or bespeckled with holes like a piece of Swiss cheese? read more

Good food, slow service, fair prices, great location sum up this joint in Sag Harbor. I recommend this place to people who are not in a hurry. Try to be seated near the windows because our lunchtime view of the harbor surely made our wait a lot more tolerable. I look forward to the next menu item on my next visit to Sag Harbor. read more

This bar is sure thing. I don't know what these other two reviewers were looking for at the corner, but it's not a fancy Italian restaurant, although they do have good pasta. It's one of the only places in the eastern end of long island that hasn't gotten too expensive, and hasn't forgotten how much people like pubs. Go there!! It's good, I promise. read more

When I am in the mood for a good burger and some sweet potato fries, I head down to Sag and hit the Corner Bar. I enjoy sitting at a window table and watching the visitors and regulars pass by. As a native from the area transplanted now in New Orleans, THIS is the real deal in terms of what a local bar/pub should well be and is. No pretense, decent prices,and good service. If they are packed, well, be prepared for a wait, or go somewhere else. The staff and owners are year round folks who work hard to make a living and the locals and tourist mix of clientele makes for an oft times amicable mix and then some. If you're looking for a chic/chic gastronomical full service local joint, this is not the place for you. The staff there bust ass and based on the lowest rate of employee turnover I have seen since I've been going there since the 1970's speaks volumes. read more
