Oysters

Wow! I ordered oysters and they were so good and came out with many sauces. And salsa- so delicious. The margaritas were really good too. The happy hour special they have going is a great deal & wonderful service as well.

Rita Cantina: a perfect fusion of texture and taste We came in from a dreary, rainy night, and from the start we were seamlessly whooshed into not just a restaurant, but an authentic dining destination experience! The vibe is warm, cozy and authentically Mexican, the booth seats adorned with select rich fabrics- strains of Latino music to put you in the mood. The bar was hopping with people enjoying top shelf offerings such as the sublime collection of tequilas here--perhaps a traditional Margarita (or 2..or 3) The waitstaff here are nonstop attentive! ..and the food is inventive, magnificently plated and delicious. Make sure to try the fluke ceviche, also the local oysters which were plump, juicy and seasoned to perfection. The tuna tostadas pops with sushi grade sliced and frizzled onions atop. Every mouthful is fresh and delightful to the palate. The duck Carnitas features a generous half of a barbecued duck, sweet and sassy at the same time, each forkful a personal fiesta. Do not neglect or ignore the side of coleslaw offered with some of the mains. It partners perfectly with the chicken, adding texture and tang! Look out for distinguished Chef Eric Miller, as he oversees the dining room with obvious passion.

Local harvest fluke taco in front, two pieces of street corn cut up in back

My party enjoyed Rita Cantina! The food was good and the prices weren't the typical outrageous level that we see in the Hamptons. My favorite dishes were the tuna ceviche tostada and local harvest fluke taco. The tuna ceviche tostada was just large enough to share and was so fresh. The fluke taco had a very generous portion of fish. The menu said the fluke was flash fried, but otherwise I would've have known since it wasn't too crispy or oily, which I appreciated. The chipotle crema on top was a great compliment to the taco! The only item I didn't love was the street corn. It was boiled instead of grilled and the toppings were not evenly distributed, so it didn't have the same great taste I'm used to.

Much more than a fence. The most unique Mexican east of San Diego.

Definitely off the beaten path but worth the trip. Food was delicious, service was great and ambiance is fun. The only concern is parking, so make sure you visit on the earlier side.

Cool spot with a Mexican/seafood twist. Try the clams and mussels. Great margaritas. Away from the east Hampton town madness.

Delish food and great service. Maybe some citronella candles would be a nice addition to the outside dining area.

This place makes some top tier sauce! I won some of their sauce in a raffle and had a $100 gift…read morecertificate to try them. I was trying to find a way to go there without having to drive so far just for food. I live an hour away from them, so the travel time is what makes going there a deal breaker consistently. It's worth going to East Hampton generally, but it should be a day thing. Not just to go eat. The person who helped us was very knowledgable and asked good questions in terms of what you'd like for your platter. The food was top quality. Our platters were worth every bit of that gift certificate and I'd love to come around this place again! I also had to buy their sauce on the way back home because we use it for some dinners. My only critiques is regarding the mac and cheese. I wish it was more of a homemade baked mac and cheese with the toasted top. But definitely good mac and cheese nonetheless. The mashed sweet potatoes were definitely too seasoned with all spice. It gave it too much of a kick than I was expecting. I liked the seating inside and outside. If we didn't have bad allergies, would've probably sat outside and enjoyed our meal. Also, this place has their own parking area. So that's definitely a plus!

This place is so good! I'm generally not a big fan of BBQ because a lot of times meat is the meat…read moreis dry because it was sitting around for a while, not cooked right, not good quality, etc. I for the 3 meat platter that comes with 2 small sides and a piece of cornbread. I got ribs, brisket, BBQ chicken, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. I also got an order of the little gem salad. The ribs were some of the best I've had in years. Very juicy, excellent smoky flavor. Tender, perfectly cooked. Brisket was okay when it was warm, but after cooling off a little bit, it got very dry. I'm not a big fan of brisket in general because of how dry and hard the texture can get, but this is okay while fresh. The BBQ sauce on the side helped, but I probably wouldn't get it again here. The BBQ chicken was the most disappointing - just shredded chicken smothered in a ton of sauce. It was very dry, like sticks of matches drowning in sauce. Mashed potatoes were very buttery and delicious, but also retained some chunkiness and skin too, which I really liked. Very flavorful and decadent. Mac and cheese was very good as well, but not the toasty top kind. Still very cheesy and good, like they used real cheese. Cornbread was a surprise hit - very moist and soft, denser than most cornbreads, and a lot sweeter than most cornbreads I've had at BBQ places. It tasted more like a dessert corn cake, which I didn't mind at all. The little gem salad tasted very fresh. Dressing was just okay, and the salmon we got on top was very stinky and did not taste fresh. The skin had a nice crunch to it though. I wish the fish had been fresher. The greens were great, so I might just get it with chicken next time, or something else if they would allow that. Overall, really great food! I would definitely go back here again. It's been a while since I've been to a BBQ place that has really good smokey char flavor without tasting burnt, while still retaining juiciness (in the ribs anyway). I'd highly recommend the ribs, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, salad, and cornbread. I want to try some other items as well. Very friendly service too.
