This place was an interesting experience. I had North Sea's clam chowder at Southampton's clam chowder competition last summer, so I decided to try this place out last time I was in town. The photos online are kind of deceiving - this is much more of a bar than a restaurant (though I don't know if they open up dining outdoors during summer). Anyway, we were there during happy hour and also for 50 cent wing night, so we decided to grab some drinks and wings and see where the night took us. Our bartender was really friendly and started us out with a round of drinks and two orders of wings each (they come out as 5 wings each). Wings were good, a decent size considering the price. We started looking at the main menu but it was a little all over the place ($19 for a grilled cheese is also kind of wild but I guess this is the hamptons). I'd come back, though. read more

Came in on a Friday night. Reggae night ! The live music was great. Way in the back I felt like I was on a resort or something. Lol the band was really good. They have a $10 rum punch special on Friday nights to keep with the reggae theme. The Rum punch was pretty sweet. I Couldn't taste much alcohol but it wasn't bad. The front of the bar had a nice amount of people and they were playing different music. The music was good. Hip hop and r&b. Some of the songs were early 90s and 2000s hits. It was a vibe. The guys at the door were darlings and inviting. Welcomed us lovely ladies in graciously. The guys inside were also very pleasant. I'm not sure if there's a difference in going to the back for the reggae night but there was someone sitting in front of the door. We were escorted in to a table. Overall it was a really fun spot with good music. I don't know how many spots in the area have reggae but this spot definitely is go to if that's what you're looking for. We came here from Duck Walk Vineyards and Pumpkin-Town to eat and drink some more. As we were checking the menu, I wanted lemon drop shots for my birthday as tradition that a college friend got me started with. The bartender was friendly and she went ahead to make a few shots for us and it was yummy! We end up not eating here. Their menu did not catch my interest. Sorry. If you want a comfortable run down place to enjoy perfectly cold delicious tap beer with happy locals, this is going to rate 5 stars! But I was here for a meal, too. Big mistake! This is not set up to satisfy diners. We both ordered MEDIUM burgers, on special today for only $10. Over 20 minutes later, we are still sitting without lunch. We were the only diners there by the way, but looked like a couple take out orders were given. Bar average busy on this hot summer afternoon. We asked what was happening with our meals and we were told it was coming. Five more minutes of waiting. Finally, our food arrived with nice hot crisp fries and the requested burger toppings. But what happened to the medium burgers? The chef we were told was " too busy"and messed up the burgers hopelessly. In other words, the chef simply had forgotten about the overcooking burgers. The meat Pattie's were very dry, and tasteless. How could a professional chef screw up so badly our clearly specified medium cooked burgers? How could a chef with so few customers be overwhelmed and be so underperforming? And on Wednesday Burger special day! The waiter never came back to check on the food by the way, even though we were the only dining guests, just feet away from his bar. I ate all my burger because that is just what I do at 2 pm, no matter what mystery meat is served up! My friend stopped chewing after half of her burger was gone, and for the first time, declined to ask for a doggie bag, as her food was so disappointing. I told the server that I was surprised that a chef could not deliver a cooked burger as was specified, Medium. His answer was that the chef was too busy. Nothing was offered, no apology and nothing comped! Bottom Line: Please frequent the North Sea Tavern for their great brews, but avoid this dive bar for food. So many other restaurants selling burgers in town. 1 Star for the worst burger in the Hamptons, and the underperforming and overwhelmed chef. And 1 Star for the waiter, but who is appears to be excellent bar tender. Will spend my hard earned money at restaurants where chefs and waiters take pride in their work. read more

From the outside this place looks decent, and it was perfectly on our routes home. We can win for lunch and we were promptly seated in the back as there really weren't may people in here. There is a large bar and then a seating area in the back. The "restaurant" area itself is pretty run down. There are exposed wires, it was dirty, paint chipping off the walls, space heaters everywhere, not what I was expecting in the slightest. I honestly don't know how it makes it in this area. The food was bleh and way overpriced. My husband and I both got soups, which were ok, and grilled cheeses. The grilled cheese was literally made with kraft singles, and for $16, I was expecting something a little better. The soups were $9 and both tasted old and like they had been sitting in the freezer. I am honestly still pondering how we spent over $60 on 2 soups and 2 grilled cheeses that were both pretty awful. The soda here is also one of those fake brands, I got a coke and I couldn't even describe to you what it tasted like but it wasn't soda. The waitress was fine but slow. Will not return. read more

I went to pick up a carry out order and the person argued with me over and over because he was convinced I was an Uber driver (I'm Indian) and couldn't believe I could possibly have been the person who had ordered the food. He literally followed me out of the restaurant so he could :33 he where my Uber driver car was - this was after repeatedly and condescendingly talking down to me at the restaurant. the pictures on yelp are a little misleading. This is a bar and although I called for a reservation you really dont need one. When I showed up the server had no idea about a reservation but since no one was there sat us quickly. The food was typical bar food and nothing spectacular. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was ok. The fries weren't bad but again this is standard bar fare. Also tried the wings and wasnt overly thrilled either. They were not juicy and the sauce lacked that punch you normally find in wings. The pool table and darts were a nice touch and one of the positives of the place. They had live music in front which was cool but didnt save my experience. Probably wont be back. read more

Believe me when I tell you this place has some of the best food I've had in Southampton. Most places are just scene with crappy food. This place delivers on good times and the food. Great bartenders, great bands, great people, and yes, great food. I've had probably 20 different items off the menu and they're all really fresh and delicious because Luca knows what he's doing. So this is a bar with a kitchen, that accepts credit cards as payment and has its own parking lot with plenty of parking space. As you enter, you'll notice that they have outdoor dining available. Both in front and towards the rear of the building. The Bar Area is placed in the left hand side of the room. There's about 10 beers on tap, with a fairly large and diverse menu of food to select from. They have plenty of tables and chairs within the dining room for midsize to large groups of people to attend, with separate restrooms for men and women. They offer an ATM, Arcade Game such as slots, Darts, Free WIFI, Multiple TV's, Pool Table, TouchTunes, and they play QuickDraw here. Occasionally, they'll have Live Music playing with special events on certain days like Karaoke. They have a security guard posted at the door and Take Out or Delivery is available through DoorDash, GrubHub, and UberEats. I love little local bars especially in the area I grew up but, come on guys let's get it together! I couldn't tell who was bartending and who were patrons. Obvious after sitting at a table for 5 minutes with no attention means you have to order from the bar (I guess?). No one said hello, no one offered a menu, I just took a stab at what they would have and ordered it from the barkeep after he pulled his attention away from Sunday night football. Food was good and drinks as well. With a couple of classes on how to handle guests this place could be a gem. Take this as constructive criticism and pretend that everyone who comes in will give you money for products rendered. In short I would have spent more time, more money and told more people about your spot. Unfortunately this visit didn't receive any of those positive attributes. Get better read more

Came in here with a group of 10 for a pit stop lunch on the way back to the city on a Sunday afternoon and apparently the lunch crowd has not yet discovered this tasty shack since it opened 2 weeks ago. I think our strategy was shock and awe and I'm pretty sure we delivered. We ordered and ate so many dishes - because they were delicious and we are consummate fatties - the staff couldn't stop laughing at us. By the time our request for a 6th burger re-order came up (I mean... $5 burgers are like $1 oysters, ain't nobody eating just 1), we all became BFFs. That burger, man: grass fed beef with shredded parmesan and cherry gold tomatoes and house sauce. Worth the muffin top. My family and I were excited to try this place. Personally I was disappointed because I was hoping it would be amazing, it's so close to my house and looks really cute! We went for dinner after a beach day. Yelp said "kid friendly" so we brought our 2 year old nephew. Bad idea. - First, they served spicy food to this 2 year old. - The clam and corn chowder is a corn and clam salad covered in black pepper. Not even soup or chowder - my cousins steak was served to her over an hour after we all finished our meals (same table) ... This was so insane - our server disappeared and we got a new one, yet service was so confusing and not good - the manager refused to comp the steak which our poor cousin sat there and watched us all eat and just waited and extra hour for her meal!! Overall there is no way I'd recommend this place. I actually feel like they need to make right and fix this place up, from a service perspective. It's a negative experience overall. read more

Where do I begin? Let's start with inedible seafood. Warm smelly shrimp cocktail and oysters that scream NOT FRESH!! Well, we were so pleasantly surprised to see all the improvements that were made to the North Sea Tavern and to the food! It was Burger night tonight. Great prices and the hamburgers were excellent! Some of the best that we've tasted in the Hamptons, very juicy and fresh. The hand cut fries were a welcomed surprise. Yum! And I have to say I LOVE the new outdoor seating area in the back, the patio Biergarten. This is a secret little gem in North Sea. Love this bar. We came here almost every night we stayed in Southampton. It was off-season, so crowds were sporadic. However it still had a great vibe for the time of year. We were hear on a Saturday night and they had live music. Food was decent and staff was very friendly. If there is a large enough crowd they seem to stay open late.
