I've been visiting The Corner Pub about once every week to order the same thing: A Muenster Cheese Slider and the Spinach Dip Plate. The first two times I've ordered, my food has been flawless and delicious. However, on this day, I was served dirty and unclean food and a lump of cheese. The spinach dip plate is served with celery, carrot sticks, cucumber, and small pieces of toast. Usually the spinach is very prominent in the dip and it is a nice spinach to cheese ratio. However this time, there was a little to no spinach in the dish. Also, the vegetables are not served as garnishes, it is actually a part of the plate. So the fact that my salary and carrots were dirty is quite unpleasing. Because I am to eat this not just look at it on the side of the dish. It really sucks the right this review because I have enjoyed this exact order so many times in the past month. And the staff, usually the bartender, that takes my order is always so kind and provides great service. But I hope to not have this happen again. read more

Food and Service could improve. I ordered the Peruvian Chicken and on the first bite I was able to taste how it was very charred. It also seemed like there were extra toppings, I assume to hide how charred the chicken was. I was unable to eat the sandwich and when I called and spoke to the manager about it he offered no apologies or no offer to rectify the issue. Service was good and we ordered quickly from a menu scannable QR code - it wasn't busy for Monday 1pm lunch. Food came, fried okra appetizer was ok, friend got a shrimp quesadilla - which she finished. I ordered 2 shrimp tacos $5/each (small portion, super basic) which tasted good, came with a choice of side and I choose fresh broccoli instead of fries or mashed potatoes. I also ordered a coke, which server did refill without asking. Unfortunately, the broccoli was an olive green-brown, looked dry and tasted dry and RANCID. I stopped eating it and wasn't going to say anything, but my friend tasted it and said it was rotten/not fresh. We both let the server know, who was like "Oh? Let me check", then proceeded to take the dish back and back with our bills. NO apology or discounting the item or removing it. The moment I stepped inside, I could tell the establishment didn't seem like a good choice. Upon entering, server mentioned they were low on a lot of ingredients and needed to go to the store. Can not recommend this place or its employees any higher. We showed up on a Monday (before thanksgiving) with 7 adults and 8 kids. The place was empty and I'm sure they thought they had a slow night coming. The bartender who was the only server was incredibly gracious and patient with our kids, and the only cook served up the food hot and fresh. Family friendly to say the least. If you eat here, you will be super pleasantly surprised! The Corner Pub looks like an assuming neighborhood bar, neither high scale nor dive, but is a treasure of delicious & affordable eats! I had the Torta off the "dunch" menu (lunch/dinner...but also brunch items...genius) and it was basically a retried bean/egg sandwich? With breakfast potatoes? So good. The fried okra was FIRE, as was the house hot sauce (not currently for sale). Sometimes an avocado toast plate can seem like a rip off but theirs is $9 and comes with eggs aka a real meal! Still a fan! They initially closed completely when the "great shutdown" started, and reopened slowly with a limited menu and take out only. We had become big fans of Enya and Stephen & owner Josh and his charming father. We miss the warmth and friendliness of the bar, though I would say CP, like most Decatur area places, is extra cautious on distancing tables, even outdoors. The hand sanitizer at the outdoor tables was a nice touch. I appreciate the QR-code menu access as well. The menu is fully back for takeout, including their house cocktails & other adult beverages. We try to takeout from there at least twice a month (we really stopped going out when COVID cases kept rising and rising) these days. Still a pleasure to see Enya and Stephen - we got takeout last night. Hubs got the Rye cocktail, which he declared perfectly made (after we got home), and his usual fish tacos with Pop's Salad on the side. (CP has consistently good salads - very fresh and nicely put together.) I got the salmon cake with the pop salad side. It was very tasty, moist with a little crispness on the outside. People, in this time, you need to go nuts with the tipping. 50%! If you eat out about 75% less than the before-times, share some of that savings with your servers, INCLUDING TAKE OUT! They are considered essential workers and they bring a little variety and self-care to our lives, let them know you appreciate them and want them to survive this thing with very generous TIPPING. My first spot after landing in Atlanta! After landing in Atlanta, my friends took me here, and I wasn't disappointed in the least. It's decent sized bar with plenty of seating. High tops, regular tables and a place to sit at the bar. It also appeared that there was outside seating. We chose to sit at a regular table. It wasn't too crowded on a Friday night, so we were able to sit right away. Our waiter came over to us basically instantly, handed us beer menus and food menus, and our night had begun. The beer offerings were just okay. No Blue Moon or Shocktop. I went with a Yuengling, as did my friend. My other friend got some type of stout, (I forgot which one), and my other friend went with black coffee as he was the designated driver. My friend that got the stout couldn't decide between two different stouts, so the waiter brought two small samples out for her to try. On to food... Lots of offerings on the menu here. There is something for everyone! We started off with nachos. Chips, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, sour cream and black beans. While it was tasty, it could have used more cheese. For my meal I had the ABCLT sandwich. It had green apples, bacon, cheddar, lettuce and tomato. I got it on toasted sourdough bread. This sandwich was delicious and made for great drunk food later on in the night. The apples gave it a nice crunch. It came with fries (or another choice of side) fries were basic, but good. My friends ordered Munster grilled cheese, salmon huger and Cajun hushpuppies. Everything was enjoyed. Coming from NY I expected my part of the bill to be high. But for my beer and sandwich it was only $13.78 including tax! I was charged $0.50 for ranch, but no complaints here! Service was great. Our waiter kept coming back to make sure we were food or if we needed anything. He also kindly split our bill 4 ways. Atmosphere is nice. The corner pub is the sweetest little neighborhood bar. The interior is just fun and warm while also being relaxed and chill. In the back there is a little area with old arcade games and such. The food is great they have huge sandwiches that we have ordered off Uber eats before and this time we tried the nachos with jerk chicken that our server recommended. So good, unique, and filling. They also have a great selection of beers and cocktails. Basically anything you want they have. Not to mention it's a great place to catch a game. Plenty of big tv's. I enjoyed this pub! Came in with a larger group and we were well tended to. A great selection of drafts and alcohol- I was thrilled they had Athena. The food was really good too. I would've liked to see some seasoning on the fries, but that's nitpicky. The little mushroom slider was delicious. It was surprisingly empty for a Friday evening but that worked well in our favor. A decent local place. Unfortunately on our last visit the kitchen did not read the servers notes and made my order in way that I could not eat. By the time the bartender/ server noticed & offered to have it remade I was ready to leave. My bigger issue is the apparent lack of hand washing by bartender/server after coming inside after a smoke break. I've observed this on 2 different occasions. It's a pity, because she remembers her drink orders, and is personable. A little bit of training by management would go a long way. The menu choices are decent. Wish kitchen staff would keep grumbling about work to quiet talk and not in a manner that customers can hear. We like Corner Pub, but one more visit like this and that would be my last. read more

Brunch! So I arrived here with a bunch of friends and we were pleasantly surprised that they had a brunch. The whole table got mimosas, its brunch so you have to! The mimosas were actually really great, when you can taste the alcohol in the drink but also still taste a hint of orange juice then you know its a good drink. There weren't many people in the bar in the middle of the afternoon which was nice. I got the Torta, vegetarian friendly. A sandwich with grits was a new combination for me and I can honestly say that i don't think that the combination is necessarily for me. Individually the two dishes were pretty good but I wasn't a fan of mixing them. From what my friends said: The shrimp and grits were okay. Yesterday I was at a nearby salon and they order from here. The food came and smell good. So I decided to place an order. I had a uber coupon for $15 off $20. But I didn't see what I wanted on the menu on the uber eat app. I called and was order over the phone. Before I could finish asking questions I was given an total and hung up. I asked the cashier about it but she said they short staff and was busy so the server or whomever was taking the call didn't know. No excuse. But whatever. The shrimp queadilla only had 6 or 7 shrimp on it. The definitely not worth the price and not filling at all. Save your money and calories count. read more

Nice long bar - well laid out with comfortable seats. Other seating in the restaurant seems good, too. They do have a few outside tables. Draft beer: Although not nearly as extensive as other Decatur pubs, their selection is more than adequate and features good local craft beers (there are three breweries within spittin' distance of the pub). Solid pub menu: Chicken slider is pretty tasty. Steak tacos also solid. Korean tacos (a special) are excellent. Tacos are not small here, so two are a meal. Arugula salad with salmon croquette is very good, especially the croquette. Like most bars, it's loud on a Saturday but mostly from the customers - not obnoxious loud music. Weekdays are much more subdued. Service at the bar is good although once my beer glass sat empty for ten minutes before I flagged someone. Next visit had no issues. People are friendly. This is a good neighborhood bar with a comfortable vibe. Recommended. read more

I dined at this establishment recently with a group of friends after a volunteer outing. It wasn't too crowded and we were given a choice on where to sit. The staff was very friendly. Our waitress was very attentive without being overbearing. I ordered the BBQ Sandwich and it was delicious. Their fries were spot-on too. One of my pet peeves is going to a restaurant and they have skinny fries that you have to eventually eat with a fork. Not this place! I highly recommend The Corner Pub! read more

They offer lots of options and we opted for what seemed that most Yelpers raved about. The Jerk Chicken Philly has lots of rosemary spices, pineapple tomato and chicken. I loved it. I got it with jalapeno corn bread that was so dry and not good at all. The Philly made up for the bad bread so I was fine. Also got the Cuban-this was decent. Ordered a salad and French dip for takeout. The salad was ok. The French dip however was absolutely inedible. ( I've had one there before and it was great which is why I ordered it again.) I got there just as the food was coming out of the kitchen. Two pieces of tough, chewy roast beef and some cheese on a stale bun. Fries were soggy and cold. It was so bad I went back to the pub with the sandwich to complain. The bartender/server was rude, belligerent, defensive and totally unwilling to acknowledge the unacceptable quality of the food. This place used to be so good. DON'T BOTHER going there to eat. Totally and extremely disappointing. And the service was beyond awful. I would give it 0 stars if that was a choice. read more

I very rarely will post a negative review, but I was so very disappointed by the service at this place, that I hope the mgmt team takes notice. I placed an order for curbside pickup on a Sunday. I arrived within 20 mins and when I called to let them know, a lady on the phone told me it would be a few minutes as they were "busy". After about 10 minutes I decided to just go in and pick it up--no big deal(I just wasn't dressed my best). When I got to the bar, a lady with medium length dark brown hair, a black top and some tattoos greeted me. She checked on my order and said they were still cooking it. Again, no big deal, but then when I looked around I was surprised to see quite a few empty tables? It was not very busy at all... After about 10 minutes, the chef rang the bell to indicate an order was ready (spoiler alert, it ended up being mine). No one reacted. A few minutes later, the lady in the black top went to clear some dishes and when she went near the kitchen opening, the chef pointed to the food and then pointed to me, indicating my order was ready. She kind of shrugged her shoulders and continued milling about with the empty dishes. When a new set of entrees arrived and were ready to go, she grabbed the newer dishes to take them out. The chef again signalled to her that my order was ready. She ignored him and took the plates out. She eventually came back. Bagged my food and handed it to me. In what should have been an easy dinner pickup, easily took about 30-40 mins. I am pretty patient but what was very hurtful was that despite repeated reminders that my meal was ready, and the fact that I was the only person with a pickup order, it seemed like the lady in the black top was purposely trying to delay my meal pickup. Also, she was the person on the phone when I called, so if the meal originally was not ready, why didn't she say something? All in all, the food was quite good. It's too bad it's being served by ppl with such toxic behaviors. read more

We gave it many tries to see if they were going through growing pains, but it just seems like they set their standards low. The prior owner was always there. The current one, i have yet to meet. I came with some friends on a Friday night at 11pm and was told they were closed because they didn't have enough customers to stay open late. Brought a Local Flavor Coupon for the Corner Pub. A friend and I went on 18June2022. The corner pub has delicious food, Strong Cocktails, and the Bartender/Hostess is such a friendly, kind lady, she does it all without skipping a beat. The atmosphere is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. The hostess greeted us upon our entry, smiling and welcoming us. She was behind the bar and came over and took our orders, recommending food and drinks. Once we had ordered, she went behind bar and made our cocktails lol. I asked "you're the bartender too". She laughed and said "yes-I'm a Jill of all trades"!. She is soo personable and friendly. I made sure to tell her that she gets 5 stars on friendliness, strong delicious cocktails, and delicious food! I further told her that I will be coming back without a Groupon or Local Flavor coupon. Stopped by recently for lunch and was pleased with the service I received. With only a few tables occupied, the bartender was friendly and attentive. I selected the Salmon BLT for my lunch. It was fresh, seasoned extremely well and visually appealing. It takes two hands to hold this sandwich! I highly recommend this unique combination! I'm a saucy gal but didn't miss it at all here. $9 Steak taco was tender and juicy cooked medium just like requested. Had some caramelized veggies and was nice and full. A winner but I wish the tortilla was toasted a bit.4.50 Jerked chicken sandwich: even though this was my least favorite of the night it was still good. I felt like the pineapple made it too sweet, it would be a little more balanced is there was a spicy element. $10 Fried okra: good rendition, loved it. They make home made ice creams and there were 3 when I went: strawberry basil, PB snickers and quinoa.. something. We got the PB snickers and it was so good, huge portion, with giant chunks of goodies for $4. With our scoutmob we got a TON of food for only 22$!!! Score! We will be back! I visited this place after a show at the Academy Theatre. I was expecting bar food and beer. I found much better than that, starting with the very attentive service. Staff was very friendly and took really good care of us. Our waitress made some suggestions I was only too happy to try: The Chicken Slider rocked my socks off. A modest-sized piece of pan-fried chicken on a bun with some dressings that include a healthy dose of Sriracha. (And yes, she did ask if I was cool with the Sriracha. I said "Bring it ON!" Sriracha always packs the right heat.) That slider was delicious. But it was indeed a slider. And I was still hungry 20 min after eating it, so I took the next suggestion to try the Steak Taco. This thing was an exercise in meaty indulgence. Chock full of steak and veggies and other good taco ingredients. Messy, but worth it.
