It is a pub, so there's lively music and billiard games happening in the back. Parking is limited so we parked at a nearby lot. The bathrooms were decent, but my stall definitely needed attention. Now, the star of the show was absolutely the smoked wings. We ordered 20 mild mixed with garlic and 10 mild mixed with lime pepper. Those are probably some of the best smoked wings I've ever had. Flavorful, and the blue cheese was made in house. We also ordered the blue cheese fries and those were amazing as well. The food came out relatively quick and our server was so attentive! Stopped by Twain's before heading to my birthday dinner. Me and some friends grabbed a drink at the bar, and made our way to the back of the bar. To our surprise, there were a few dart boards and a few pool tables in the back. We ended up just hanging and talking instead of playing, because we weren't here for too long. Twain's is a pretty big place. They have a full bar, a bunch of booths, pool tables, arcade games, dart boards, and so much more. They have food as well, which looked pretty good when I looked at the menu. It's your typical type of bar food, so nothing too too special. I don't know if I would come back willingly, but if I needed a sports bar type of vibe in DT Decatur, then this would be my go-to. read more

This place is fun to visit with a group of friends; mostly because you can have fun and play pool while grabbing drinks. Tables are big enough ando also there's some shared spots right next to the pool tables. It's casual and relaxed, decent variety of food and drinks. My experience with the service was good, they answered a few questions about the beers and it didn't take that long to get our order ready. In terms of food, I think it's ok, nothing that really surprised me; I got a burger and it tasted good. My only complaint is about the fries, they taste like they been cooked hours ago and just been reheated at the moment. Since we started eating vegetarian, pub food usually means making significant compromises, creating a meal out of sides and/or appetizers or crossing our fingers when we order the salad. A hardcore carnivore would be happy with this: I feel confident that easily half of the people who order it are not vegetarian or vegan. If not more. So came here on a Thursday. I must say if a week day come after 5 pm they have a full menu. Before that's it's a limited one with very few choices. We settled on chicken tenders , shared a large fry and wings. It's a large rustic place older building but man the food was very yummy ! The chicken tenders were huge !!!!! Came here as I had plans to go somewhere else nearby that turned out to be closed. They were hosting a large party so we weren't able to play pool but we could play darts instead. The staff were nice while having to cover the bar and check in on the large group. I didn't get to see much of the establishment since the darts were near the front but it seemed pretty large. I tried their rhubarbie drink, hummus plate and pretzels. As a fan of gin, I liked my drink which was slightly tart thanks to the rhubarb. The pretzels was soft served with a side of cheese and mustard. I enjoyed the sides with the hummus including carrots, cucumbers, olives and warmed pita wedges. The food here is good. I prefer the smoked wings though they flash fry them it might be cool just to have smoked only and fried only for the option. Attended Super Saturday for the Atlanta-Decatur Darts Association (ADDA) at Twains and was blown away by the atmosphere and enjoyment of their newly refurbished darts space. Twains now has six boards, professionally spaced, and with lighting that was installed by the best gaffer in the Atlanta media scene. The staff was READY for this event and kept the beer and grub flowing all day and deep into the night. I have been here so many times and usually, everything is really good. The fries are probably my favorite thing to eat and they give such a large portion of fries with the food. I have had the chicken burger, black bean burger, wings, fish and chips, and chicken tenders and all of those are really good. They have recently changed their menu and have some new menu items so I decided to try one and honestly, I wasn't impressed. It was the pork belly banh mi and it just wasn't good. It was very dry and there wasn't very much pork and what was on it was just too fatty. It just wasn't very good and knowing that there are so many other good items, I wouldn't get it again. I don't even see it on the menu anymore which I'm not surprised about. I would say stick to the classics because those are done really well and definitely get the fries. read more

Ugh, customer service is so essential, and Twain's was lacking when I went to pick up an order on a Sunday afternoon. My mom and I were picking up food for a Super Bowl party and ordered some wings from Twain's. A note about their online ordering system - be careful when checking out. They automatically default to a 20% tip on a pickup order. I'm glad we caught that before placing the order and were able to adjust it. Mom gave a $5 tip, which was too much given our treatment. Ok, back to the pickup experience. We walked in, and the sign said to seat yourself. There wasn't anyone around at the front, so we wandered over to the bar. There was a lady behind the bar taking orders from customers seated next to us. We didn't sit; we stood, and I assumed she would at least acknowledge us and let us know that she or someone would be with us shortly. My assumptions were incorrect. She and others behind the bar completely ignored us. That left a bad taste before even trying the food. After standing at the bar and looking around, we saw a guy walking out with what looked like to-go bags. He walked to the front and placed them on a table. We followed him and asked if those were to-go items, and he said yes. We grabbed our food and left. Now, I can be a stickler for customer service, but my mom is much more lax. So I held my cool, but when we got back to the car, and mom said it's been a minute since she felt invisible, I knew I wasn't overreacting. We had other things to pick up, so I decided to call and give feedback to the manager on duty. On the call, Reed identified himself as the manager. I explained the situation and our experience and encouraged some retraining for the staff so everyone who visits Twain's feels comfortable in the future. His response was meh. Oh the food, wings are on the smaller size but had a nice smoked flavor. The ranch sauce was good and more flavorful than typical ranch. 2 stars for that. read more

The same for the wings. We ordered the jerk flavor. There are not too many places I would rave about their wings, so this fell into the "not" enough to rave about. There are plenty of pool tables, darts, and shuffle board to keep you occupied while you wait for food or just to hangout. The place is pretty big on the inside and for the amount of people that were there on a Friday night it didn't feel cramped. Everyone at our table loved their food. Party of 2 for dinner I have passed this place for years driving in and around the Decatur area. We finally decided to stop by for dinner. They have a small parking lot in front and a few additional spaces in another lot down the block. We were lucky to find an open space in the front. There is also close by street parking. We entered the restaurant and were told to please seat ourselves. The place is much bigger than I expected with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and a server came by pretty quickly. They have a nice selection of their own craft beers on draft. I ordered their Hazy IPA called Uniquely Similar and wifey ordered the Halley's Helles Gold Lager. They arrived quickly and tasted good, but they could have been a little colder. Let's move on to the food. I ordered the South by Southwest Chicken Sandwich and fries and wifey ordered the Honey Garlic wings and Sweet Potato chips. My chicken sandwich had a great crunch, but needed more flavor, it was kind of "One Note". The description had me excited, but those flavors were not consistent with every bite. Wifey enjoyed her wings, but the Sweet Potato "chips" were not crunchy at all. This place has alot of nooks and crannies with TVs and games everywhere to keep you busy. If you're looking for a late night spot to grab some grub or to catch a sports game or even play some billiards, then Twains Brewing in and Billiards is the place for you. I came here Sunday evening around 8pm. It's a self seated place so whether you want to sit at the bar or tables all around, the choice is yours. The vibe here is really dope. I really liked how the banners of different sports teams were hanging up near the billiards tables and I also loved how spacious it was around the place. Most of the games require you to pay and to play pool is $5 per person per hour. Like most places you can look at the menu via a QR code. I was so hungry that I ordered 10 Hot Honey Wings ($10) as well as the Goldie Burger with fries ($15). The Goldie Burger comes with Riverview farms egg, caramelized onion bacon, cheddar, red onion, red leaf lettuce, BBQ aioli and it's on a sesame bun. It didn't take long for the food to come out and everything was hot and delicious. The combination of the spicy and honey sauce together on the wings is phenomenal and the burger was very delicious. The BBQ aioli really brought the flavor out of the burger and when you factor in the cheddar, onions as well as the egg, it's really good. This is a place I can get use to coming to to watch a few games and play some games of billiards so I'll definitely be back. read more

It's been a while since I've hung out in Decatur so when one of my Meetup groups decided to meet here before we all headed to the movies, I was totally down. Especially since this place makes its own beer and me being a huge local beer fan. When I walked in, I was expecting a old, agey bar with lots of history which I'm sure it has but this place is totally modern from the outside and in. And It's pretty big compared to all the pics I've seen. The dining experience was decent. The food came out fairly quickly and our waitress was attentive. They offer samples on their beers so I tried the Passionate Hearts flavor. It was okay. I took the recommendation of our waitress and ordered the Break The Wheel since they don't do samples. That beer was also just okay. I felt a bit rushed and since we were seated at a table, I felt like I had to make a decision asap so it's best to get your samples from the bar. I'd assume the beer pourers can assist more with what you'd like and you can talk your time deciding. Since I'm on a plant based diet, my options are limited but was glad to see them offering entrees for me! I ordered the sweet potato burger with vegan cheese and onion rings instead of fries. Ive never had a sweet potato burger which I thought was different so wanted to give it a try. Final verdict? They have to go back to the drawing board on that. It didn't taste great. Not even good. Unfortunately I packed it up to go so I didn't taste it until after I left the restaurant but yeah that burger is a no. Extremely COVID compliant. They are seating like every three tables. We are from out of town and it was probably the first place we saw taking it as seriously as out by us in NY/NJ. Regardless we tried a bunch of the beers and they were delicious. Their stouts and triples were great! We came too late for snacks but also we just had dinner.
