WARNING WARING do not bring your fur babies I had a disappointing experience at this veterinary clinic. I did not plan to visit this location initially but groomer nicked my dog's paw, and my dog had an allergic reaction very badly to her chest to their products (my dog has never had previous allergies to anything) the groomer asked me to go get her examined and they would fully take care of the bill, Dr. Tran seemed unprofessional, particularly when discussing the bill, which was handled poorly. When the groomer clarified before arriving they would be covering the cost, I found it inappropriate for office staff to communicate anything to me about a bill. They did state my dog was nicked by the Clippers, and because it was "allergy season" they cannot specify if her chest irritation was from the products which it clearly was ,my dog was perfect before the Groomers her chest was flaming red after the Groomers. (New groomers , new products). Dr. Tran wanted me to pay 50% of the bill when I was only there because the groomer asked me to go and get my dog looked at and stated multiple times they would be covering all cost. Dr. Tran really tried to convince me that because they couldn't specify where her chest reaction came from (20 min after leaving groomer her reaction to her chest) I needed to pay 50% of the bill even though my dogs paw was clipped by the groomer. VERY UNNECESSARY CONVERSATION. I asked Tran if she had this conversation with the groomer yet , she said no. I said why are you talking to me about money before telling him your thoughts? He wanted me to come here and he was fully covering the bill, no matter what. During the examination, Dr. Tran was going to send us home with only medication for itching. While waiting for her to return to the room, I noticed my dog's leg was trembling and appeared to be in a lot of pain. I requested the doctor take a look at my dog's leg. Dr. Tran did not return to examine her further. Priscilla, who is not a veterinarian, acknowledged my concern and later provided pain medication for my dog. Unfortunately, my dog was not properly cared for during this visit. I had to bring her pain to their attention a second time, as she was clearly in distress. It appeared that Dr. Tran did not observe or address her discomfort directly. Despite noticing the trembling, she did not come back into the room to examine her leg herself, instead relying on the office manager to administer medication. Additionally, I felt that Dr. Tran was uncomfortable with me mentioning that another person was handling the payment. Which was discussed before the appointment. The clinic was paid, yet my dog's condition was not adequately assessed or addressed after the initial examination. Overall, I found the service to be unprofessional and lacking in compassion. If you truly care about your pets' well-being, I would recommend seeking care elsewhere. read more

I brought my 10-week-old kitten into The Corner Vet to get a second opinion about the kitten's "cherry eye." Another vet had told me that it was herpes and prescribed eye drops for herpes, but I had not yet obtained the prescription due to a series of errors. Dr. Tran said it was herpes and I said it looked like "cherry eye" because I had done research online. She agreed it was cherry eye and said it could be caused by herpes, which most cats have. I asked if we should get a herpes test and she said no. She then said I should start the kitten on eye drops for the herpes and said she could sell me the drops. Her assistant said the drops were $30.00 but they charged me $50.00 for the drops. I returned to the first vet to follow up to review all the errors with the prior visit and the vet informed me that Dr. Tran sold me a medication for bacterial infections, not herpes. Dr. Tran led me to believe I was buying herpes medication. The other vet (confirmed by yet a third vet later) wrote that Dr. Tran had "treated a virus with an antibiotic," which is obviously ineffective. Both other vets (at different offices) told me to stop using the eye drops Dr. Tran sold me. I have to wonder if she just sold me whatever she had on her shelf, considering it was not the medication for herpes that I thought I was buying. I returned the (barely used) eye drops to Dr. Tran's office with a letter requesting a refund because she sold me a product that was useless to me (it subjected my kitten to unnecessary medicine also). She never responded and she kept the money. This seems desperate or greedy to me. It's unprofessional at best and seems dishonest. Dr. Tran said other things that could have harmed my kitten much worse. I asked how to correct "cherry eye," and she said it often cannot be corrected, but that it is merely cosmetic and not to worry about it. I expressed concern about an inner eyelid being exposed to the air all the time and she responded that there is little or no risk (it's just "cosmetic") and that there was no need to do anything further. I asked about the surgery to turn the eyelid back to where it should be (I read about it online) and said the surgery works only 60% of the time, or something like that - she said she did not do the surgery and seemed to want to steer me away from the surgery treatment option (which is the proper treatment, based on all of my research). My kitten's left eye had a huge red bulge in the inner corner and it looked awful and uncomfortable for her, possibly blocking her full vision. The kitten is gorgeous, with baby blue very bright eyes and beautiful light Siamese coloring, with 4 white feet (boots). It seemed wrong to do nothing further to try to help her. I called an animal eye specialist at a reputable clinic, and he surgically corrected her eye in an instant, right there on the spot. Dr. Tran gave horrible advice and apparently sold me inappropriate medication for profit. She also made an odd comment about how some of the animals she treats are "famous" or words to that effect, which was of no import to me and did not follow from anything else that was said. Before I would've given the Corner vet five stars, because I like the vet, and the staff are kind and professional. However, today after taking my cat to be shaved because of mats my opinion has shifted to three stars. Why the shift? I was very disappointed when I came to pick her up. I've had my cat shave before by a vet and she came home looking like she had been groomed. Today when I picked her up, her coat looked chopped and she was not bathed. I've had really positive experiences at this vet. I went a few years ago for a teeth cleaning, which went very well. I took another cat for an update on her rabies a week ago, and they were so accommodating with scheduling. Yesterday I had an emergency with a kitten I thought was fading, and they let me bring her in immediately. Dr. Tran and her staff were amazing. They gave me advice on getting her to eat and stabilizing her blood sugar. They saved me money by suggesting that I add pedialyte to her food instead of giving fluids. The kitten has perked up today. It made me really feel confident in this practice when they called to check on her this morning. This is a good place to bring your pet. read more

This vet clinic is 10/10 highly recommended for anyone with a dog or cat any shape and size. They are taking great COVID 19 precautions such as coming to your vehicle to pick up your pet. This was my first visit here and I had plenty of questions about my senior baby girl. The staff was great and answered all my questions including payment options. What I appreciated the most is how they helped create a health plan for my dog. I felt the overwhelmed because my pet had been behind on her vaccinations and needed dental work as well. Service resembles a back-alley drug deal ... the dog's owner is not permitted into the facility (door is locked), but must transact the procedure from his/her vehicle. Upon arrival, a phone call to the place is necessary to begin the process. A tech then comes out with appropriate paperwork (including an estimated bill ... more below), takes the dog ... and customers wait in their car for an update (again, by phone). The vet calls with results, the tech then calls with the amount due, asks for a credit card number (once more, over the phone), then delivers the pet to its owner. As for pricing, what they do is bill you for a "special" deal which includes several unnecessary treatments. Once you decline an item (e.g. a rabies shot ... my dog is protected for another two years), all services become ala carte, so the "special" is gone. Further, items that should be included (e.g. anal gland express, nail trim, etc.) are not part of the package, adding about $30 more. I've paid less for a more comprehensive visit elsewhere, and was able to converse with staff in person. We'll be seeking another vet from this point on. read more

I'm sad to say that after my year membership is up I will probably be looking for another vet. Their "membership" is a pretty good deal it's a one time ~$130 something per year charge that makes all of your doctors visits free. A doctor's visit is typically $50 so three visits will pay for itself. When you have a puppy needing vaccinations this is pretty helpful. Although the staff is as nice, friendly, and helpful as can be, it is impossible to get a same day appointment which forces your hand to go to an emergency clinic or wait til the next day. My dog had kennel cough beginning on a Friday night and I called first thing Saturday morning and was told tux couldn't be seen and recommending that I go to the emergency vet. I ended up taking him to a close by vet that takes walk ins and had to pay $160 for the visit and medications. Well it's happening again, but luckily it's not as severe. I took the day off from work on a Monday riding on the hope that I could call first thing for a same day and to no avail tux can't be seen until the next day at noon meaning I will miss work again. Frustrating Another annoying thing is that I paid for the membership but somehow it never shows that in their system and I always have to remind them so they have to re do the invoice. This is down my street, I scheduled an appointment online and within 24 hours someone reached out. I got an appointment scheduled within an hour of that phone call. Super quick and easy process. I've been going to this Corner Vet since they opened in 2015, and their staff and vets are well qualified and sincere. The reason I'm writing this review is because sadly, in the past few years, their prices have gone significantly up. They also just sent out a email about a further price increase today. We initially started going to them because they were the affordable vet around Houston such as SNAP and petcare express, however, that is not the case anymore. I admired them for being affordable in their location with the Bellaire neighborhood being down the street, and I'm saddened that this is not the case anymore. They do deserve the five stars for being phenomenal individuals, but for pet owners who need affordable care, I recommend to look elsewhere. read more

It's been more than a year since my last review. Life has not been easy, but I have hopes of getting out and about more at last and not just going to work every day. One business I've had experience with is the Meyerland location of The Corner Vet.... My three felines needed their nails trimmed and some shots and so, in early April, I chased the girls around the apartment and tossed them in their carriers for the journey. The Corner Vet, a low cost basic vet, offered a cheaper way for me to get needed things done. The Metro 4 & 49 buses go right past the location and are easily connected to at various Transit Centers and major intersections across the parts of Houston they traverse. The Corner Vet is a nothing fancy vet that sets up shop in a space suitable for several rooms and their equipment, medicine, and products for sale. There are 4 locations in the Houston area and others in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. They offer full health and wellness services - they call it Essential Care, at cheaper prices and do so with licensed vets and trained techs. They also offer various topical parasite treatments to take home. They are a walk-in wellness clinic for cats and dogs. So there's no need for appointments and we didn't wait all that long and our entire visit lasted about an hour. The Corner Vet website has all the info you need about the services offered and how to contact a location to get the costs; they have a very good resource page covering 9 topics, and an occasional blog post, on a simple blog that is an interesting read (cat people will like recent posts about catnip and the best gifts for cat lovers). They are on Twitter and Facebook and also offer an online shopping experience via Vets First Choice. The vet and techs we dealt with at the Bellaire location were very nice and professional and the girls had no problem being handled by them. I have a regular vet, but they are more expensive so, with my Care Credit card maxed out, I had to find a way to get some needed things done and will use them again, if needed. The staff and docs are great and I am happy my fur-babies are in good hands when they are here. I understand going to the vet can be expensive and in the past I felt over charged at other vet clinics. The Corner Vet has rates that are fair and affordable and you still get great customer service and care at that great price. The clinic is always clean and smells nice. The precautions they are taking during the pandemic are appropriate and I appreciate them for putting everyone's safety first. When we got there at 6:17 pm we were told last patient is at 6pm. Well then, change your hours to 6pm. Have you ever been to the grocery store at 9pm and they said no our last person to come in is at 8 pm? Or a doctor's office and they close at 5 and they tell you, come 1 hour ahead of 5 pm? This place is a blessing to all the dogs and cats in the area and their owners. They provide friendly and affordable healthcare for pets in a no threatening environment. I've been here a handful of times now and feel as though I have a good understanding of their overall care. I have always been made to feel welcome and comfortable and have never felt the pressure to opt into any pricey treatments or services. I had always felt apprehensive about visiting the vet and the bill that would follow although I always went through with it because I know it's important for my pets, but now I can enjoy both providing my pets with the quality healthcare they need without the hefty expense that follows. I called the Bellaire location on accident and that girl Kathy that answered the phone was so patient and thorough. I started taking my dog here when office visits were $9. The wait was terribly long since they didn't take appointments. Now the office visits are $29. They take appointments but still allow walk ins. My dog got the dog pack which included all necessary shots and tests. We waited no more than 10 minutes past our appointment time. With the dog pack plus $29 office visit, the price was on the low side compared to other vets in the area. I bought Heartgard from them and they price matched from online sellers. Sarah, our vet tech, also mailed me a rebate form and receipt of my Heartgard purchase a day after our visit saving me another $12. read more

You get what you pay for. We called in whenever they opened and asked when a good time would be to take our dog in. She had been coughing and a bit stuffy, so we were wondering if maybe it was allergies or something worse. They said they had an opening at 4PM. Well, 4PM rolls around, and they take us into a room to wait for the vet. 30 minutes pass, and a vet tech comes in to see us, ask us a few questions, and let us know the vet will be with us shortly. More waiting. 30 more minutes pass, and the vet finally sees us. She makes her grand entrance by literally rolling into the room on a chair! We expressed our concerns and thoughts as to whether or not it might be allergies or possibly an upper respiratory infection of some sort. She then started to blame our dog's cough and throat irritation on us pulling on her collar. We let the vet know that it's not something we do often. We usually use a gentle leader, but because we thought we'd be in and out, we decided to go with just her leash. Neither of us thought we'd be there for over an hour! Also, I'd like to note that we have a 70 pound GSD. I'm 5'0". Trust me, I couldn't hurt my dog even if I wanted to. The vet then rubbed her throat, told us she thinks it might be an infection, prescribed us a bunch of medication, and sent us on our merry way. I'm surprised by this, because I know the Meyerland vets are very thorough and spend more than a few seconds rubbing our dog's throat before deciding on a verdict. It breaks down to this: While I liked the vet tech and the front desk staff, the vet herself was very unprofessional and didn't really seem to care about our dog's well-being or even the time she made us waste waiting for her. We were just another number on her to-do list, and she wanted to get us in and out as soon as possible. I've never felt so uncomfortable and genuinely angered by any sort of experience such as this before. The exam cost $39, and the Meyerland Animal Clinic charges just a bit more for an office visit. We went here thinking we'd save money, but we ended up with a $240 bill due to three (yes, THREE), different medications prescribed. We still don't even know what's wrong with our dog! I'm honestly sitting here wondering if we should go back to Meyerland Animal Clinic and get a second opinion. Though we wanted to save some money, our dog's health is our main concern, and that's something I don't think the vet truly cared about. read more

Was able to make an appointment for the next morning and did the puppy package. BUT you guys, this place is for WELLNESS. If pup is vomiting and pooping its brains out at night you can't go here. This vet comes in handy if you are on a budget more than fair pricing, great for new those who have new puppies or kittens. Pricing on flea medications and heartworm medications is meh a little pricy I've gone twice to their location and the service has been decent and everyone is friendly. They are open until 7pm but you need to be there by 6pm this is because your appointment can take at least 30-45 minutes. I have no major complaints or red flags I will continue to visit here for basic care for both of my pets. read more

The staff here is very friendly. You can really tell that they are animal lovers. I recently came here for our dogs annual check up and shots. The prices are very reasonable. This facility is equivalent to a walk-in clinic for people. They are able to do vaccines, prescribe flea/tic/heart-worm medicines, run some basic tests and other general care. This is not he place to come to if your pet is very ill or you need an emergency vet visit. They are happy to refer you to nearby facilities if they are unable to accommodate. They also send a ton of reminders (email, text, phone) if you're overdue on shots or flea and tick prevention. Appointments can be made online or over the phone. I like quick and this place gets you in and out. Our technician asked if we would like our dogs shots/tests to be done in the back area. This was greatly appreciated since its hard to watch for some people. On another note, they will not try to up-sell or convince you to purchase any unneeded procedures or products like many other facilities. I was able to get my dogs trifexus for 6 months. read more

If you are looking for kind, compassionate and knowledgeable folks to care for your fur babies, step away. The front desk staff that I imagine do not have a vet's degree, make determinations if in fact they can assist your pet's ailment. Then get ugly if you question their "findings". If in a hurry, even without folks in the lobby waiting to be seen, snails pace is their constant mode of operation. Nickel and dime on all kinds of fees especially unforeseen lab charges and extra medications that are NOT needed. I would not recommend this clinic at all. About a week ago, stopped to pick up supplies to collect a urine specimen. Receptionist tried to just give me a jar. I requested a tray and syringe as the dog is very small and I felt I would have difficulty with just a jar. The receptionist was very snippy but did give it to me. Unfortunately, I forgot this location is closed on Thursday. I needed to recollect the specimen. I stopped by yesterday to get another container. The same receptionist was there. She gave me a small pill sized bottle. I was in a hurry so I said nothing. This AM, I realized the bottle she gave me was for stool specimen collection, i.e., not sterile. I am quite sure my dog has a UTI and I cannot use the container. I will be taking my dog to another vet this afternoon. This is not quality care. read more
