We recently spent 5 nights in the Pancho Villa Room at Seven-Up Guest Ranch. When we arrived, we…read morewere greeted by the Innkeeper, Janet and by Oscar, the owner's friendly Australian Shepherd (the ranch mascot IMO). Janet had some fresh baked cookies and some lemon rosemary infused water ready for us at check-in. Janet was a welcoming hostess, both friendly and accommodating. She called to arrange a last minute reservation for us at a local restaurant the Friday evening of our arrival (a busy evening in the area), demonstrating what a close-knit, community the Fairplay/Somerset area is. She gave us some good tips on the local wineries, as well. The room was quiet and comfortable (comfy Cal King bed). The cabins have the creature comforts conveniences of home (a/c, mini-fridge, coffee maker) but are secluded on the rolling, tree lined hills. We enjoyed being mostly disconnected from the internet (Verizon LTE service was good but we limited our use). We relaxed, enjoying the scenery, hiking around the 146 acre property, wine tasting and enjoying the area attractions (Kennedy Mine, Downtown Placerville, a day trip to Lake Tahoe). There are many things to see and do in the area, but relaxing and enjoying the outdoors was the biggest part of the attraction to Seven-Up. It was like being with nature (but with a cozy room). Each morning we had coffee on the front porch of the cabin, listening to the birds sing, and each evening we retreated there for a bottle of wine watching the sun fade behind the trees and mountains. We did not want to leave. If you are looking for a low-key, quiet escape, close to nature, look no further than Seven-Up Guest Ranch. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning to return next summer.

Janet is an amazing host. Beautiful, green, vibrant and warm. Come here!…read moreThe local wineries produce some delicious reds as well.

From the linens to the décor, super luxurious accommodations set amongst acres of vineyards, each suite with it's own private deck overlooking Tuscany-style views in the heart of Amador wine country. Our host, Linda, made an incredible stay that much more homey. Each morning's breakfast was a feast, seated outside on the covered patio with stunning views. The meals were uber fresh (filling enough that we skipped lunch both days!). Every day around 5 you're treated to wine and cheese. Perfect location to wine taste on property or venture out to the growing number of top rated wineries. Walk amongst the vineyards or take out one the beach cruisers or trikes for a ride around. At night, the fire pits are a nice touch, or just lounge on you private deck for a sunset and a moonset. Looking forward to our return!

Perfectly Peaceful…read more My husband and I recently spent several days at GRI. From the first glimpse of this Tuscany-like villa, we knew we were in for an incredible experience. Our suite (one of five) was absolutely stunning. The Innkeeper (the first of three amazing Innkeepers) had the gas fireplace lit, and wonderful instrumental music playing, as she showed us our suite. The food was phenomenal: gourmet breakfasts, 5:00 wine and cheese, and homemade cookies in the evening. My favorite part was the patio with a fire pit overlooking the vineyard. It is difficult to find such peace and serenity anywhere. Aah... We anticipate return visits

Came across Eden Vale Inn when looking for a place to stay for a rafting trip with All-Outdoors on…read morethe American River. It's such a cute inn! We checked in after 6pm, so check in instructions were texted to us. Easy to follow. Was easy to find. We stopped at Wally's Pizza for dinner in Cameron Park based off their restaurant suggestions on their website and sent via text check in instructions. Great suggestion! The next mornings breakfast is texted the night before, offering some options like juice preference. And it's delivered around 9am the next morning. Since we had to be at rafting at 9 our first morning at the Inn, they delivered us fruit, scones, and juice early at 8:15am which was really nice. Breakfast was delicious, both mornings. And super fresh. We stayed in the Cypress room. Was as pictured online. Room was clean. The patio area is nice. We explored the grounds a bit our last morning and saw many places to sit around. We enjoyed some time up at the pond in the morning. The staff - I assume owners - were very friendly. We were very happy with our stay here and would return!

If you like swimming in moss and weeds then go for it. See photos attached. The second thing is they boast about having an outdoor kitchen. It is a kitchen without a freezer. I like ice cream when I vacation but no place to store. The facility is in Superb condition. The rooms are Stupendous, the one we had anyway. Very nice excellent air conditioning. The outdoor tub was outstanding. To top things off you can control everything from your normal switch plates/light switch. I would highly recommend this place but be Very Leary of the Pond that you should Not be swimming in. This review is from a 10 year Elite/Black badge. I sure hope this assists someone
