Our host, Linda, made an incredible stay that much more homey. Each morning's breakfast was a feast, seated outside on the covered patio with stunning views. The meals were uber fresh (filling enough that we skipped lunch both days!). Every day around 5 you're treated to wine and cheese. Perfect location to wine taste on property or venture out to the growing number of top rated wineries. Walk amongst the vineyards or take out one the beach cruisers or trikes for a ride around. At night, the fire pits are a nice touch, or just lounge on you private deck for a sunset and a moonset. Looking forward to our return!

Our suite (one of five) was absolutely stunning. The Innkeeper (the first of three amazing Innkeepers) had the gas fireplace lit, and wonderful instrumental music playing, as she showed us our suite. The food was phenomenal: gourmet breakfasts, 5:00 wine and cheese, and homemade cookies in the evening. My favorite part was the patio with a fire pit overlooking the vineyard. We reserved the Rio Vista suite along with the attached beach bungalow so each had our own rooms downstairs. The back slider opened onto a sandy beach area with gorgeous views and a pool. We took day trips to Grass Valley and Placerville and had an amazing time. Spent the last half of our last day there sitting outside, looking at the views and enjoying the sunshine. The owners are amazing... They delivered breakfast to our doors each morning and boy were they delicious. I am definitely bringing my husband back so that he can enjoy this place and the surrounding areas as much as I did.

While it's a bit of a distance to the actual venue, it was well worth it for the quiet, calm and very relaxing environment. Beautiful property and I wish I had time to use the pool outside. We stayed in the Bella Vista honeymoon suite. I loved it. It allowed my husband and I to talk. There's a calming and clarifying vibe to the room and the place in general. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again if I was in the area 100%. I think about this place from time to time. I actually miss it!

We ordered the Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich with lettuce, pickled onion, aioli, and herb fries. Delicious! The chicken was really tender and the aioli was on point. We also ordered a harvest salad that had beets and sweet potatoes. It was also really flavorful. We ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and the Cinsault Blend. Both were wonderful and even better since we were able to try these local wines.

The Imperial is a historic hotel with overnight rooms to rent and a dining room/bar. I came for dinner and am so glad I did. Although I made a reservation, it didn't seem necessary, but I would, just in case. The interior is so warm and cozy, and the historic elements make for a beautiful backdrop. We had a nice table for two against the brick wall that was intimate and yet connected to the ambiance of the room. Our server, a delightful woman, was friendly and professional. I started with a Pick Axe Freezer Martini with gin, and oh my gosh, it was a powerhouse of flavor and exuberance. It had a delightful wallop. It comes with a round cut glass side tray of things to add- olives, onion, etc. for one's individual taste. We had the bread service with warm, freshly made bread and a sun-dried tomato, basil, and garlic sauce for spreading or dipping. DELICIOUS! For the first course, I had a bowl of the clam chowder that was superb, creamy, delicate, and nicely mixed with bacon, carrots, croutons, etc, yet seemed devoid of clams. I won't hold it against them as the soup's consistency and taste were magnificent. There were two specials, a rack of lamb or a tuna poke bowl. I had heard that the scallops were very good, but they were substituting shrimp that day. I chose the lamb, and my dining partner had the poke bowl. Both were excellent. The lamb was fresh, nicely crusted, and cooked perfectly. The only criticism is a couple of times I tasted a small clump of salt, similar to Kosher salt. Since I use little salt in my own cooking, it really hits me when it's not well integrated into a dish and/or overpowering. Overall, the meal was excellent. It was relaxed, interesting, and an adventure into history, too. This place really has it down, and I highly recommend getting there for a very nice meal amongst the historical delights.

They checked out the next morning she came to the room offered to fumigate which was unacceptable because residing in a place immediately after fumigation is not recommended health-wise. She then proceeded to keep two nights stay and only refund the rest. This is not good customer service and is not acceptable. Not a place I would recommend for guests to stay in Placerville. There are many other options with higher standards of quality than this. Enjoy the picture of what was above their heads while they attempted to sleep all night.

Each baked good was very moist in the middle, yet slightly crunchy on the outside. It's worth staying here just for her baking. On top of that, the included breakfasts are beautiful, and she's made the best hollandaise sauce we've ever had. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite and didn't hear a peep from other guests, which is a real fete in some of these historic homes. The location is perfect, easily walkable to restaurants and shops. The food is unsurpassed, the rooms are beautifully appointed, the beds are comfortable, the grounds are lovely and the location is convenient. THE FOOD: The first morning you will be served the most delectable french toast of your life, along with scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. The second morning will likely be a spinach and egg quiche with graham cracker puff pancakes, apple cake and shoo-fly pie. Each breakfast begins with a parfait of fresh fruit, yogurt and granola. Accompanying each meal is also orange juice, grapefruit juice, coffee, tea, home-made oatmeal, and a long list of other thoughtful accouterments. Oh, and the best part...eating on the deck while you look out over the sweeping lawn and listen to the various water features and birds chirping. You sit there, immersed in the majestic pine forest that surrounds the house and think, IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! As an aside, the inn-keeper also baked us fresh cookies and left them out for us when we returned from our rafting trip. THE ROOMS: The rooms and the home are plush and beautifully appointed. Most have private baths, but if you are in a room that doesn't have its own shower, don't worry. There are plenty of washrooms throughout the house and you never have the feeling of being hemmed in or crowded by any other guests. I have stayed in both The Toad Abode and The Nest and both were outfitted with robes, slippers, ample towels, water bottles, chocolates, a hair dryer, shampoo,etc. The room you choose to stay in will determine whether you spend more time on the deck or in the interior of the home. Both are spectacular and by no means exclusive. However, some rooms open onto decks and others open to the inside of the home. Whichever you choose, you can't go wrong. THE GROUNDS: With over a hundred acres (with trails), a pond, a natural spring and towering pines, the grounds beckon to be explored. If you're not a natural-born hiker, the grounds can be enjoyed from the multiple levels of decking that "bedeck" the house. In the evenings, there is nothing more inviting than donning a swimsuit, robe and slippers and heading out to the hot tub for a dip. Grab a bottle of water or soda from the fully-stocked guest fridge and a homemade cookie and you're set. THE LOCATION: The B&B is about 15 minutes outside of town, but that is in no way a downside because of the privacy it affords. Honestly, you will feel like you are on top of the world.

The 2 remotes provided for the TV that's smaller than what I have in my garage couldn't summon the Sunday Night Football game. Was so disappointed to be charged premium rates for cut rate accommodations we left our room 30 minutes later with the key on the empty desk in the lobby. Won't be back, won't recommend to any of my family or clients. Paid $300 for a room I didn't even spend an hour of my day in. Disaster !!!

The staff was so kind and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We decided to get the Pig, Fig & Goat Bavarian Pretzel and the Wedge Salad with Steak. I know, not even a brunch item! Lol We sat upstairs outside overlooking the Main Street it was a beautiful day. Ya'll this was HANDS DOWN, the best pretzel I have EVER eaten! It came with little sides of goat cheese infused with honey, a warm beer cheese dip, fig jam, candied pecans, and prosciutto. I cannot even describe how fantastic these flavors were on this it was incredible!! Then the Wedge Salad. The dressing was amazing it was like a ranch and blue cheese dressing. It had bacon, cherry tomatoes, pickled onions(YUM), and the steak was perfectly cooked to medium! I absolutely cannot wait to come back again!
