She then proceeded to keep two nights stay and only refund the rest. This is not good customer service and is not acceptable. Not a place I would recommend for guests to stay in Placerville. There are many other options with higher standards of quality than this. Enjoy the picture of what was above their heads while they attempted to sleep all night.

The owner, Raven, greeted us. She was friendly, sweet and pleasant. We loved the rustic vibe of the motel and Raven's generosity in offering access to amenities at the motel. Unfortunately an issue developed before we finished checking in. We saw but did not occupy a small room. We discussed the issue with Raven and she was open, honest and mature. We ended up leaving without staying. Raven was good to her word and kept her promises. The issue isn't important. We wish Raven and her beautiful business well and appreciate the integrity she demonstrated.

We drove in completely unaware that we were about to discover what would become our gemstone, our true getaway. The property is deeply tranquil and serene. Evenings are spent around fire pits with a glass of wine, surrounded by silence except for the sounds of nature. We've baked apple pies from their orchard, enjoyed endless peaceful nights under the stars, and--by the generous allowance of the property owners--explored the land on their ATV simply to wander and take it all in. What truly sets this place apart is the people. Linda and her husband Jim make you feel like family. When I call and say I need a getaway, they always find a way--even during blackout dates. That kind of care is rare and meaningful. Trisha, who maintains the property, is phenomenal, and the grounds are always immaculate. This is a very, very gorgeous retreat tucked right in the middle of Placerville, yet it feels worlds away. Part of me wants to keep it a secret--but it deserves to be known. Linda was so great and easy to reach if we had any questions or concerns, and was very hands on during the reception. She was extremely helpful. The bartender Beka was so sweet and did an amazing job. Everyone absolutely loved her! The cabins were very clean and so cozy. Having everything all in one place for the wedding was so much less stress and Shadow Ridge Ranch was the best place to do it. I can't thank them enough for making our day so beautiful, special and fun. The reception was a BLAST and we danced the night away. The way that the property is set up was perfect! Staff was super friendly, very kind and helpful with a great smile! There's a restaurant across the street; The Forester, good food, prices are $15 +.
