I always buy my alcohol from the Jewel or Whole Foods. But I recently purchased from The Cottage via DoorDash. The Cottage has way better prices, and their delivery is super fast! Love this place. I'm not a drinker I just go for the cheaper smokes that cost nearly $60 less than I pay anywhere else near me. It's easy to get to with a decent size parking lot and is never crowded. The staff are wonderful people they know me when I walk in and greet me like a friend they know exactly what I smoke and get them before I even ask. They take time to make you feel welcome which you don't get from big box stores so if you want a personal touch and a friendly face this is the place for you. Huge range of booze plenty of variety with some unusual finds. Some of the beer bottles in particular have very decorative labels and although I don't drink I do like to look at them in an artistic way. Strongly recommend this store. read more

I went into the store for a case of wine and a black delivery lady from Amazon entered the store to purchase a bottle of Gatorade they told her there was a 10.00 minimum on all purchases mind you it was 90degrees outside I purchased the item for her I couldn't get over how callous there behavior was I will never return. read more

Great store and I have no idea what the duffus Reviewers are talking about when they describe the store as dank dirty or unsafe. Whining suburban wimps see anything that isnt a branded big box store a scary environment. It has terrific prices, good helpful staff and a huge selection. Every time I pull in here, I see a newsflash of "Woman shot outside suburban liquor store" in my head. This place creeps me the F out. It's dank, dirty, and full of deadbeats... not the employees, who are kind and helpful (people- you can SO find a better job- I fear for your safety), but the regular patrons... some of which can be found inside, the others in the parking lot with their underage companions patiently awaiting in the car. So why do I go here? It's common knowledge that this place sells liquor into the wee hours of the morning... when most other liquor stores have already closed. One star for being easy to get booze at all hours, the second and third star for the people they employ, and negative 2 stars for the uncleanliness and scary patrons that sit in their cars outside. read more

I put this LIQUOR STORE review under this heading as it seemed to be the closest one I could find. If somebody knows a better place for this review to be titled under, please inform me and I will move it. Also, I am a strictly a beer geek, and this review speaks only to that. Also small and a little dingy inside, but these things are all part of it's character. This is currently the best liquor store in the Chicagoland area. It's a combination of the selection and the pricing. Sometimes you can just find ridiculous deals. Why? Because some of their beer is sold after the official expiration stamp date. This date is irrelevant to the majority of beers (although certainly not all), which either pretty much stay the same or can even improve over time. Informed, laid-back staff. I'm specifically going to talk about champagne. I'm a huge bubbly snob. It's only champagne if it's FROM the Champagne region of France elsewise it's just sparkling wine. Which brings me to Vueve Clicquot. The Widow. Normally a bottle of this yellow labeled stuff brings a price tag of around $50. Not so here... Much to my delight it's $35 dollars a pop. While I agree with Candice G about the digs in general (dank, dirty, full o' deadbeats)... It's like an lush's box of chocolates - you never know what kind of booze you'll find at a great price when you stop in here. Most recently, I got a bottle of Herradura Reposado for $19.99. Yes, $19.99 - for a bottle of tequila that normally goes for twice the price anywhere else. I might just go back tomorrow and get another bottle, now that I think about it. I had originally stopped in looking for my beloved Agavales Blanco (very smooth and very cheap). While none of the three guys behind the counter had never even HEARD of the Agavales brand, one in particular took the time to talk to me about my price and taste preference and didn't try to sell me the most expensive brand. Did I mention going back for another bottle? At a price that good, I won't feel guilty about using it for margaritas. read more

They sell at least 15-25 diferent "Close out" wines, for $2.99 which always vary. There has never been any bad wine in the God only knows how many bottles I've purchased thru the years,although I would steer clear of any wines more than 5-6 years old because you don't know how they were stored. They tell me they aquire them from restaurants that change their wine lists. I almost always Google the wines I've purchased and found all to retail for between $6.00 - $14.00! Sometimes they also have the best deals on diferent types of liquor. At one time they were selling an nice orange liquor for $2.99. It Googled at found it for no less than $12.99. But don't tell the owners, I think they may be in the dark about the retail prices. I've also looked at just their regular prices and it seems to me they are very fair. Ohhhh Cottage Hill, Do you really charge $.60 for every credit card transaction? Not only are you rude, miserable, and unhappy, your prices aren't even that great. With Sal's, Doti's, and even Jewel so close, how can you really try to sneak $.60 on every cc transactions? You don't even tell your customers that there is a charge. We drive here from Buffalo Grove and previously from Skokie and West Rogers Park. Why you ask? They have close-out wines at $2.99 a bottle. Quite frankly I hesitate to write this review because I don't want everyone to check out these great prices. About a year ago we found 7 Deadly Zins which normally sell for $16 a bottle for $3.99! Here's an update: When I learned that Stone Cherry Whiskey by Seagram's was no longer in production, I had a bet with my friend I could find it here. I dragged her in with me and lo and behold there on the shelf 15 bottles! While I was rejoicing, she went on a search for a favorite tequila that wasn't made anymore. I've never had a bad experience with Corner Cottage, and I definitely don't feel weird about the atmosphere! CC carries a huge selection of booze, and the guys at the front counter are helpful and so, so polite. I never feel judged there, which is a problem I get a lot as someone who is new to booze and is just trying out random things. An unexpected gem. From the outside this place appears to be just another boring neighborhood liquor store with the usual narrow, boring beer selection. Surprise! They have an AWESOME beer selection. Belgians, microbrews, Germans, Polish beers...you name it. My sister lives in Elmhurst and I always go stop by before visiting. If you need fresh paint, wide aisles and mega bright lights, then go to Binny's and pay for it. If you want a great selection of beers, friendly clerks and reasonable prices, then go to the cottage. read more
