    Whiskey, Bourbon Rye Offering

Spirits & Spice is such a hidden gem in the Oak Brook Mall! Someone made a suggestion to check out the store a couple months ago. I had bought the Rose Petal Liquor and easily became a household staple for our liquor cabinet. It is so fresh & bright and truly mimics how one would want a rose enhancer for a cocktail to taste. The prices are a bit of a premium but all liquors come in reusable bottles, most liquors are imported from overseas to avoid bad ingredients, and the options are endless! It's an at-home cocktail makers dream. I highly recommend checking it out!

A warm welcoming greeting as soon as you walked in. Employees were definitely eager to help you out and ask questions about what type of spirits you enjoy the most. Allowed a free sample towards the back of the store, limited selection, they can't just open up every bottle. The price point is pretty good especially for being Oakbrook.

Nice place to give unique and personal gifts for any occasion. Great customer service rep. Nice options with taste testing abilities. Welcoming vibe, smaller but comfortable environment. Buy your spirits, olive oil, wine and decorations. Build up rewards for discount. Can be a bit pricey depending on your pockets but as I said good gift ideas because they can also ship them.

Spirits and Spice and everything nice. I was shopping at Oakbrook Mall. As, I was walking I looked in the window and saw some interested displays. I was curious to see what this place was about. New business hidden gem alert in Oakbrook. I was greeted by one of the workers name Aaron. He was attentive and helpful. He shared with me the history behind the store and the different whiskeys. I was also able to sample some of the different flavored liqueur. Each one had a unique flavor and taste to them. Each one is custom blended. You can also purchase oils, vinegars and wine. I really enjoyed the Mango Pineapple Cream Liqueur. Very delicious blend of flavors in this drink. Nice place to come and try out some unique spirits and spices.

Found this gem on eventbrite. I scheduled the 20 minute whiskey tasting tour and was extremely pleased with the service and setup of this shop. Our guide Aaron was phenomenal. His knowledge, patience, sense of humor and just overall pleasent demeanor was some of the best service I've received in a long time. The shop was very clean and the tour was a great value for the price. I highly recommend visiting this location. You will not be disappointed

With a planned shopping trip to Oakbrook Center over this past weekend visiting was going to be a no brainer. Generally Black Friday sales (both online and in store) have been pretty sucky this year and it's turned me off from shopping because the discounts just aren't there. The best discounts I've seen so far were here. Sadly, over a decade ago we used to see discounts averaging around 70-90% (minus the jacked up pricing) and that truly felt like a Black Friday deal. How I long for those days again!!! Just a few weeks ago the store offered 50% off on their holiday boxed chocolates online and given the current sale climate, this was the best deal I could find this year. I picked up 2 boxes and felt they were totally worth the price for luxury chocolate. I also gifted a few chocolates myself (in store) from their Wall of Chocolate and I really liked the big selection of both milk and dark chocolate. My only gripe with the place is that currently they don't serve food and drink. I was ready to buy some hot chocolate however I was told by the associates that they plan to sell by January/February 2026. I've already tried some of their chocolate and the quality is definitely there. I also like the fact that their products are true to their motto, More Cacao, Less Sugar. That's always a plus for me.

This time I got a two-pack of huge (about 18 inches by 12 inches) poofy ones called taboons - $5 for the two of them and each weighed about a pound. They're very good plain, with olive oil and maybe a bit of flaky sea salt and/or rosemary, with butter, or in sandwiches and pizzas. The listed ingredients are flour, water, milk, sugar, salt, and yeast - no junk and they taste neither sweet nor salty. Plus, if you've not been here, it will be a fun place to explore.

This is not what you may remember as your Mom's or Grandmother's butcher shop. In my view they are a specialty shop providing premium quality at premium prices. The store is tucked in the corner of a small shopping center and parking can be a challenge on a Saturday. It is clean and bright. I am glad to see though, that there are still artisans with a commitment to quality, and craftsmanship in a trade--AI, thankfully, has no place here in delivering fresh, luxurious cuts of beef, pork and other fine meat either pre-cut or carved to your specifications. I have not been here before so I decided to give them a try starting with several, precut NY Strip steaks and several burger patties to prepare on the grill. The service is polite and professional--not a lot of time for chit-chatting with your butcher like I remember my Grandmother doing. There were several customers waiting in the small shop so I did not feel comfortable trying to dive into the particulars of the meat sourced so I just went with it. The steaks were fairly large cuts, just over one inch thick, and with what struck me as medium marbleization. The USDA grade was not posted on the price tags (that I saw). I decided to see if I could get away with a reverse sear on the steaks and it worked out pretty well though I kept the precook at a lower temperature than I normally would with a thicker cut for fear of over cooking them before I got them to the grill. That worked out well, getting them off the grill at medium doneness. The steaks were reasonably tender, juicy, with, as hoped, a luscious, beefy umami and enjoyed by my guests. I paired everything with a nice Côt which was just perfect. I decided to try the burgers on the griddle top, done to medium, and they were flavorful and juicy. I have to say I was satisfied with the quality and did not feel taken to the cleaners at almost $30 a pound for the steaks though I am not sure this will be a weekly stop (that price point was one of the lower ones in the shop). I will, however, come back for those times I am having special guests or family for those special occasions and will likely update then.
