SavWay Fine Wines & Spirits is a great locally owned and operated beverage store. The prices are very fair and they offer a wide variety of beers, wines and spirits. The staff are very friendly, remember the faces of customers and are helpful. The inside is well organized and clean. There is a walk-in fridge for macro brews with prices that beat the local grocery store liquor aisle. There are also refrigerators with selections of whites, Rosés and Champagnes. They have a very large selection of wines. On Fridays there are often samples of local beverages to try. This is a go-to spot for many in Hinsdale, Oak Brook and the surrounding areas. read more

SavWay Fine Wine and Spirits in Oak Brook is the stop for adult beverages, conveniently located on York road they have a great selection of, everything. It was a Thursday evening, after work I had walked in looking for something particular. I didn't have time to browse and they didn't have what I was looking for available, yet. However I was advised that maybe soon, they would. Fast forward to a few days later and voila, I was in luck. SavWay came through just like they said they might be able to. They were kind enough to call me when my desired beverage came in. I had only been looking for a particular beverage but I now had some time to browse what appeared to be a very good selection of wine. Recently discovering South African wines I was excited to see a selection that I pondered over for several minutes before making my decision on a Pinotage. A small number of varities had a well written description on a placard on the shelf in front of the bottle. This only led to me spending more time in the store as I wanted to read each and every description, but alas it was time to go. I proceeded to the checkout and on a Saturday afternoon the check out line was nonexistent I was thanked for my purchase made some small talk with the friendly staff and went on my way. Have been a couple times now, good selection however when I went to buy their Willett, the listed price on the tag was 50% of the actual cost when it was rung up. Don't understand why they falsely advertised it and then would not honor listed price but $700 is a BIG difference. Don't feel like I can trust them again. Savway is a liquor store on the edge of a town (Hinsdale) that was dry (DRY! in this day and age!) until just recently. Need I say more? Let's just say Savway is a popular spot. It's also the closest liquor store to my house which often comes in handy for those impromptu parties where beer, wine and ice are in short supply. Staff is extremely helpful in finding you just the right item- and the prices are good considering the neighborhood. They will also help in loading your car and getting the ice out of the coolers for you. You have no idea how surprised I was to find out the town I moved to not that many years ago was dry at the time. Trust me when I say that Savway Liquors saved my sanity on many a night! And then we got smarter in this town and finally repealed Prohibition! Now that only took 60 years! read more

I live in LA and needed to have a liquor gift delivered to First Folio Theatre in Oakbrook for their opening night, and these guys patiently dealt with me and the logistics of getting this accomplished over the course of several days, several emails, and several phone calls. S-n-S alert: (Short-n-Sweet) I like this store. It's kind of early 80's funky in terms of decor. You never see any "Just Turned 21" punks in here. Great selection of beer. They usually have Uncommon Brewers Baltic Porter, which gives me hope that someday they'll have their Golden State Ale (?). Another plus is a whole aisle stocking wine from New Zealand (my fave). The only thing that gets me is that I've never, ever been greeted when I walk in. Employees don't say much when you check out, either. It's rather odd. In fact, that's exactly what it is. I had to ship a bottle of champagne and some glasses for a wedding on short notice. I found out from the bride that one of the glasses had cracked en route. These guys were nice enough to comp me a couple more champagne flutes and I've been going back ever since. Prices are competitive and the staff is incredibly helpful. read more

The closest true liquor store to Hinsdale, one door away basically. Easy access off of Ogden except during rush hour. Moderate prices, with some decent deals but not as good as Sam's or Binny's. Will usually hit it up if I am in need for something basic or in a hurry, no reason for a special trip. Wine selection is decent but a little high on price and also kind of lacking if your looking for anything special. read more

This is my spot. Every time I need a special beer (or any beer for that matter!) this is where I go. They have a HUGE selection of wines, bourbon (pappy, george t stagg, orphan barrel lost prophet) and just about every other thing you could ask for. They recently started carrying Pipeworks, they have tons of surly, une annee, firestone walker, deschutes, three floyds, founders, bells, green flash, solemn oath, Belgian beers, domestics. All the good stuff. Matt is the beer guy, he is knowledgable, friendly and handles the limited releases like a well oiled machine. Do yourself a favor and check this place out! read more

ok. I'm usually VERY reluctant to post a negative review, but these guys are ripping consumers off! I'm a bourbon collector and have no problem spending a little extra for a rare bottle, but these guys are charging 500% markup over normal retail. I'm a big scotch fan, and Savway has a decent selection. Not large, but what they have is very good quality. And the prices are extremely good - usually beating Binny's (even accounting for the Binny's discount card). And their sale prices are amazing. Their craft beer selection is also not large, but again, prices are very good. read more

Selection is pretty decent for a non-Binny's and prices were even a little cheaper, but then again, most places are cheaper than the growing Binny's. Nice staff as well! Was ecstatic to find a 12-pack of Sierra Nevada Torpedo for $15. I even found a Parabola in the back. A nice convenient location for anybody in the area. read more

Great first impression of this place. I came in looking for a certain rare beer (Hopslam), believing I was at a lost cause that they are most likely sold out. The guy in front noticed me looking in the beer aisle (a big one!) and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. So I let him know it was my first time here and probably a lost cause that I was looking for hopslam. He told me that, for the most part, they sold out of a lot of it but he went in back to check for any remaining. After waiting, he came out with a 6-pack and told me that he made a lot of calls to co-workers and friends and was able to obtain one (it originally was a co-workers, but both the co-worker and himself gave it up for me). That is an example of going above and beyond for the customer and I will definitely be returning here on my commute from work. read more
