Veggie burrito comes with salsa and slaw
    Donna L.

We had nice morning walk along the Kawela Bay trails and then pulled into Country Eatery for breakfast. Parking was easy and ordering at the counter was easy too. My friend and I each got a hot espresso drink and we split a veggie burrito. The burrito was solidly chock full of hearty veg and wrapped in a good quality tortilla. I dumped plenty of homemade salsa and slaw directly onto my burrito, which I highly recommend as they kick it up a notch.

I needed a good drink and I noticed all these people walking around with a matcha. I was sold. As a matcha girlie, I was a little hesitant to try a new place out, but to my surprise, they had ceremonial matcha. I thought my coconut matcha was great! Service was fast and they had lots of syrup and flavor options. The place was cute and had some seating but my husband and I opted to take it to go.

Wow! This was great. Fun environment, friendly service and delicious food. Couldn't ask for more. Way-finding signs could be improved but after asking a local we were able to find it with no issues. Favorite part was eating at a counter that opened to the outside and feeling the sea breeze as I enjoyed some locally sourced fruit. Loved it!

Hands down my favorite place to eat. Well made and high quality. So much love is put into to each item!! I love not only the food, the employees but also the setting. I usually bring picnic blanket and my baby and I make a whole event out of stopping by here! We always meet other babies and leave with new friends!

Amazing! Best matcha on the island by far. Not too sweet & has that real matcha flavor. The perfect green. I got it with oat milk and agave. Sweet workers and cute atmosphere!

Located in kahuku by all the trucks. This coffee shop has non prices listed but it's definitely reasonable. Very cute coffee shop with friendly service. I order an iced hazelnut latte with occ milk. It's oat, coconut, and cashew milk that they make in store. It was creamy and tasty! It was $6 compared to other coffee places around that cost $10. There's only large or small size and I got the 'large.' I also ordered their carrot cake which was $6 and big! It was definitely homemade and tasted amazing with the frosting. I recommend getting their carrot cake! I will be back to get it again for sure!

    Egg sandwich

Overcooked egg, squashed bun and bad customer service. The person at the counter was interacting with everyone except me. Also had to wait 20min for that sandwich.

Found this little spot tucked away in a parking lot. There is actually a lot of food trucks and smaller food spots around the area. The weather was beautiful so i loved the large open windows and the outdoor seating area. The staff was very patient as we tried to decide what we wanted. The food itself was very fresh and so delicious! My wife had the very pancakes, i was able to steal a bite, and i wish i had ordered that. Definitely a great spot to chill and enjoy some delicious food Will definitely be back!

This place almost feels like a hidden gem. We happened upon it for breakfast while staying out on the North Shore and it was SO GOOD we went back the very next day for breakfast again! We each had breakfast sandwiches, lattes, and we split a mochi butter bar thing (this was honestly the most meh out of all of it). But the sandwiches were reeaaallly good, and great value for the price. Our first morning they accidentally swapped one of our sandwich orders with one from another couple's order (who we also saw getting bfast here the next day too!) and they immediately remade the sandwich without batting an eye, apologizing profusely. The place itself is very cute/quaint. It's a small shop and they only have about 6 seats inside/covered (bar-type seating at an open window facing out; it's really quite nice actually). But there are plenty of outdoor/uncovered places to sit right outside too. There are water cups for customers that you can fill up with a water cooler so you don't have to bug anyone for more water as well. Enjoy a nice, relaxing morning here watching the wild chickens and cats playing outside :)

Tucked in the back this is sort of a hidden gem. Mostly locals. Love the coffee and treats are legit. Small sitting area outside with a few seats inside at the window.

    Vanilla Macadamia Nut Iced Coffee
    Zaira B.

Ordered the iced vanilla macadamia nut latte and it was so smooth & delicious - I substituted with oatmilk. Only thing is that I almost cost me $8 and the large size is honestly small but it's a local spot and the coffee was so worth it. Would come back again!

I've noticed that the local vendors a bit off the beaten path in Oahu often turn out to be the best spots to try local favorites, so I figured this one had to be a gem. SHAVED ICE: 10/10 SERVICE: 9/10 AMBIANCE: 9/10 SHAVED ICE: 10/10 I don't usually care much for shave ice, but this one felt different. The ice is super soft and fluffy, not like the crunchy, gritty stuff you sometimes get. The flavor was really clean and vibrant and did not taste artificial. I tried the Waiola special, and it was EVERYTHING. Those portions were perfect. I love how they put a scoop of ice cream in the center of the mountain of shaved ice. Each bite was paired nicely with either mochi bites or vanilla ice cream. The menu was massive, ranging from acai bowls, smoothies, shakes, sundaes, etc., with so many yummy selections, and I was so indecisive on what to pick. They do both the classic flavors and some more creative combos. But the Waiola special was perfect. SERVICE: 9/10 The place has a laid-back, aloha feel. We did not experience a wait and were actually the only ones there, which is great as I heard this place can get packed. AMBIANCE: 9/10 The vibe is super relaxed with open-air, shaded seating, and very casual. It's the kind of place you stop at during a North Shore trip just to cool off, soak in the sun, and treat yourself. Parking: Pretty easy, which is a big plus when you're driving around Kahuku. I came in thinking shave ice was "just okay," but Rainbow House changed my mind. Their shave ice is genuinely memorable... light, flavorful, and fun. If you're anywhere near Kahuku or just driving the North Shore, this is absolutely a stop worth making.

The drink menu also seems nice, & I would've liked to try more of their teas & stuff. I got the "Tahitian Dream" (iced coffee drink), & the "Bread Melt". The Bread Melt was basically a slice of bread with melted mozzarella cheese & pesto, with a salad on top of it. It took a while to make, since there was only one person working there at the time, but the wait was worth it. I also liked the ambience around them, with a table & chairs under a thatched beach umbrella, & some tropical patio furniture under a tent-like cover. There were some chickens that wandered thru the area as well. They could've used at least one more staff member, but the lady who was there was friendly & helpful. They are a cash only restaurant, though, which is probably their only drawback. When I asked if they accepted cards, she was at least apologetic & stated that there was an ATM down the road.

Note that there's one window to order and the same window to pick-up from. Most people order and then wait off to the side on the bar stools for their order to be called. The girls in the truck were trying their best to take orders and keep up with giving out the orders. Not sure if it's possible but I think a different order window and pick up window would probably alleviate the stress/chaos for the girls to provide better service. The smoothies were filled to the brim which caused a little spillage as we were walking away from the pick up window. Be sure to ask for napkins, as they're not automatically given with each order. The flavors were fruity, although if you're looking for ice cold smoothies, this is not the place for you. I don't know how else to describe it, as I see the fruits in their fridge, but maybe they don't use as much ice or they use room temperature liquid base to mix with the smoothies? I'm also unsure of the liquid base, so you may want to inquire if you're lactose intolerant. Overall, not a terrible place for beverages, just needs a few tweaks here and there.
