Came here as a party of 9 as a family and had a legitimately BAD experience. The worst part is that it's owned by the Ritz Carlton now, but doesn't live up to barely even a 1 star review. We sat down and ordered and there wasn't another customer in the entire restaurant. Our waiter accidentally spilled the entire glass bottle of water that they put in the center of tables, but that wasn't even what phased us. When we got our food, they ended up making up the wrong food. It wasn't until we got the check that they tried to charge us for the food they made double of on accident or wrong. There were about 2 waitresses and 2 waiters, and all of them were serving us since there was no one else in the whole place, and yet not ONE gave us a good experience to remember. BOTH waitresses and waiters were equally as bad with their customer service, and the waitress even tried to argue about the check at the end. Would NOT recommend.

Lei Lei's fully exceeded my expectations! I was a little worried the prices would be a bit absurd, being located on the grounds of the Turtle Bay resort, but it wasn't too bad; the food quality for price definitely did match up, which made it all the more of a satisfactory meal. We ordered the Warm Crab dip, the Traditional Caesar Salad, the Seafood Cobb Salad, and the Seafood Scampi. The Warm Crab dip was actually heavenly. Soooo creamy and smooth, with the Crab flavor not being overpowering or too seafoody. I would have loved it even more if the bread that it came with had been toasted, but it was truly so delicious as is. The Caesar and Cobb salads both tasted just as we hoped they would, and were also fantastic portions. All the seafood we received also tasted super fresh. As for the Scampi, it was creamy and delicious. Then for dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae, the Mud Pie, and the Mango Cheesecake. Our server was Chris, and he was nice enough to make sure we got 3 cookies so we could all get a cookie on the sundae for my party of 3. Additionally, he gave us a lot of helpful recommendations for what to do in the area, which was so kind. I really enjoyed Lei Lei's!

Lei Lei's is a convenient spot for dinner at Turtle Bay. It's not as pricey as the Beach House. The portions are generous, service is friendly, and the ambiance is very casual and laid-back. We had the her-crusted chicken, crab-stuffed salmon, and 1/2 rack of ribs. These entrees come with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. They also have a good selection of desserts. Prices are around $30-$55 for entrees.

Had a wonderful experience at Lei Lei's. We had a friendly greeting upon arrival and were seated at a lovely outdoor table with a golf course view. Enjoyed the ribs with a mai tai while my partner loved her prime rib which was done to her liking. For dessert we had a scrumptious warm chocolate cookie with ice cream.

Average ‍ I guess I just expected more because it's the Ritz... but even for a golf course restaurant where you know it's more laid back they still just could have done a lot better. Pros: Good ribs! Salmon was yummy too. Cons: Lemonade drink was an overpriced mixed bev. The aesthetic reminded me of Chilis ugh

3 Stars The food was okay, nothing too special. We were seated quickly, which was nice, but the ordering process was a bit weird. They made us order before sitting down, but the people who came in after us didn't have to? That felt a little weird. That said, the staff was friendly, and it was a nice evening to sit outside, so the atmosphere was good. Just not sure I'd rush back.

Overall food was ok but the service was good. We were seated right away and since Covid they have added outdoor seating and the indoor seating has been spaced out. This restaurant is no longer part of Turtle Bay Resort, it's separate owners. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. There were some new items from last time but I think the amount they charge compared to what you get isn't worth the money and I think food taste and quality went down. For pupu we ordered the warm crab dip. It was ok but it tasted more like tuna than crab. The slices of toast they give is only toasted on one side. Entree we ordered prime rib, salmon stuff with crab (same mix as the crab dip) and seafood pasta. The seafood pasta was interesting cause they use udon noodles. This dish wasn't too bad but it could've used garlic and a little more flavor. It was basically tomatoes with shrimp and bay scallops. The prime rib is my go to when I come here but this one just wasn't it. I think I had gotten the end piece and it was a bit dry and not too tasty. Dessert we had the mud pie... this is never a disappointment! We ate it all up and would've got a second one lol. The older guy, possibly the manager, took our dinner dishes away and took our dessert order. He was even nice enough to give us a small take out container of "broccoli". We were excited cause we love broccoli but I did think it was unusual. I opened the container and there were chocolate chip cookies! Thank you so much for the kid gesture and we enjoyed them!

the food here was wonderful! we had both breakfast and a dinner here. the breakfast was slightly strange since it was only served as take out. but those who had the breakfast sandwich were big fans!! the dinner was fabulous! we all (4) tried different offerings and all very pleased even though they were swamped! it was Mother's Day and the staff was very busy but excellent and pleasant also!

I love this place! Amazing food, amazing staff and the most comfortable setting around the North Shore! Especially enjoy baby back ribs, Caesar salad! Seafood scampi is excellent and the chocolate chip cookie sundae is a must! Parking is easy too

Here is our family with Ian and Tracy (the owners) flanking the ends! What a wonderful couple!

Ask the Community - Lei Lei's Bar and Grill

    Can they accommodate 75 people?

They have indoor and outdoor seating, inside could probably handle 75, but it would be most of the available seating I think.

Are they open for dine-in yet?

    Yes they are!

Are there any vegan dinner options?

there was a garden burger option and they are super accommodating. They will take care of you!

Do they have a happy hour?

I believe they did when I was there, early dinner time, not sure between what time or time of the week .. I remember 'cause this three old guys who hasn't seen each other for so long were all drunk, hugging each other a few dozen times and happy!

Do they have a kids menu?

Not sure, as there were no kids in our party. It is kid friendly though, as there were tables with kids. Plus if you sit outside, there's a large grassy lawn they can run on.

Sorry late post! This was about a month from posting this!…read moreMy family, bf, and I wanted to support food trucks today for our lunch, so we decided to head to the Kahuku Sugar Mill I wanted a garlic shrimp plate and this is usually my go-to spot. I love the garlic smears they leave on the rice and that it's almost like a paste (my preference lol). Though it is very oily/buttery (almost like a pool) where they have the shrimps- still really Ono! My dad wanted to try their squid and shrimp plate (garlic butter combo)- he said he enjoyed it! He requested no garlic on his rice. Overall, this has been my preferred garlic shrimp plate. I don't like the shrimp heads at the shells aren't too hard. There's some places and it's very crunchy. These ones aren't pretty soft so I don't have to worry about it hurting my lips when I suck the garlic off lol I do want to note that I had shrimp here once and it was a bit mushier than usual. This was a couple months ago, but all the other times, the shrimp has been a good texture

I am being brutally honest. I was extremely excited for this shrimp . I have never had bad garlic…read moreshrimp at any truck on the island. If I could give negative stars I would. Not sure if this was an off day, or if I got a bad batch of shrimp (everything else wasn't good either) but it was horrible. We walked around the entire food truck area trying to decide what we wanted. We came to this area for Da Bald Guy but he was sold out so on to the next option. Shrimp on the island is my go to and so I decided to try Famous. Their pictures on the menu looked great so I ordered a plate to split with my husband of spicy and garlic shrimp with two scoops of rice. It was $20. I paid as my husband went over to Mikes Huli Huli Chicken to see about getting an appetizer. My food came out super fast. Like almost too fast... My husband asked why it was so quick. I think I found out. We sat at the brewery bar area and grabbed a beer and opened the to go box. It looked good. The spicy was clearly spicier than the garlic shrimp. I grabbed a garlic shrimp and started to peel it and was having a hard time. It was not letting go of the shrimp. That is usually a sign that it was thawed incorrectly or overcooked. My guess was these were shrimp that were cooked earlier and sat... overcooking. Once I finally got the skin off and ate one the shrimp was grainy and super rubbery. They were gross. Absolutely gross. I took a scoop of rice and it was mushy. Again seems like it sat for a long time and over cooked. It was a ball of mush. I couldn't get back two bites before we threw it away. There goes $20 and sadly my confidence that all shrimp trucks on the island are magical and taste great.

I honestly thought it was wagyu misspelled but it's actually based on a type of sauce explained to me as sweet and savory. It was a plate lunch with 2 scoops rice, NY steak, and a side salad. The steak was cooked pretty well but after eating maybe 2 or 3 pieces I stopped. This is the kind of plate that gets better with time so I left it for a few hours and was not disappointed that the sauce marinaded more into the steak. Giovanni's is one of those places where memory does a remarkable amount of the seasoning. I've been…read moreeating here across decades. Enough visits that this is no longer about catching them on a bad afternoon, ordering the wrong thing or failing to understand what the place is supposed to be. I've tried the different shrimp, stood in the lines, eaten at the tables, navigated the parking, brought people here and returned because, for a very long time, Giovanni's was simply one of those places you went when you were on this side of the island. At some point, repetition becomes evidence. The truck itself has become an artifact. Covered in signatures, battered by time, photographed millions of times. There was probably a period when all of that felt charming. Now it mostly feels tired. There is a difference between patina and neglect and the surrounding experience has increasingly crossed that line for me. Flies, crowded tables, overflowing activity, rough parking, heat, trash nearby. You can romanticize rustic only so far before rustic starts asking for a pressure washer. Then there is the service, which has consistently been the hardest part for me to understand. I don't need anyone performing hospitality like they're auditioning for a resort commercial, but basic warmth costs nothing. Too often the interaction here feels impatient and transactional, as though the customer is somehow inconveniencing the operation by showing up to buy the food. After enough visits, you stop calling that an off day. And then there is the plate. The shrimp itself is actually the least offensive part. It is generally cooked reasonably well. Tender enough, rarely destroyed and when you get a good batch you can understand why this formula became so popular. Everything around it drags it down. The rice has repeatedly been soft, clumped and bordering on mushy. I am annoyingly particular about rice, but rice is not some decorative substance placed beneath the main event. It matters. When half the plate is rice, screwing it up is not a minor detail. The garlic is abundant, certainly, but abundance and care are different things. It often arrives more like a wet mass of processed garlic than the fragrance and texture you get from properly chopped fresh cloves. Add the butter and oil and you certainly get intensity, but after several bites the whole thing becomes heavy rather than interesting. The little salad on the side generally feels like an afterthought that has been waiting for someone to remember it. And that is ultimately my problem with Giovanni's. The entire experience feels as though its reputation arrived at the destination years before the restaurant did and everyone decided there was no longer much reason to keep improving. People will continue coming. Of course they will. The name is famous, the truck is recognizable, the photographs are practically mandatory and nostalgia is one hell of a business model. I understand it because it worked on me for years. But strip away the mythology and ask a brutally simple question: If this exact plate came from an unknown truck with no history, no signatures and no reputation, would you still wait in line for it? I wouldn't. Two stars. The shrimp can still be decent and I have too many memories here to pretend the place means nothing to me. But nostalgia should bring you back to a restaurant. It shouldn't be responsible for making the food taste better. I kept returning because tradition can turn habit into taste. I'm done confusing the two.
