Both Jose and I had the privilege to go to turtle Bay on the North Shore. The location of our estimate is at Kuilima Estates and it was a beautiful day, bright sunny skies, cool breezes, and the fresh smell of salt in the air from the ocean. So our job was to take all the measurements of sliding screen doors total of six of them plus two very large windows Screens. We both got done in two hours. It was still too early to go home so we called it Pau Hana Time!!! we both needed drinks, even though it was still lunchtime, but why not we both control our own business. There is this quaint little bar nearby so we went straight there! We was greeted by two ladies, and one of them is the bartender name Kanani. She's an excellent bartender who knows how to be super friendly like if we were all best friends. She is definitely one of the main reasons why we go there often. I enjoy this little bar because of the view of the golf course. The bar itself is an open restaurant so you can feel the cool breezes of the tradewinds. I've been coming to this bar ever since the first time I started golfing, ever since the dinosaurs ruined the Earth, lmao! Just kidding! We had several beers and $15 French Fries?! You do get a decent amount even with the both of us eating it. It was very filling. It's amazing every time we go there there's always several happy people who are very friendly to talk to, and that's one of the reasons why the bar is a wonderful place for both locals and tourists to enjoy. Although I haven't eaten at the restaurant recently, I do remember when I did try the restaurant the food was very well prepared and seasoned just right. Stopped here for a quick lunch and found the food and service quite good. It was not crowded as it was a weekday, but noted that servers were very attentive and kept checking on us. Both our burger and sandwich were done really well and the season fries were great. The Cobb salad was very large. And could easily feed two persons. read more

Came here as a party of 9 as a family and had a legitimately BAD experience. The worst part is that it's owned by the Ritz Carlton now, but doesn't live up to barely even a 1 star review. We sat down and ordered and there wasn't another customer in the entire restaurant. Our waiter accidentally spilled the entire glass bottle of water that they put in the center of tables, but that wasn't even what phased us. When we got our food, they ended up making up the wrong food. It wasn't until we got the check that they tried to charge us for the food they made double of on accident or wrong. There were about 2 waitresses and 2 waiters, and all of them were serving us since there was no one else in the whole place, and yet not ONE gave us a good experience to remember. BOTH waitresses and waiters were equally as bad with their customer service, and the waitress even tried to argue about the check at the end. Would NOT recommend. read more

We really enjoyed Lei Lei's Bar and Grill, we ate there 2 nights! Try their Tropical Breeze cocktail, does not disappoint! We tried their oyster shots(awesome), shrimp cocktail, tempura calamari strips, crab dip all were excellent! For dinner we had blackened Ahi, seafood scampi, pork chops, bbq pork ribs. We also had the ceasar salad with blackend ahi, their tomato salad. Dessert was the Snickers ice cream, strawberry cheesecake and their chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate ice cream! I was a little worried the prices would be a bit absurd, being located on the grounds of the Turtle Bay resort, but it wasn't too bad; the food quality for price definitely did match up, which made it all the more of a satisfactory meal. We ordered the Warm Crab dip, the Traditional Caesar Salad, the Seafood Cobb Salad, and the Seafood Scampi. The Warm Crab dip was actually heavenly. Soooo creamy and smooth, with the Crab flavor not being overpowering or too seafoody. I would have loved it even more if the bread that it came with had been toasted, but it was truly so delicious as is. The Caesar and Cobb salads both tasted just as we hoped they would, and were also fantastic portions. All the seafood we received also tasted super fresh. As for the Scampi, it was creamy and delicious. Then for dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae, the Mud Pie, and the Mango Cheesecake. Our server was Chris, and he was nice enough to make sure we got 3 cookies so we could all get a cookie on the sundae for my party of 3. I seriously do not understand these reviews. It must be their own employee's writing them The ribs were absolutely disgusting. They were full of this thick, clear, rubbery fat and membrane running through the middle. I couldn't eat them. The shrimp scampi was chewy, fishy, and tasted old. Honestly, it reminded me more of bad scallops and old shrimp. And the crab dip It tasted like old fish and had a smell that made it hard to even take another bite. What pushed me over the edge was how management handled it. My family didn't want me to make a scene at the restaurant, so I waited until we left and called. I explained exactly what was wrong with the food, and the manager basically dismissed everything I said. Her response was that because I didn't complain immediately while sitting at the table, there was nothing she could do. No refund. No credit. No attempt to make it right. Horrible service. Avoid this disgusting money trad with old expired food. I was concerned I may get food poisoning so I just didn't eat much of my gross meal So let me get this straight: we spend almost $200, get food that was barely edible, and because I was trying to be respectful and not embarrass my family in the restaurant, I'm just out the money? Lei Lei's is a convenient spot for dinner at Turtle Bay. It's not as pricey as the Beach House. The portions are generous, service is friendly, and the ambiance is very casual and laid-back. We had the her-crusted chicken, crab-stuffed salmon, and 1/2 rack of ribs. These entrees come with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. They also have a good selection of desserts. It's also awfully expensive and crowded during the wrong season, but it is which you expect I guess at Ritz Carlton hotel, though you probably expect a little more but they change hotel names like they change socks up there so I don't know I guess ambience is our biggest draw. Overall food was ok but the service was good. We were seated right away and since Covid they have added outdoor seating and the indoor seating has been spaced out. This restaurant is no longer part of Turtle Bay Resort, it's separate owners. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. There were some new items from last time but I think the amount they charge compared to what you get isn't worth the money and I think food taste and quality went down. For pupu we ordered the warm crab dip. It was ok but it tasted more like tuna than crab. The slices of toast they give is only toasted on one side. Entree we ordered prime rib, salmon stuff with crab (same mix as the crab dip) and seafood pasta. The seafood pasta was interesting cause they use udon noodles. This dish wasn't too bad but it could've used garlic and a little more flavor. It was basically tomatoes with shrimp and bay scallops. The prime rib is my go to when I come here but this one just wasn't it. I think I had gotten the end piece and it was a bit dry and not too tasty. Dessert we had the mud pie... this is never a disappointment! We ate it all up and would've got a second one lol. The older guy, possibly the manager, took our dinner dishes away and took our dessert order. He was even nice enough to give us a small take out container of "broccoli". We were excited cause we love broccoli but I did think it was unusual. I opened the container and there were chocolate chip cookies! We live on the Big Island. Whenever we go to Oahu, we stay on the North Shore and go to LeiLei's two or three times during our stay. The whole family loves going there! We love to sit outside on the lanai, with the beautiful views of the golf course. The owner is always making sure that everyone is happy and comfortable. Ian is the perfect host, and we are treated like family every time. We love being able to buy lei from the hostess stand when it's a special occasion. I still have a dried lei that I saved from Mother's Day weekend hanging from my rear view mirror! The food is always so good! We always get poke and ribs and the warm crab dip is always a hit with the family. We've started getting two orders of ribs as that's everyone's favorite. Always cooked to perfection, the juicy meat just slips off the bone! We've tried every dinner entree and the scampi is top notch! The pastas are the kids' favorite, and we love the Pepper Crusted Filet and the Filet Mignon of course. We always end up getting the double cookie Sundae to end our perfect meal! Enjoy! read more

We weren't sure about eating at a restaurant at the resort but locals recommended this place and we were thoroughly impressed. Prior to eating here, we did swing by for drinks a few night earlier. Drinks are cheaper here than anywhere else on the resort. When we came back for dinner, service was great and food was delicious. The crab dip, calamari steak and seafood pasta (udon) were all stellar. The calamari was one of the best I've had anywhere. It's flattened and prepped like katsu, perfectly crisp and delicious. We were celebrating two birthdays, and I snuck that info to the waitstaff and they brought out two decadent desserts. Yum! Fantastic place! read more

Great dinner on our first evening on the island. Right in the heart of Turtle Bay resort. Super laid back and right on the green. Staff was great from the hostess to the server. Several other employees checked on us during our meal and made sure we always had full drinks. I ordered the peppered filet and it was cooked perfectly, great crust from the pepper, and the semi glaze was delicious! Both kids ordered the filet as well (not pepper crusted) and my wife ordered the herb crusted chicken - which I tried - and finished when she was done LOL! 5 stars for the Grilled Chicken Garden Salad ($28). I almost didn't order it because it was pricy, but my bf and I were dehydrated and in need of vegetables after traveling for 19 hours. He was about to rage lol. I'm glad I got the salad because it ended up being one of the best things I ate on my trip to North Shore. The salad was entree sized and large enough for two people to share. Upon opening the to-go container, I was impressed by the generous topping of warm chicken breast. The chicken was far more tender and flavorful than I expected, and not too salty. The spring mix included shredded carrots, and I enjoyed the marinated cucumber and tomato that sort of tasted like shirazi salad. We asked for both papaya seed dressing and balsamic vinaigrette on the side. I preferred the balsamic, but I was happy to discover that the papaya seed dressing didn't taste much like papaya (which I dislike). Finally, there was an extra box included in our bag. My eyes lit up when I realized they contained chocolate chip cookies! Perhaps they were being given away since it was near closing time? The cookies were good: crispy, thick, and chewy. read more

They serve it with this yummy sauce with crunch wontons underneath. The chicken was very flavorful and cooked well. The portion sizes were huge. As for sides in these plates, we got mashed potatoes and rice and they both came with veggies. The veggies are nothing to write home about. They're cooked very blandly with a little salt. The potatoes weren't that flavorful and could've been more mashed. The rice wasn't completely hot when we got it. read more

They don't take reservations and it's first come-first serve. Located in the golf clubhouse, we strolled over for an early dinner. We were greeted immediately. They handed us menus and told us to have a seat on a bench and pick out what we'd like to eat before they'd seat us. Ok. We opted to sit outside and the views are the golf course. Oyster shot- pretty standard. 1 oyster with some cocktail sauce. Lei lei's Caesar salad. Pretty standard. Lei lei's signature prime rib. Ordered medium, but more like medium well. But at least it was tender. Served with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. This was good, but I've had better. My partner ordered the Pepper Crusted Filet Mignon, medium. It came out well done. Inside was grey. He considered sending back, but was concerned it would take too long and just ate it. He was very disappointed. Servers were friendly and atmosphere is laid back and casual. Lei Lei's is a wonderful break from Turtle Bay food. It is more casual and laid-back. Drinks are big, served in pint glasses! It is more affordable to eat here too. I had the ahi salad with local greens and papaya dressing. The ahi wasn't super rare in the middle but tbh it was really tasty anyway. The dressing was TO-DIE. Need to find this at home asap. I also tried the local ahi tuna melt. Also delicious with a generous amount of the tuna. Lastly, I had the crab stuffed salmon with dill sauce. So yummy I could eat this every week if I could. The vegetables that came with the salmon were fresh and steamed perfectly (just tender but also a little crisp) however they were not seasoned at all, which I think could be made better. Servers were truly genuine people who care. Bathrooms are HUGE and clean, and have loads of space to change a baby. Love this place and would choose it over literally everything over at the resort. Don't expect to find anything that will keep you coming back. The food was American / Island casual, and serviceable in a pinch. The setting was a nice covered open-air environment with a golf course view. The service was OK but there was a terrible snafu where the hostess, in an effort to be helpful and clear chairs, cleared the chair my mom was trying to sit in. My mom went crashing to the floor. Understandably she was very upset and probably scared off the hostess. But there was no warning, no tap on the shoulder to recommend the adjacent seat. And compounding the whole thing, the hostess never came out to apologize. While our server was very nice, a simple apology would have gone a very long way. That said the hostess was young, and she really was trying to be helpful. I just really think a sincere apology should had followed. read more

A lot to like here. We were in town on July 4, 2024. The hotel was crazy busy with a fireworks display and a special menu at the pool bar (Sunset). We ditched the special menu and walked to the golf course. So glad we did. It was about 6 pm when we arrived. Not much of a wait, we were a party of 5. Wired about 10-15 minutes, looked over the menu and got a couple drinks at the bar. Get the Bay Breeze!! Before seating, they make you order. I've never been to a restaurant that makes you order on your way to the table. But I liked it. Cut down on wait time at the table. I had the half rack of ribs. Wife had ahi tuna. Oldest child had chicken Caesar. Kids had chicken tenders and kids fish. The ahi tuna was absolutely amazing! The ribs were sauced up (for what it's worth). I loved the ribs, but if you are a dry rub rib guy, stay away. Sides were delicious. I had the smashed potatoes and Cole slaw. Others had rice and veggies. The rice was bland. I loved the Cole slaw and potatoes. Then the dessert menu came and we split a double order of the chocolate chip cookie sundae. It lasted 3 minutes. See pic for understanding. We were able to sit on the course and watch the fireworks at 8:30. It was a perfect evening! Big thanks to the staff! Helpful at every turn! The manager came over and chatted us up a few times, which we love, and invited us to stay for the fireworks and helped us anticipate what to expect. He wasn't wrong. We go to north shore every year and this is the best place for dinner on north shore. North shore is awesome during the day but has very few options at night. This is the spot that always is always open and is consistently great. The owner/manager is there and always checking in on patrons. The service is fast and the food is good. We typically get the ribs and the prime rib. They are also open for breakfast if you want to grab a bite before 18 holes or snorkeling. It's fun and a friendly environment good for everyone of all ages. Looking forward to coming back next time we're at turtle bay. read more

Lei Lei's overlooks the Arnold Palmer designed golf course at Turtle Bay which gives it the perfect setting to have a great meal. Unfortunately the food lets you down. The Prime Rib is average at best as it lacks any depth in flavor and presentation. The calamari steak is dry and lackluster and is disappointing. The service is average and the wait to get in is not worth it. At the end of the day Lei Lei's is very expensive and offers poor food and average service. read more
