We tried Cafe Haleiwa today since we were in the area, and we had a good experience. Husband and I both ordered the loco moco. They ran out of mac salad, and I was able to sub in avocado instead, which I didn't mind. We both liked the loco moco and thought the gravy was tasted rich and savory. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and outdoor seating might feel more breezy and cool. The parking is located in the back. I think we went at a good time where we were able to find parking, but it doesn't bother us too much if we had to walk. You place your order at the counter, and they bring it to you. Everyone was very nice. The inside has a nostalgic feeling. It felt quaint and cozy. We also didn't want to wait very long for our food. If we're ever in the area again, we would stop by.

Amazing food, cute little Cafe, with good clean food. I got the Greek omelet and it was very tasty. The service was good. You order at the counter and then they bring you your food. Self serve coffee and water. Restrooms in the back, porta potty with visiting geckos. Lovely cat came for a visit, which was a highlight, sweet.

Hometown Haleiwa feel. So simple and easy going I loved the surfer vibe. Cute little self serve water and pre paid coffee station. The food may come out on paper plates but it is just sooo good. The French toast was what I needed after my hike to refuel my tummy and soul. The bacon was crisp and yummy. Eggs pretty cooked! I don't think I have sat down and ate so much at one time, I almost finished it all!!! Service is chill and kind. Love this cafe! Have been there a couple times and I am never disappointed

Really enjoyed this! Spam was very good, loved my Avocado toast. The loco moco could have used a little more flavor but still very good, super filling and well priced. Cute little casual place.

The waffles are not in the pic, but they were so crispy and yummy, just like the fresh toast, asparagus and bacon omelette.

Cute little cafe in the north shore. Abundance of seating inside and outside. Staff were respectful and nice. Typical breakfast food you'd get at any diner but it was made good. Parking in the back of the cafe. Not too expensive for breakfast.

We've passed by this place many of times and thought why not try it out. So we stoped by to get some breakfast. There's plenty of parking in the back. The workers are very nice. I'm not going to lie, it's a little bit run down but that doesn't affect that food quality. The food taste very homey. Comforting and for the price, don't expect top tier high end restaurant. It's like mom or dad made it. The wait was not long and the food was fresh. I'd definitely come here for a quick cheap meal. There's also outdoor seating if you want to enjoy fresh air.

The food is terrific, service is great! Amazing local spot! Definitely a must eat at location! Try the French toast with blueberries if you like that sort of thing.

Twenty years ago, when we lived on the island, Café Haleiwa was our Thursday tradition--it was simply the best! The breakfast burrito is massive, packed with flavor, and always a delight. Pair it with freshly squeezed juice and a great cup of coffee, and you have a perfect start to your day. The avocado toast and sweet bread French toast are also my favorites. This summer, we had the chance to return, and it was just as incredible as we remembered. Café Haleiwa truly is a North Shore staple that never disappoints!

Wanna be served pre-made waffles drenched in whip cream in a plastic plate ? If so this is your spot. The waffles are within the standards of a your holiday inn continental breakfast. Nothing says "American food" like the pic below.

Very cute find in Haleiwa Town this morning. My husband and I couldn't decide where to go and randomly picked this cafe in the midst of arriving. Once inside we were greeted by the friendly staff and gazed at their menu for a hot minute ultimately deciding on huevos rancheros. Before ordering we noticed their specials of the day and found Steak Rancheros instead. For them not being an actual Mexican restaurant, their dish was pretty spot on! Better than what I've experienced at these so called taquerias. Even though the sauces they used were probably Herdez Chipotle Salsa Cremosa and Avocado Cilantro, the way it was presented and tasted was delicious.

A casual breakfast place in North Shore. When you walk into the place, you order first, then find your own seating inside or outside. There's plenty of seating. We went mid morning on a weekend so it was pretty busy. There were 10 of us and we waited for our food about 30 min. When we ordered they did say it would be about 40-45 min so that was great! They people are very nice and helpful there. The food was worth the wait. Big servings and delicious! We will definitely go back!

There is an upstairs seating area that must provide some exceptional views, but it was closed during our visit. Our lunch was easily 5-star. We began with the Spicy Ahi Wontons. Fresh ahi with shallots, scallions, tobiko (Japanese caviar), and cabbage. This App was extremely complex with a hint of spice. Truly wonderful! For our mains we ordered the grilled mahi mahi and fish and chips. My mahi mahi was grilled to a moist perfection, and the brown butter sauce could have overwhelmed the fish, so I went light on the sauce. Their fish n' chips are not your traditional Irish bar offering. The fish was gently battered with panko and fried just right. Their homemade tarter sauce was absolutely delicious. They have a very interesting craft cocktail menu. My Ku'Ula-Kai Mai Tai was on point and perfectly balanced - sweet and sour. Plus 1's Aloalo Fizz reminded her of a Paloma, only made with vodka with a tropical twist. Service was attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu and ingredients. We really appreciated the chill environment, beautiful view, and the welcoming ocean breeze. Pro tip: After dinner, head downtown to walk off your lunch/dinner and check out all the shops. Dessert? If you enjoy waiting in a long line, then the famous shaved ice shop is located there (IYKYK).

With all the storms and flooding near by this little tourist town has caused a slow down in business. Found this restaurant on Yelp and made a reservation online. Made the drive over, it's located in one of the areas with different businesses that is walkable. There is parking in lots around them. The place was smaller than we expected, had a relaxed comfortable charm. The weather was comfortable outside so we sat on the covered porch area on interesting heavy well made chairs. Arrived early so the place was relatively quiet Staff were very attentive. Their happy hour runs between 5 and 6, took advantage of the lower rate on two items. Husbands ordered the hamburger which was very juicy and had tasty add ons. It came with garlic fries that were delish. The Tapas we tried were the Spicy garlic shrimp on rice, roasted Brussel sprouts and cauliflower dish. All were delish, be warned the Shrimp dish is very spicy, we ordered a little bread to cut the heat. All in all we enjoyed our dining experience at Maya's.
