Ordered a banana cream pie over two weeks ago to be picked up 12/23, just in time for my family's Christma Eve dinner. We ordered that pie specifically as it was the request of our guest we are having from out of town. Went today to pick it up and the lady at the front counter says it was never made. Never even made! Although she offered a variety of different pies to sell, it's very disappointing we couldn't count on what we requested for our holiday dinner. We come here almost weekly for lunch and enjoy the food and fantastic service. Before this incident I loved this place. After this I am discouraged to return again, especially to depend on the bakery for their pies. read more

Pretty good considering there's no Panera anywhere nearby. I went simple with the Caesar salad and the French Onion Soup. The salad's dressing was a bit different but not bad. Maybe a local version of Caesar. The French onion soup was delicious with fresh ground pepper adding a perfect season. read more

I was a little conflicted about writing a review for this place. We ordered food to go. When I picked it up, the food was ready, the place was very busy and the lady at the register was....somewhat friendly. I had the Sweet Chicken sandwich with potato salad and my husband had the Mushroom Swiss burger with pasta salad. The food was great, everything was definitely fresh and made in house. The burger was amazing! The bread fresh. However, I grabbed 2 pieces of pumpkin roll and 2 scones from the bakery case. When I bit into the pumpkin roll, it was AWFUL!!! It tasted like there had been something added to it in accident. It honestly tasted like cleaner or poison. I threw away the rest of the baked goods. I really wanted to give a better review. But after messaging the cafe about my experience and getting a poor response, I definitely have to knock off stars for service. Definitely hesitant to eat here next time we're in Fallon. My husband and I were traveling from Utah to California and decided on The Courtyard Cafe and Bakery for lunch. We sat outside because we had our dog with us. The server brought out a bowl of water for our Tommy, and made several trips back to our table to make sure his bowl was full and that we were well taken care of. I had the vegetarian quesadilla and my husband had the angel hair noodles with chicken. Both were fabulous and very large portions. We chatted a bit with the owner and learned that they bake their breads for the Cafe there at the bakery and serve only quality meats. We spent the night in Fallon so we could pick up our grandson, who is in training at the base and take him out to breakfast. We stopped by the Courtyard because of it's high ratings. This is, by far, the favorite breakfast spot for my wife and me. It is little more on the speedy side but still reasonable. The staff is always very pleasant and food is outstanding. Regardless of what you get, I recommend a side of pancakes. My wife and I always get a side of pancakes to share. So far I've tried Traditional wrap, fried egg sandwich, bacon mushroom omelette but where they really knock it out of the park is with the cream cheese eggs! This is my second time here. I came by myself and brought my husband today. The quiche is bursting with meat, cheese and veggies. The piecrust is flaky and buttery. The Italian veggie soup was obviously homemade. The desserts look amazing but we were served a piece of banana bread with our meal and we were just too full to try them! This is the perfect country breakfast house. The menu was nothing like Ive seen before. You can actually order a fried egg sandwich! The selections are rare and everything screams home cooking from the best Mom cook. The baked goods looked fantastic. You can order a slice of what looked to be about 10 different pies. I had the Everything Quiche. It was about 2 inches deep, had perfectly sliced veggies and meats, the crust was so good. These are hand made crusts and their imperfections are delicious. On a recommendation my friend and I received from a local, we tried the café. The place is truly amazing. The environment is very relaxing and comfortable with, what I thought, were very comfortable chairs. The service staff and hostess were absolutely amazing. We had mild conversations with our friendly waitress which perfectly added to the atmosphere. The menu was diverse and surprising, given the city. I had the Florentine Benedict, personally. Truly amazing. The hollandaise sauce was mild and complemented the dish perfectly. Everything was fresh and freshly cooked. I had also ordered the lemon chiffon red tea. It was perfect by itself and a whole new level with cream and honey. The tea can come out in a pot, if ordered, and presented with a strength timer which I found to be a great touch. I ordered the strawberry and rhubarb pie but haven't tried it yet. But it looks and smells amazing. I will definitely be heading back to this café within the week. read more

I love this restaurant! Fallon isn't normally a town I look forward to being in, but now that I've found the Courtyard Cafe, I actually do have a bright spot to enjoy there. (I visit Fallon occasionally to see my parents.) At the Courtyard Cafe, I enjoyed one of the most delicious salads I've ever had, with a homemade vinaigrette dressing that was delightful. Our foodserver was also very nice, and extremely helpful in choosing from their amazing selection of teas. I was trying to decide between a lemon cream and a coconut oolong; she gave me a verbal description, and I still wasn't sure which one to pick, so she brought all of their tea tins over (housed in a decorative box) so I could smell them. I finally chose the lemon cream, and it was heavenly! It was delivered in a well-sized pot with a "tea timer" to make sure the tea didn't steep too long. They sell those teas there as well, and I've been wishing since I left that I'd brought some with me. I really look forward to going back to try more teas and enjoy that amazing salad again. Their fresh desserts look fantastic, as well! Finally, it is pleasant, bright and cozy inside, with many windows and a subtly charming decor.
